Future British battleships and their Tiers

Vanguard is just to good an opportunity for a British T8 premium battleship. I bet my house on it. -
Future British battleships and their Tiers
Earl_of_Northesk replied to DaOrange's topic in General Discussion
It would be the worst possible outcome. And there is just no freakin' need for it. Gameplaywise, although the overmatching problem exists, the mechanic is also overstated in her importance. Scharnhorst can't overmatch anything and she's doing just fine I would say! KGV wouldn't have torps to add some additional damage, but she can throw in the best armour for her tier, an armour layout that would be very much competetive at T9. It's the same with König and her puny guns at T5, nobody is complaining about that one either. It's amazing how much balancing talk here is concentrating on guns and guns only when it is only one of many deciding factors. You are doing just the same mistake here. And yes, a 3x3 15" KGV would make me puke. It would destroy everything that is unique about the ship, just spouting out a generic anglo-american WW2 battleship. But contrary to what they are saying, that's pretty much what most people want here right? Every ship just being the same, so it's perfectly balanced... -

Didn't we have that discussion back in december? Hasn't this thread provided sufficient evidence for the 14" KGV's being a T8 ship? Is there ANY possibility WG will fit a completely ahistorical gun setup to one of the most iconic ships of WW2? Answers: Yes, Yes, No. Go home man. -

Nowhere. -

Just how ridiculous DD's really are, DD's fans i laugh at you

As mentioned, I play quite a lot of DD's myself. This year, it's probably my most played class (although I play all of them). -

Of course they do, but sometimes not as heavily as you might think. When I started playing, I was regularly diving up with to guys I knew. We were all below 45% winrate (okay, these were the days were 5 to 10% of games ended as a draw, but still, let it be 48% in todays context then). Divisiong up certainly did not help with our winrate then, it probably actually lowered it because playing solo, I would hava had a chance to get a better player in my team instead. Like Mtm said, everything needs to be put into context. Of course, if you are in OMNI, OM, TTT, KK, MDIVX, you could probably reach 60% even if your are a complete scrub. But as with everything, the truth lies inbetween. -
Have a like It seems like the next WG community party at Gamescom will be rather badly attended due to this new CM Other than that, welcome Nice to see things move forward!

Although some people are just grinding through, it generally has got a lot to do with skill. If you are able to overarchieve in first league to an extent you still get an above 55% winrate, you are very good. It is not the ship, It is the players. The few players who grinded to rank 1 for consecutive seasons with 500+ battles per season? Please show them to me and then compare their numbers to those who got there by actual skill. For people like that, 65% is the average winrate in random anyway. Khabarowsk needed a nerf and still isn't ruined. It remains a very powerful T10 DD, just not as invincible as it was. Regarding the assumptions about British cruisers: As you have no Idea how they played (nobody here does) and what the reason for their constant redesigns was, your speculation is pretty pointless and in this case, also wrong.

Where did I defend the OP? I did not, I just laughed at the topic and found something equally laughable inside. Since I stopped at Minekaze for an eternity and all my japanese DD stats after that are pretty recent (last half year, so after the rudder shift buffs for BB's and the torpedo detection nerfs), feel free to look them up and decide for yourself. Sorry to play this card here, but it IS possible. -

On this forum, complaints are on a parity tbh. The armada of people storming threads like this one is almost funny. -

This thread is ridicoulus. But the notion that IJN torpedoes are "pointless" is just as ridicoulus. -

Ah, another one not acknowledging basic game mechanics influencingt the meta, just downright denying any IJN DD has still the capacity to alpha strike a battleship if played correctly. And yes, I do play all classes. Seriously, nobody needs this toxit crap. That constant whining about IJN DD's by their fans is just as bad as all the other stuff we have here. -
What is the reason for the forums to exist?

It's a trial. You've got to start somewhere. Your question is literally answered by the post you just quoted. -

Earl_of_Northesk replied to cherry2blost's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, why is this? It probably has got something to do with the attitude. Also, having us ST's as a bridge would generally a bad idea because if it would be communicated this way, everything we say here would have the potential to cause major shitstorms. It's better to just keep as close to the NDA as possible, that's what it's there for. -

I've said it before and I will say it again: yes, there are not enough CM's right now on EU. Two are gone, everyone knows it and everyone saw the job add by WG searching for new ones. Those were even posted in the forums. So it's an issue that is getting adressed. However, since this involves a probably rather lengthy process since this is a multinational company and you have to find someone willing moving to Paris in the first place, it hasn't been adressed just yet. Starting more and more threads about it won't help. Getting back to the opening post by cherry, I have to say that there have been times were the CM's were way more active in the forums, yes. Especially around the last months of 2015 and the beginning ones of 2016. However, I also (and I wasn't part of the "clique" back then) remember how WG employees have been treated around here. Downvoted, ridiculed and outright insulted. For every business decision (in which they mostly don't have a say) by WG, every new ship and patch, they got slacked. I honestly can understand why some might have lost interest in interacting with the forums, since they have other stuff to do as well (ST, events, CC program, social media etc.) and a lot of people now adressing the lack of interaction have been part of the problem. Especially a "certain forumite" (I love your language cherry, had to use it again) who hasn't played the game in months was once helpful. If I'm not mistaken, he was the one keeping up the thread which evaluated the several special offers in the premium shop, showing us how much they really were worth. He also issued the lack of interaction back then and together with Ectar, he even got a contest up which was rather fun and had a small prize issued by WG (some rare low tier premium). So it's not like he doesn't know its possible to interact with the CM's if you have a reasonable request or offer. However, his actions in the last few month have been increasingly hostile towards ST (on balancing issues and in general) and WG. As someone said, we are not on WG's payroll and are all individuals. I don't want to excuse anything, but "certain forumites" do get on your nerves. And you do have a feeling (see König Albert) they do it intentional and for attention purposes. -

Earl_of_Northesk replied to cherry2blost's topic in General Discussion
Not all of them, although some are. Especially those assigned to a certain language section are doing this basically in their free time, as far as I understand it. Even those who are on the payroll are mods for all of WG's forums on EU. And tbh, I do think that's right. Mods are mods, they don't need to have a link to the actual forum population. -
Cruisers are becoming more and more pointless
Earl_of_Northesk replied to bloodynicknames's topic in General Discussion
Sorry, but that's [edited]. I just recently unlocked Kagero. It is a very effective ship if played right. And I'm playing with stock torpedoes. Still, I'm way above server average. After all those "nerfs". -
DIe Aufklärer bleiben regulär in der Luft. Meinst du den Spotter? Also quasi die Range extension? Wäre mir auch völlig neu.

Cruisers are becoming more and more pointless
Earl_of_Northesk replied to bloodynicknames's topic in General Discussion
They weren't effective, they were just annyoing as [edited]. All these Shimas promoted was stalled gameplay. Their Alpha strike capability is still just as high, but without spamming torps from 15km away preventing everyone from ever pushing anywhere. -
Cruisers are becoming more and more pointless
Earl_of_Northesk replied to bloodynicknames's topic in General Discussion
I think the problem here is some kind of self fullfilling prophecy. When they changed the MM with 0.5.9, problems started, Nobody complained before. When the MM changed, that one tended to do either matches with 0-1 BB's and a ton of cruisers or a lot of BB's, because it couldn't cope with its restrictions. That got changed a bit, but then the massive influx of BB's started with the Germans. At that moment, cruisers of course got into trouble. They always relied on numbers to bull BB's. Now, with 5 vs. 5 BB's beng the norm and still a lot of DD's around at which you can't fire at the beginning, these BB's focused the cruisers still around, Which in return died more often. Which discouraged players from playing them, making it even less cruisers for the MM to distribute. Which inflated problem 1. tl:dr: I don't think BB's are too powerful or CA's pointless. I think that both are a problem if their numbers are too high in a battle. Getting back to a 4 BB maximum per game would probably solve a lot of problems. I don't need to get into a match withing 10 seconds everytime I click battle. I want balanced and fun battles. I know WG doesn't like hardcaps, but this game might need it really.
