Be positive!!! Help the good and nice players.
Hanse77SWE replied to Furius_Marius's topic in General Discussion
I would like to see the Karma-system rebuilt so that only positive Karma counts and at the end of the month you get a small reward based on how many points you have. On the first of the month it resets and starts over. Enforce the positive. -
There are no limits to the number of a specific AL captain so if you have Nelson you can get her again.

Back in the old days when there were only IJN and USN the word was "if you're going to play DDs, start with the USN." The USN DD having shorter range torps meant that you had to plan and really set up your attack rather than the long range "Torpedo-soup" that the IJN used. Learning this playstyle first helped the transition to IJN but if you did it the other way around you had to learn from the start, again. USN playstyle worked in IJN but not the other way around. Russian DDs are a bit the same but they have the HP and speed to YOLO once in a while. I agree that RN CLs is not a good place to start for a new player if he/she doesn't take the time to learn about autobounce, fuse time, smoke firing and stuff like that. Also, the notorious weak armour of the RN CLs makes them hard to play even when you don't use your guns.

The shop would benefit from having a "shopping cart". Less bundles but you can choose what you want and perhaps get a discount based on how many items you have in your cart.

About in game foul language, insults and being offended

Cursing is an artform. If you use the right word at the right time in the right context with the right people, then it sounds wonderful and enhances what you just said. If not, then you've just made a fool of yourself and shown that you are NOT, the captain of your soul. So if you don't know the right word at the right time, what the context is or the people around you, the safest bet is to not curse at all. -
More Rewards for Twitch Prime Members!
Hanse77SWE replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
I claimed my loot on Twitch and it took a while before it showed up ingame. About half an hour I'd say. EDIT: It might have helped that I restarted the game. -
It looks like the collection is the same as last time. Is this true? EDIT: Never mind. Just found out it is the same.

Personal statement regarding players with toxic behaviour :(
Hanse77SWE replied to Captain_82's topic in General Discussion
I really don't like this "If you're not doing EXACTLY what I would have done then you're doing it wrong"-mentality. We are all different and do things in different ways and no amount of raging in chat are gonna change that. -
What other games are you playing at the moment?

No thanks! I won't spend a week worth of grocery money on a pice of undergarment. -
Good luck and don't stress. It takes thousands of matches to learn just the basics for all the classes and your highest tier right now is T6. My advices: Play everything! Play all the T1s, then the T2s and so on. You'll learn all the basics before you reach the high tiers, you'll learn the all the ships, all the maps, all the mechanics and controls. Don't buy premiums above your comfort zone! Yeah, a T8 is a good creditmaker but only if you can handle it. You'll waste you money and frustrate youself and your team-mates. Don't stress! Reaching T10 doesn't mean you've beaten the game. This game only ends when you've had enough and if you don't learn then you'll have enough long before you get to T10. (a.k.a "Rage quit") Compare yourself to others! Look at the leaderboards and see how you stack up against others. What do they do different? What do I need to change in my playstyle? To get to where you want to be you first have to know where you are. If you want the game to last and get the most of it: Take your time and learn in any way you can. ARP Takao has been available two or three times in five years and there's nothing that says that she'll ever come back. Don't hold your breath.

No. I use my Montana captain in: Montana (ofc), Missouri, Alabama, West Virginia 1941, Arizona and Texas But for the Massachusetts and the Georgia I use another captain that has more of a secondary build. They work fine with the Montana captain but what the hell, just for the LOLs. My Yamato captain works in: Yamato, Musashi, Kii, Ashitaka, Mutsu and Mikasa In the ARP Kongos I use their own captains, same for the Ignis Purgatio. Just because it feels right to have the special captain who came with the special ship. Ishizuchi on the other hand I use my Zao captain. This because the Ishizuchi works more like a cruiser than a battleship. I also use the Zao-captain in: Yoshino, Azuma and Atago. The ARP Myokos and Southern Dragon keeps their own. But in Katori, Yubari and Yahagi I use my Shimakaze captain to get better use of the torps or my Harugumo captain if I want to play them as gunboats. The more ships you can use the same captain in, the faster he will level up and when he get to 19 points he will pull in alot of ECXP to use to level up other captains. When I worked my way up the german DD-line I fell in love with the Z-23 so I decided to let it keep its captain and start with a new in the Z-46. This means that instead of moving up my best captain I had to start with a new one and when he got to the Z-52 he was "under-trained". I train him extra by using him in the T-61 and the new Z-35. The Z-39 on the other hand I use the Z-23s captain who has 19 points and is better build for a 150 mm ship. But that also means that the CXP I gain from the Z-39 will end up on the Z-52s captain anyway via the ECXP. To get back to the question about the flags. I don't use flags on the tech-tree ship the captain is trained on but rather on the premiums he has a "second job". Since premiums have a built-in-booster you get more CXP/flag by doing so and that helps the tech-tree ship the captain is trained for. P.S. Sorry for long text. D.S. A low-mid tier premium works better for that. Atago meets T10s and you wont do well in a Atago with a full DD-build captain in. Atago works great for training cruiser-commanders. If you need to train your japanese DD-captain, get a premium DD for the job. Shinonome is cheap, Yudachi, Asashio and AL Yukikaze costs more. Example: It doesn't matter as much if you have a captain with "Smoke Screen Expert" on your Warspite as it would if you did it on the Vanguard. Warspite does fine with 12 out of 14 points being "active". On the Vanguard on the other hand you'll need every point to do something useful. "Adernaline Rush" is a much better use of two points on a battleship than "Smoke Screen Expert". Warspite can handle it, Vanguard can't. TL;DR: If you're gonna use one ship to train all types of commanders: Get a mid tier, they are more forgiving.

Play everything! That's how you learn. You don't have to memorize all the numbers but it helps to remember what ships have bad concelment, slow turrets, long reload, number of torps and stuff like that. As you play these things they will start to stick in you head and you'll know just from looking at the team lineup what you need to do. As for radar range: You have 190 battles and radar starts at tier 7. You shouldn't even be thinking about how radar works yet. Learn to crawl before you learn how to run.
-
They pay off better in the premium ships. I tend to use my best captains in the premiums so when they reach 19 points the Elite Commander XP starts to build. Then I use the ECXP to level up other captains.
-
I have one each for the 208 tech-tree ships i have in port. 22 for unique premiums. 100 captains sits in reserve. It's easier to have a low-point captain in a ship you seldom play than have to move them around and retrain. Plus it doesn't take up any space in the reserve. Tip: If you have captains in the reserve and want to retrain one for a new ship. Use those you've gotten with premium ships first. I've found that it helps when I want to rebuy a ship and I already have a captain trained for that ship in my reserve.

What do you do when the game hates you?

Hate it back. -
I use nothing but the 150 mm. Everybody talks about DPM but forgets about the lager blast, X2 firechance and the fact that you knock out modules on every hit with 150 mm. Well enough to make up for 1 440 less DPM. 128 mm w/o BFT = 90 000 (6%) 128 mm with BFT = 100 000 (6%) 150 mm = 98 560 (12%)

I'd say go by your gut and don't be afraid to go back down if it feels like your in over your head.

Here's my GK build: The thing is that I'm a co-op main and bots don't run. This build focuses on one thing and one thing only: "How much damage can I get before the match is over?" GK is a great battering-ram and can really "lead the charge". Problem is it can't do it alone and as long as the rest of the team camps, the GK has to stay back and do stuff it's not good at. GK is a great ship, if the team knows how to play around it.
