Why not? The smokescreen is not a forcefield. Just like how that CA can kill your planes, you can manually drop torps or bombs into the smoke. If you play a non-CV ship and is decent enough, you can shoot and hit the target in smoke. Its not like smoked ship is invulnerable. Plus if you're potato engh to fly yr planes near smoke clouds without knowing what is in it im afraid you're a potato.

Why, just because he plays better than most people doesn't mean he doesn't potato from time to time. Also, being a good player doesn't give u a a right not to be criticized. If he made a mistake he made a mistake and should be called out on it, simple as that.

I guess I prefer to be mobile so that I can a) support my teammates and be their meat shield while we push and b) If they're not pushing I can move away and reposition myself to help other allies who are doing something. I don't really enjoy static game play that much in WOWS. As good as Flamu is, he sometimes tend to just hang at the back and snipe. I think I've mentioned it before several times, but there was a video of Flambass playing in a Yueyang against Flamu and Runner in a Montana and DM respectively. Flaumu, his clan mate and several other BBs outnumber Flambass's team on that flank. Yet they all did not take advantage of that numerical advantage to push. Flamu just hung around at the back lobbing shells and played too safe and I would say in part, contributed to their loss. Eh well at least he is trying to learn compared to alot of other people.

The 1st rule of BB club is not to park in a BB. When you park and/or reverse, you become target number 1 since its way easier to hit a slow or stationary target. Personally I push forward and try to keep myself moving inbetween 2 caps at the start of the game. If I have no support or there are way too many ships, i turn back. Short term i lose a chunk of HP for showing my sides, being alone etc. Long time i survive. Imagine parking at a spot and 6 enemy ships push you. You'll become fish food. The benefit of moving is you reposition yourself throughout the game, flank enemy lemming trains, punch through their lines. So yeah try not to park.

I've only played 7 games so far in it and I don't get into tier 10 games that often but maybe it'll help you get an idea on how you can or want to play it? Edit: Here you go. Only got 2. Hence map awareness is very important. Plus I guess sometimes you have to forget the "defined" class roles in this game and improvise/ not take it too seriously. Not sure if you do this but I try to take note of where all the enemy DDs are, where most of the enemy ships are heading etc at the start of the game and try to plan my move. If my teammates help me that would be great. If I can help my teammate that would be great too. But I try to help myself without being over reliant on my teammates. For example, even in a BB I'll still shoot at a DD, unlike those guys that refuse to shoot a DD 7km away from them and expect a friendly CA or DD to deal with it that sorta thing. It translate into all classes in the game. So far I find the grind pretty ok. Not sure if you sold the Monarch yet but I'll say give it a few more games. I didn't particularly like playing the Zao at first when I initially got it but it grew on me and I enjoy playing it now. Pretty sure you'll do fine.

a) If you don't like the range etc, you can always free exp. I dont really like to play my ships stock so that was what I did. b) As you have noticed and expounded by the other posters, it has very low concealment when maxed out, 10.9km to be exact, which when you think about it is pretty indecent. You can outspot most BBs and CAs regardless of tier and only DDs truely outspot you. Moving about while using that concealment plus islands allow you to ambush other ships, set up shots, escape etc; c) Guns wise I don't seem to be having the same issue as most others. 5 games are a small sample but I am on 30.24% hit rate, which is fairly decent for BB guns in my book. I have been firing exclusively AP only, and my avg damage is at 83090. So i feel the guns are ok. Perhaps don't use HE and just stick to AP and see how it goes. Pretend that you're playing British CLs with high alpha guns but slower reload and worse sigma

I crashed yesterday immediately after loading into battle. For some reason (probably cranky net) I couldn't get back in on time and got sunk with 0 points. Received a pink warning that seemingly disappeared immediately

I think some people are missing the point. Its not about people being thin skin or you can't say whatever you what. If you want to hurl vulgarities, slurs, remarks or "banter" by all means go ahead. Who hasn't lost their temper before? The point however, is that if you're going to say whatever you want to say, then you have to be prepared to face the consequences, be it in real life or in this case, wows. People don't have to tolerate your nonsense or abusive language. Why should they? They don't know you, they haven't met you before. You expect them to understand that you're only "bantering"? Do you think that you can go up to a random stranger in the streets amd start hurling abusive language at them and get away with it? They'll probably call the cops. So have some balls and accept responsibility for your words. Also please don't reply about people abusing the report system. That is a seperate matter from this.

Words have consequences in the real world sunshine. Don't be a snowflake and think you can get away with it in a game. People don't know you and you don't know them. They don't have to entertain or reciprocate to your "good honest adult banter" just because you say so. You can jolly well keep your shite to yourself and your mates.

When you crap talk so much about expectations, yet come in 3rd from last in a tier 10 BB while the worse tier 8 BB outscores you @Grandorf

My 2nd game in the Monarch. Since the fire chance is way lower than the other British BBs, I decided to just sod it and stick to my AP only rule. Worked well so far on the targets I've shot at. The other thing is the 10.9 camo. Using the camo and cover helps with the survivability of the ship and allows me to pick my target. If there is too much return fire I'll just disappear.
