The saving grace for me is I didn’t buy Kaga, I got it in a crate. I almost bought GZ.

If you predrop your planes are invulnerable during the next attack (if you time it right).I have never practiced it as I assumed WG would patch it. Guess they just nerf elsewhere instead.

I don’t think that is true of T8. I never played T10 in RTS

Disagree completely. The reserves are useless if you can’t get close enough to damage anything. Typically in a T9-10 game I am lucky if I manage to get a hit in every other squadron and never get a second strike. Against certain ships ( Kremlin, Minotaur, Worcester, Grozovoi , Black to name just a few) you don't get anywhere near hitting and even relatively weak DDs will take you down because you need to be flying so slow to spot them and not overrun. I played earlier and got 35k damage which is high for Kaga these days. On Monday I had the worst possible (Enterprise 2 Kremlins, Gascogne Minotaur, 3 Yoshino, Grozovoi, Shima. The only other T8 was a Baltimore which, yes, you can hit with one rocket attack of you do a straight run and max speed. I got 19k. The only reason I play it at all is that, even on these games, you can still get over 200k credits but it isn’t enjoyable.

Bismarck is so annoying. When it’s great, it’s amazing; when he isn’t smiling on you, you want to tear hair out. Today he smiled on my and I one-shotted a Cleveland. Later in the game my secondaries were blasting away missing everything.

Yep, Kaga is just totally broken. It’s useless at T10 and it gets put into T10 most of the time.

The only one I have is Conq and I don’t much like it. If you want to win, Kremlin seems to beat all at the moment but it’s make-believe twin Slava will probably be even more OP.

The reason Yam is a fairly easy target is she is so big, turns so slowly and they tend to camp at the back taking long shots.

I played a game in Kaga earlier and the enemy team was: Saipan Montana Yamato Kremlin Kremlin Bourgogne Worcester Yoshino Yoshino Henri IV Grozovoi Black Something is wrong when the only ship you have a remote chance of hitting is a Yamato. As it turned out we won but I lost 89 planes and only did 19k.

It is. At T8 you will be facing T10 at least 60% of the time. So you need to grind all the way to T10 but, even then, you will get massacred until you have ground even more to get all the upgrades and a Captain with 14 points. its a crap system.

Very difficult to do as most of the T10s never get into secondary range until very late game. I have a similar issue with both Tirpitz and Massa constantly being uptiered (they are both secondary build)

Bismarck, Tirpitz, Massachusetts, Richelieu .. always see them in T10 games and they always become targets for my T8 CVs which are also constantly up-tiered, especially Kaga which is particularly depressing to play in this situation.

I enjoy French BBs as far as I’ve got (T7) and German at T7and 8. The only line I’ve completed is British and I find the higher ones too fragile. Currently levelling US. i have no interest in the phoney Russian ones but I guess if you want to win, level to Kremlin as it is so OP.

I won a game on Midway! The not so good: Five losses in a row on Kaga. All but one uptiered but on the low tier one, our Shuma launched 20km torps from the bac line and teamkilled our other DD then committed suicide. Went downhill quickly.

This just isn't the case since 0.8.5 - even Kaga gets deplaned quickly at higher tiers

So the 'hotfix' is up and, as far as I can tell after 5 games it makes very little difference. Tier 8 CVs (or un-upgraded T0s even) still get wiped out/deplaned in T9/10 games Against lower tiers you maybe get and extra attack if you are very lucky but not a staggering change. The only amusing one I had was a T6/8 game with Kaga where half the enemy team were either dumb or bots. The BBs all blobbed without any cruisers so I could launch torpedoes from range and guarantee hitting at least one. The worst was my first run in Midway having just got it - totally un-upgraded but with a 17 point Captain transferred in from another ship so I had SE. Lost 86 planes, only 25k damage, minus 130k credits. Guess I park this until I can afford the upgrades from free XP /other ship's credits.

Yup. It was a lazy bodge of a fix. I spent the gold to re-spec my Lexi captain but it made little difference.
