    Inertia Fuse HE Shells

It doesn't have any effect on Atagos guns except the reduced firechance.

    Inertia Fuse HE Shells

You can't really citadel with BB HE; as it can only pass one layer of armour. Most cruisers (almost all except RN) have 2 layers in front of their citadel. Not worth it. Its absolutely useless for every BB main gun and you do not pen more. HE doesn't care about angling as well, so this is wrong perception on your side.
  3. Is this a whinethread? Probably, at least a bit, but it's also a serious take. Apart from some North American youtubers with questionable game design ideas, the community seems to have a pretty good idea about how important it will be to have RPF on nearly every single cruiser and absolutely every DD - it is, pretty much, what situational awareness was before it went from a captain skill to a permanent feature. A necessety. It's also one of those terrible game design choices which gives the player a tool that is absolutely uncounterable by anything. So, let's have some fond memories of things RPF will kill, shall we? 1.: The F3 torpedoes on Japanese high tier DD's. Remember those? High risk, high reward, you need to get close, but the results are epic sometimes. Flanking maneuvre around a bow-on battleship, killing it with a full salvo and a devastating strike. Yeah, goodbye to those time. You can say: hey, it is not reeeaally worth it on a BB and you maybe right. The problem is not the BB that is detecting you, but the cruiser or DD around him. Those torps have you go so close you will always be the nearest target. Back to long range spamming then. Or realistically, just play Fletcher or Gearing and leave the Japanese completely. Not really a point anymore. 2.: Cap mindgames with DD's Okay, it's not always smart to just rush the cap as fast as possible with a DD, but it is more often than not. Get in there, wait till you get detected (our outspot the enemy). Maybe be the smart guy who doesn't smoke to give his position away, so you can't get skillwalled! Epic knifefights right at the spart, giving you high intensitiy gameplay. First one is impossible now, the enemy DD will always now where you are, smoke or not (or even where exactly you are IN the smoke). Knifefights at the start will also be over, as it now will become a snailrace into the cap, because the first one is likely to get f*cked. You were angry about DD's not capping before? Watch how it can become even worse. We haven't even yet got to the part of CE on every cruiser, even in mid tier, which means they now can put very surprising strikes on DD's the second they are spotted. The new meta will be: the longer I stay away from the cap, the longer I survive. Fun. 3. Flanking maneuvres in general (or running away to win a game) Ah, those games where the enemy team is just stupid and doesn't get the cap, so your clumsy low tier DD wins the game on points by the end. Now, apparently, stupidity needs to be rewarded now, as playing for the objectives is obviously not what we want (see 2.). Get hunted down by the enemy CV, which will be told exactly where you are. Or by faster (and now pretty stealthy) cruisers. Also, stealthy flanking maneuvers to open up campy games are for loosers. WG clearly knows we love those campy games. Fun and engaging boys! 4. Ambushes around islands No matter if you are a cruisers or a DD, sometimes you need to go up against stuff you normally wouldn't fight to win the game. You use islands, channels. You maybe fight a cruiser with MUCH more HP in the hope you can surprise him by coming up from a different angle than he expects, so you can get one or two salvos in his broadside before he can shoot back. Or kill him with torps in your low HP DD. Hello RPF "skill" (I'm hesistant to call it one, as it neithe has got anything to do with the players skill or is, by design, something that should be in here as a skill (see the introduction)): because potatoes don't like losing games when their camping has saved them so many HP till the end. 5. ..... Feel free to add! I think especially for competetive, we can get some even more damning examples. I have to say, I dislike this gameplay decision a lot. I won't call for a boycott, that's stupid and nobody should do that. Try it, abuse the hell out of it and show WG how stupid it is. Although I fear that even the Japanese DD's are more likely to get a buff then for RPF to ever go again. I also have to say, if this plays out like I fear, it will either make me a CV main or leaving the game. I'm here because I'm a shipbuff more so than because I'm a gamer (as most of you probably have realised) and although I am an ST an I do love the game, my threshold for leaving is rather low. This is my first ever MMOG, I haven't been into gaming since I was 15, apart from some occasional Total War sessions with a friend. I can do just fine without it. It not some kind threat, it's more a sad thought of mine as I have really enjoyed the last (nearly) two years, but I do know this might be the thing which is driving me off, while there is no likely successor to this. Anyway, happy patchday! Or something.

A moment of silence for everything we will lose due to RPF

My USN DD's will happily show your IJN ones how fun that skill is. Sorry, but Aerroon has only adressed the (few) upsides for IJN DD's while completely ignoring the downsides.

You are dropping out? Interesting. Maybe all clans should do that. Certainly food for thought. A complete boycott. Let them keep their doubloons.

*Quick look at the stats* Ah, a BB player Yeah, it is certainly a gorgeous patch for you. How did the greens say in the 80's? Only after the last skill gameplay has been cut down / Only after the last cap has been poisoned / Only after the last DD has been caught / Then will you find that 12 battleships in the enemy team are not fun for you either.

I actually think that this is a good thing. Try it once, show how absolutely f*cking dumb of an idea it is. Ban it afterwards. Imagine CS:GO tournaments being played with a permanent wallhack

I know, but there is also a chat in this game. Your teammates can just tell you. They might even be able to triangulate your position.

Tbh, even those can be played on stealth apart from Khaba. And RPF will hurt them also a lot, as it will now be really difficult to use islands as cover or to hide when you are low HP.

You've forgotten hydro, Inb4 new Bismarck capping meta.

    Return of XVM?

Here, it is "potatoe". So? Also, there are ways of playing around that, I'm very much used to be focused in test ships. Annoying, but you will still get brilliant results because the enemy ignores more obvious things. Shooting a really good player first generally isn't a good idea as he will most likely know to cope with that, making "room" for the other players in his team.

    The French Cruiser's Thing

Not the problem and, as usual, a very shortsighted take at balance. Speed trials are irrlevant, as no ship makes those on full load. Most if not all warships of the period exceeded their operational top speed in trials by quite a margin. The problem you have with Bertin at T6 is the DD's she meets, which would easily be able to penetrate her. At any ranges, sometimes even with HE. It's not competetive. Gallisionere though is essentially a Cleveland with a turret less and less AA, but torps. At T7, her armament just wouldn't cut it. Basically, you have set wrong preconditions. You are forcing some ships in tiers where they might be able to compete when buffed beyond IRL performance while not thinking about how to maybe better group them without doing that. Suffren is a prime example, what do you want to give her to compete with the other cruisers at T8? Worst guns, worst armour, not particularly good speed, not a very large displacement (so not a lot of HP). Why force her into T8 to have Gallisionere at T7, while you have a seriously subpar ship at T6 already? Also, while Algerie is decently armoured, it's not far above the competitors. Yes, it has been one of the best treaty cruiser designs, but a treaty cruiser nonetheless. At T9, there are no treaty cruisers anymore. It's guns did not fire faster than other cruisers at T8 (there is a difference between paper values and plannes values during construction: it never reached the 6rpm it was supposed to do during the design stage) with 12 to 15 seconds. Only 8 guns with that kind of RPM at T9? No thanks. Again, you COULD buff her ahistorically to somehow get her to compete, but why should you when there is a better solution available? Another problem is the penetration: at 820m/s, it has a lower velocity than any other 203mm gun in the game, while firing a shell that is very much comparable in shellweight (about the same as the German 20.3cm/60 SK/C 34 of Hipper, fired at 920m/s; and only slighty above the 8" Mk. 9-14 used on the New Orleans class, firing at 853 m/s). We are looking at a very subpar gun here, which absolutely balances out her advantages in armour.

    Return of XVM?

It is and always was an overstated problem. Even in WoT, where it is apparently the root of all evil, ho often do you actually see people using that information to insult people in chat etc? Yeah, rarely, veeeery rarely. And those who do that are already doing that here as well, they just use a browser and a second monitor...

    The French Cruiser's Thing

That depends on your T3 candidate. I'm rather sure we will see something like the St. Louis again (no, not Edgar Quinet, which probably could compete at T4 or even T5). These ships, with HE and AP, will be fine at T3 to T7. Certainly. *Quick look at the stats* Right now, out of the 5 ships most played on EU the last two weeks on T6, 4 are cruisers. Out of the top 10 it's 5. T7: 4/10 (Not even a premium here!) T8: Obvious spot where things are a bit more difficult as there are a LOT of popular BB's at that tier, but still: 4 out of 10. So, sorry these ships are far from dead. The MM just doesn't distribute them very well, so a wrong perception emerges.

    The French Cruiser's Thing

Be very careful what you wish for. Even without heals, these ships perform just fine. They don't need a heal.
  19. Earl_of_Northesk

    The French Cruiser's Thing

Edgar Quinet is waaaaaay overpowered at T3, scrap that. Duquesne is fine at T5 maybe. Emil Bértin is also too weak for T6, put Gallisionere there and get Suffren on T7, as Suffren is too weak for T8 anyway. Same for Algerie, too weak to be a T9, so let it replace Suffren at T8. T9 will be Saint Louis, T10 the follow up design I can't be bothered to find right now, maybe later if you are really interested.

    The French Cruiser's Thing

The British wouldn't need it if it wasn't for their absolutely appalingly crap armament till you reach T6. We shouldn't make that a habbit for every cruiser now.

    Return of XVM?

First of all, there is no evidence here that it is back, so calm down. Second of all, who the f*ck cares... But please, let's not redo all that discussions again.

why does russia get cold war era ships

Is there any place for A-150, H-44 or Unryu in the game? Outside a hypothetical Tier 11? No. Hey, here is your answer why we don't have those! Amazingly easy.
