    Exactly this. At some point, people were telling me I should be using AP with the Budyonny 100% of the time. When I tried that, the damage I was dealing became about half of what I used to do when I mixed HE and AP. So, lesson learnt : There is no "just use this shell all the time". It's extremely dependant on the situation, the ships involved, the angles, the distance and all that.

    Improve DD anti-air

    How do you suggest they do that exactly? Look at the size of a battleship, then at the size of a destroyer. Now imagine the same amount of AA guns on a battleship mounted on a DD... And AA guns can't be changed separately for a single ship (correct me if I am wrong), so buffing them in quality would mean buffing up the BBs and CAs of that nation as well.

    Sometimes I can get 5 devastating strikes in a BB by firing randomly, then other times only 1 or 2. They must really reduce the RNG in this game.

    I'm sorry but this is ridiculous, unless you don't know how to aim or predict any kind of movement at all. How is there no reason to engage a DD at 7-8 kms? Russian DDs are actually built to engage at those distances, and IJN DDs's guns are only slightly worse as far as shell arc goes. 7-8 kms is the perfect range at which US DDs will miss a lot due to their slow shells, but IJN DDs (provided the captain knows how to aim) will do 1-2k damage per salvo. And I'm just gonna assume that the "close range fights require more skill" line was sarcasm or a joke.

    You actually do have a pretty good chance at fighting US DDs with your guns in an IJN DD, as long as you stay at around 8 kms or more. It has been done to me while I was in a US DD, and I've done it while I was in IJN DD. The guns do really good damage, and knock out engines and guns left and right. SE also gives you more of a fighting chance, bringing the lackluster HP of IJN DDs to similar levels with the competition.

    This is a prime example of why some level of experience is required to make judgements about the whole game. The bit about it chaing at higher tiers is simply not true. Tiers 3-5 are far more action packed than tiers 9-10.

    Would like to add some points as to why SE is more useful in TBs. While I've never played DDs in them, I have to agree that SE is a better choice (in Team Battles). From what I've seen, DDs don't usually shoot their guns unless they have to (for example, vs a destroyer), and are used more for area denial with their torps and, of course, capping. That extra bit of health will allow them to survive longer, meaning they can cap and also somewhat stop the enemy from doing an organised push. Usually, the team whose DDs go down first, is the team that loses. Essentially, their role is a lot more defensive than in Randoms, and extra health helps them do exactly that. That being said, I use SE only on my IJN Destroyers in the actual game. Just find DE/AFT for US/SN much better options in Random games.

    In some cases, you should. Especially against the IJN cruisers with their somewhat slower turrets. I remember quite a few times of getting to within 3-4 kms of an atago in my fletcher and getting 10+ citadels before sinking him.
  13. Unfortunately that's true... I don't really expect german BBs to be powerful in the sense of doing a lot of damage, but I expect to be like tirpitz, faster firing guns, better survivability. Something different from the BBs we have in-game right now. Afraid that most people will cry about them if they are indeed different though.
  14. You'd think all these people would have quit when looking at any of the 100% imaginary ships in the game, instead of getting their panties in a bunch over changes to existing ships. If it's just a case of "Oh I'm so obsessed with KM I want them to be historical accurate but I don't care about other nations" then, that's just too bad. And I will say this to the RN fans when they go crazy over the same changes to RN ships, and so on. I, for one, would hate to play this game if it was true to life in every way. Now, what WG needs to do is not give any fantasy hull upgrades to the ships, and just watch the waterfall of tears as people cry that they made KM underpowered.
  15. This right here. This is sensible, and it needs to happen. But then you have people saying the words "BB Mafia" and not feeling stupid about it, which is quite the achievement. Either they don't know that mafia includes the word "organised", or they are just delusional.

    I would really like not to have to hide my stats, this is just absurd. I was hoping the guy who made it gave up, but I guess that was naive of me. That monstrofil guy even put a trademark inside the game if you installed one of his mods in the past. This shouldn't come as a surprise.

  18. Divisioning with trouble is a very good way to get your winrate down. And he finished off damaged enemies very often. But shhh, don't tell him!

    Team Battles

    Until WG decides to implement some rewards, they will continue to be the barren wasteland they are now. Also, I imagine this season will end when Ranked battles come back.
  20. I play quite a lot, 3300 battles so far, and I don't think I will have the time to do most of these missions either. Seems a bit too much, whereas Kamikaze R missions were too easy.

    I'm not one to talk about the problems CVs face, honestly, I don't know. But, every 15-20 games is an exaggeration. I see CVs every other game.
  22. Met ihilh in his Lexington today, while I was in my Hindenburg. He saved my [edited]at one point, dropping some torps on a tirpitz which I then finished off, and spotting his torps so I could avoid them.
  23. Not gonna bother with the rest of the pages but, this caught my eye. I believe I'm one of the 2nd group. Not so much that I play T10 all the time, but that I don't really expect teamwork with randoms. So tell me... not wanting to hit my head on a wall while trying to get teamwork going with the 1st group makes me arrogant? I'd say it's kind of a realistic approach, I've come to "deal with it". And also, compliments/reports don't actually matter. Unless WG implements rewards for the karma system, few people will bother with it, just like with team battles.

    What is your cursed ship?

    I have 52% winrate with the Kirov. My damage is alright, at 53k, but I hated the ship. Budyonny is much better.
