20180429_010616_PASD021-Fletcher-1943_25_sea_hope.wowsreplay @Fonfalks you may wanna have a look at this replay on dealing with radar. in a DD. Only 1 radar ship, the DM, but I got radared at least twice and still survived till the end until I got a bit greedy with the last enemy ship PS: I think there are plenty of good suggestions above. I try to play as like how rvfharrier has described. When in game I also take note of where the radar ships are and which ship they are when they're spotted. If its a Russian CA, I know I can't get too close to the area. If its USN I have more leeway. Making use of islands is good as well. So what if they radar you. Just because they can see you doesn't necessary mean they can shoot you ;) (see last part of the video. That DM radared me and I just sat there, wait for radar to be gone and sank it (or was it that BB that sank it?). Well in any case I outplayed a DM who knew I was there already so )

But is this OP's original account though OP's post reminded me of this BB player. Bear with the screenshots. I assure you that it will be amusing: 1) Enemy Alasce is the star of today's show. Note it's position and heading. 2) Your's truly getting spotted. What a fine meal I'll make for that majestic BB over there. 3) BB salty that prey disappears into thin air. 4) Finally makes it to those island. 5) Just Guy literally abandons the flank that he spawned on and has the gall to complain about not being able to see the enemy ships

Every time an enemy ship is damaged or sunk by the Haida, they'll hear a Canadian yelling sorry in the background

Here u go guys, an Aki replay with AFT ;) Not bad I would say for a tier 8 in a tier 9-10 game 20180527_210140_PJSD108-Akizuki_25_sea_hope.wowsreplay

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

Nerve wrecking mate -
You kinda answered your own question don't u think? A slow cruiser with slow reload and that kind of gun layout along with crap accuracy, why would she not have heal to give her a fighting chance. Slow speed means easily flank means that it would need more health+heal to tank damage. Crap guns means that it would need more health+heal to stay longer in game to be able to deal more damage. What's so hard to understand?

How to maximize secondary hits per match as cruiser main?

Only 300 -
Strafing is part of the chess game. You do realize that strafing has its own strategic use beyond just shooting down planes right? WG has already removed strafing at tier 4 and 5, along with manual attack for CVs to benefit new players. You're aren't exactly a journeyman level CV player at tier 7. There has to be progression. Sure you won't be a super unicrum but you should have moderate knowledge of how CV gameplay works.

Is doubloon more expensive than bitcoin?
pra3y replied to GhostalkerGR's topic in General Discussion
Except they don't make money directly off the Olympics in the first place. Any money they get is an incentive to them from their home country. To put it into the current context in case you don't get it, say OMNI team A wins the hypothetical annual WOWS World Championship, OMNI awards each member 10,000 doubloons for winning. WG just award them a gold medal for winning and they get the added benefit of bragging rights and recognition of their skill. If OP really wants a monetary prize pool or doubloons, then go play a game that his more exposure like DOTA, LOL or CS:GO like what others have suggested above. -

I agree. The Olympic committee should start giving the winning athletics money instead of those worthless medals. I mean can you imagine the gall? Those athletics train so hard and what do they get? A bronze, silver or gold medal while the host country and the Olympic organisation profit from all the money. -
1) Strafing is the greatest equaliser. 2) Creativity in how you play.

@VC381 Sure, nothing has been confirmed, thats why i said "if true" in my first post. Its just if you think about it logically, the current system works and is perhaps the only way a CV can work in wows currently. Just because you or others can't appreciate how a ship is played doesnt mean others can't, can't they? If you can't feel the excitement while playing a CV then CV is perhaps not for you, just like how a ship you like may not excite others. The ship doesnt have to suit everyone. It doesnt open up any potential. What potential is there? "FPS" style of controlling a plane from tone and carrying out a torpedo drop on an enemy ship, how efficient is it in terms of the current gameplay model? In the end you still have to rely on an "RTS" style of control, just whether its a simple or complex one. It reflects on the grand scale of things as well. An "FPS" style of cv play can be used as an add on/complement to an RTS model to make it more enjoyable/"interactive" and given more options, but makes the gameplay less efficient. So nah its not resisting because something us different but rather it makes no sense. WG's track record when dealing with CV isnt particularly stellar as well.

I wonder if you consider the implication this has on CVs and the game itself. As much as you or others might find it boring and "separated" from the main game, the truth of the matter is that its not. I mean for example when you play a CAs do you mindlessly click on targets and lob shells at them? No, you get into a good position where you can deal the most damage or have an avenue of escape. Same with CVs. You can't mindless click on targets. Granted CVs involved more tactics, but whatever you do have an effect on the game just like the other classes. A wowp style may appeal to you or as the CCs put it, the people who are not interested in the current form of CV game style, but I believe that it negative affects the game. It essentially removes one class from the game, that of CV. CVs are defined by there squadrons of planes. The main difference between CV and other classes is its ability to be where its needed. A wowp style game play removes this major ability given the micromanagement needed as you pilot your plane to sink a BB. The backlash against CV players will be even worse now. "CV f*&# you why are you not spotting" "Oh I was trying to pilot my torpedo bombers to sink that BB". Similarly spending 3 minutes flying your fighters to say D7 to spot a DD feels abit ridiculous. A "FPS" style of gameplay is not the solution in making CVs fun. From a naive perspective, sure, it'll be fun. But at the same time it will utterly destroy the purpose of having CVs in game in the first place. WG has to first educate people about CVs, its exact strength and weaknesses. People still have serious misconceptions about CVs, which should be clarified. There are some people who think that CVs are some invincible mythical beast of old. Then at least have some tutorials™. That will be a start.

I don't mind a rework adjusting some stuff here and there like AA, plane survivability, number of planes per squad etc. However, the rumours of a wowp style gameplay is kind of disturbing (if true). While the current UI has its downside, i quite like it and really doubt CVs can be played any other way in a maximum 20 min match against other classes of ships. Feels wierd going into a "FPS" mode to attack ships or other planes. That's one. Then what about damage, scouting and air cover? How can a CV player do all 3 within a short span of time if it is a full on "FPS" mode kind of thing? Would the way a CV is rewarded now be different? I can't help but think of these stuff and feel abit apprehensive. Didn't get perm camo for Haku and Midway in case the rework make me stop playing CVs (Im not even bothered with Worchester's super AA. Heck, even if every ship get base 100 aa rating and defensive aa il still play CVs. But i'll be pissed at a total change in playstyle). Sorry if I sidetracked from the OP. Just my 2-cents on the rework though.

I actually took AFT on the Aki recently after getting 4 pts instead of CE . Pretty interesting I can tell you that, fun too when you sit in smoke and start machine gunning shells at targets that are beyond usual DD gun range. Semi AA built ok, don't judge

I would think that the system works separately from the report though. Combining both report and the system's own logic/detection, while good safeguard, complicates the system further? Perhaps it was because I spotted one ship but OP spotted nothing and thus inactivity? Who knows. Or maybe OP got d/c after travelling 8.59km, got spotted and sunk and that counted as inactivity. Perhaps more clarification is needed form WG I guess.

You destroyed 3 IJN ships. Destroy 3 German ships left.

Posted this in another thread but shall post it here as well. Barely doing anything in a battle will not result you in turning pink. I literally did nothing, 0 damage (for that matter 0 shots fired), and only spotted 1 ship in the game above, yet no warning. So I'm really doubtful that the warning system is that cranky.

Getting warning points without doing something wrong
pra3y replied to PaxMaggie's topic in General Discussion
Potatoed and did 0 damage. Then recalling this topic, i let the battle run till the end before exiting. Can confirm that getting 0 damage will not give u a warning. So maybe its something else? Or maybe doing 0 damage and quitting the battle straight away. Ah the permutations -

Who knew Trump plays WoWs and on the EU server at that

Play more strategically. For one, CV gameplay isn't just CV vs CV. Make use of friendly AA or alternate strike areas, so that his fighters will either focus on one area or be split up. No matter how fast they are it still takes time to fly across the map. I've had games in Kaga against AS saipans with equal or better skills than me. Even though they may deplane me, I can still do 100k+ damage or at least help my team to win the game.

ST Midway huge hangar capacity nerf criticised

I know. Hopefully any changes made goes smoothly with consideration of how it'll affect gameplay. One can only pray, especially with the CV Rework (TM). -
ST Midway huge hangar capacity nerf criticised
pra3y replied to IBloomJustForYou's topic in General Discussion
@MrConway or @Crysantos is there a reason the Midway has to nerfed so badly when considering the constructive points made in this thread in regards to the comparison made between the Haku and Midway? I know you guys have all the detailed statistics but what about actual CV game play and how CVs actually work. For some reason, to me at least, it seems that you guys only have the same generic understanding of CV game play as a non-cv playing player. Im probably wrong since you guys made this game in the first place but the way you guys are going about it, especially with the way SO mention about the upcoming CV revamp (TM) looks very worrying from a CV player point of view. Maybe get more player opinion/feedback rather than arbitary implementing changes that you guys feel will "balance" things out, especially when it comes to CV, given the case of Graf Zepplin when it was first released. -
Hahaha RNG gives and RNG takes. That game in the screenshot, enemy Iowa was 1~2 km away from me showing somewhat of a broadside (angled >5 degrees). Didn't even get a single cit off him.
