I don't blame WG. I'm on the board of a housing cooperative and every time we hand out a paper with info some of those papers end up on the floor infront of the mailboxes. A couple of weeks later when the changes we informed about starts we get swamped with people asking why they were not told about this upcomming change. These are the same people that never attends the anual meeting where we elect the board and decide other important stuff. An average share is worth around €50k but most of the members doesn't seem to care that the can lose that money AND get thrown out of their home if they don't follow the rules. Sad. Why do I mention this? Because it's the same thing in the game. The information is there but some players are too stupid/lazy/busy to care and that's the real problem. How do I know that the info is out there? Because I found it and so did most of the people that also found this forum. I agree with you on some parts but you are generalizeing too much. We can't put all of the blame on WG. Some of it has to be on the shoulders of those bad players. There are things that can be done but I'm afraind it's too late for that. The cat is out of the bag and no change of the games economics or a new set of rules will change that.

When I play low/mid-tiers most of my captains have 3-6 points. Some might have 10-12 but that's not many of them. Fact is that even with a 3-pointer I still do better than 90% of my team. So as someone said: Skill/experience > Points on the captain.

Did you get what you wanted from New Years Gifts and Rewards?
Hanse77SWE replied to DFens_666's topic in General Discussion
The only things I "missed" were the steel and portslots and stuff from dir. 4 and up. I'm just 419 steel short of getting the Flint. Apart from that I got everything I wanted and I paid less than I had planned. The biggest downer was that out of the four-week event I really didn't have anything to do after the first two weeks. Spent the last two week just faffing about. Feels like the whole event was a bit of "meh". -
Yeah, you could practically demount the torps on the Mogador and Kleber now.

Obviously Indomitable needs to be reworked to become a playable ship
Hanse77SWE replied to Takina_Inoue_Lycoris's topic in General Discussion
I've said it before and I'll say it again and I'll keep on sayin' it untill the end of days it seems. CVs doesn't belong in this game. They can outrun, outspot and outrange any other class in the game without even trying. All this while at the same time being out of range of and untouchable by any other shipclass there is. -
Too soon to say. Play another 1 000 battles and ask again.

No, I bought the Gorizia. That is a separate thing since I wanted her. That helped me to get the 8 500. I paid for the ship but I got the doubloons for free by playing. The 4 000 I got for free when I got a T6 premium that I already had at the WoWs birthday. The 5 000 I got from free crates. The last 7 300 i opened my wallet for and for those €23 (+ €20 for the Gorizia) I got all this: Yes, I got the Ark Royal in a free crate as well. All I played was this (in co-op): From the snowflakes I got: 67 410 coal (+7% clanbonus) 5 355 steel (+5% clanbonus) and 28 free crates. (I've reported in another thread what I got from those.) If I'd paid for the all of it it would have been €260. I paid €43 and played for two weeks in co-op. That's good enough for me. I knew I wouldn't be able to grind it for free so I did the math and this was the cheapest way for me. Yes, I could've saved more money if I played more but that would've meant not celebrating Xmas with my family for one thing and I already have one stress related disease and I would rather not have another one thank you very much. It's not about getting stuff for free. It's about getting as good a deal as I can with a balance of money and time spent. I feel that I got what I wanted without breaking me or my bank account in the process. Fact is that I've never spent this little money or spent this little time on the game in any of the previous Xmases so in that sense WG would've gotten more money out of me if they hadn't done the PR-event. Then I've would've bought the Gorizia, some crates AND a full year of premium (ca. €80).
-
Had ca. 4 000. (Got those from a premium I already had a couple of months ago.) Got 8 500 from the Gorizia. Got ca. 5 000 from free crates.

Four of the regular and all three of the "gold" ones. Got the first two without buying anything and needed just 7 300 gold for the last one. Spent about €25 and two weeks playing co-op on the whole thing. Stopped at directive three. I've never spent so little money or so little time on the game in the Xmas season.
-
I got the PR today but I've spend less and played less this Xmas than any Xmas before. I had a budget and I still have half of it left. WG didn't "lose" any money but they shure as hell didn't earn more either. What they have lost is the trust of the playerbase and that can be worth more than money.

Nothing new here. Just another "I don't like them, therefore they must be crap"-thread.

Cruisers and battleships for a newcomer
Hanse77SWE replied to aolynk112994's topic in Newcomers' Section
Yes, really. Play all of them. All the T1s, then all the T2s and so on. You'll learn the ships, the maps and the controls. If you've been away for that long you might as well start over again. Plus the game lasts longer that way to. -
Played for over five hours today. Morning and evening. No problems what so ever.
-
I love the stealth and the fast turrets. But my rule of thumb is to shoot HE at everything but BBs giving broadside. It feels like AP either overpens or bounces.
-
That is correct.
-
It doesn't show untill you reach stage IV. At stage V it falls to 25k and at stage VI to 15k.
-
Don't be so quick to blame the server. 35 ms here.
-
Don't remove the caps. Remove the pointcounter.

WG are you gonna release the % when it comes to boxes?
Hanse77SWE replied to kapnobathrac's topic in General Discussion
Problem is that people expect to get the rare stuff when they buy a lottery ticket/loot crate. There were 86 different ships so just by that alone it's a 1/86 chance (not including ships you already have) to get the ship you want. Lower your expectations and you will avoid alot of "pain". The trick is to look at the lowest prize and ask yourself if that is worth the money. If the answer is "no" then you shouldn't buy any crates/ticket at all. For me, I've opened over 40 crates and got just one ship (Ark Royal) and I'm fine with that because I didn't spend any money at all. -
No. DD's runs in and farm everything in the first two minutes and it's enough just to sink four ships to end the match. Result: half of the bots are still alive but the game is over and the BB's haven't had time to do anything but fire two salvos at bow-on targets. Removing the pointsystem should be enough to make the games last longer and making them more fun. Longer games means that you don't have to yolo in to get just some damage done before the points run out. The bots are fine as they are but I can't recall a single co-op game that was lost by the players on points. When players lose it's because the bots push and focuses fire on a single target. It doesn't help when a player just rushes in, rams a bot and leaves his only teammate on that flank to face 2-4 ships alone. But that is a minor problem with a WR of around 99%. Short games happens 9/10 and thus is a bigger problem.
-
This is a problem as it's not fun. A game should be fun. This has nothing to do with co-op. Same things happens in Randoms. I find this being somewhat a problem. Co-op is meant to be casual/easy/low key. You shouldn't lose credits while playing that kind of gamemode. +-0 I can understand but not having to pay through the nose just to take a stroll in your T10 (or any other tier).

What "rare" ships do you have ? And how did you get them ?

How is everyone getting on with Puerto Rico grind?
Hanse77SWE replied to SergeantJav77's topic in General Discussion
Will get the PR round about the 7th. Costed me about €23 and the "grind" was done knocking of snowflakes in co-op. -
Happend to me both yesterday and today in co-op.
