One way to avoid this is to have just one "lottery" but you can choose if you want to pay with tokens or doubloons. Then of course, there are way better ways than having a lottery at all.

I did the whole thing in eight days, in co-op and scenarios. The last two chains was done in two days this weekend. Already had all the ships but 21M credits will come in handy as well as five portslots. 42k CXP in one game. Not bad.

But what BB? There are some pretty big differences between them you know. For what flank, you work the flank where you spawned. It's just a waste of time to switch flanks, especially if you're in a slow BB like the americans. "It's better to act than to react" but sometimes you have to act upon what the enemy does and now it comes down to options. "Choose the option that gives you the most options." There is no simple answer to this question. Just keep playing and you'll learn. Sometimes things change and the stuff that worked six months ago doesn't work anymore. Play a couple of thousand games in all the classes and you'll discover what works for you.

I'd say there is no "One plan solves all" thing. It depends on so many things. What ship are you in? What ships does your teammates have? What ships are on the enemy team? How does everybody else act? Should I push/defend? What is happening on the other flank? The only advice I can give is: Look how others play. How does it work out for them? Under what circumstances did this happen? Try stuff but for the love of god do it in low/mid-tier games. Good luck!

Run a WGCheck?

Picked up 30 token-bundles. Got one ship that I already got from a doubloon-bundle. I feel vaguely cheated.

Anyone else disappointed by the Swedi... Pan-EU DD line
Hanse77SWE replied to MutsuAraAra's topic in General Discussion
I can't think of more of a waste of time than being dissapointed that your fantasy didn't come true. If I walked around doing that I'd be constantly depressed and/or angry. Don't expect things and you'll neve be dissapointed. "A pessimist always gets happy surprises." - Me -
Anyone else disappointed by the Swedi... Pan-EU DD line
Hanse77SWE replied to MutsuAraAra's topic in General Discussion
How is it possible to be disappointed by something that isn't released yet? -
I spend alot of duobloons on bundles. I won't say how much. Got three ships. Tiers 5, 6 and 8. I think I missed one bundle so far on the token ones and I've got one ship. The tier 5. Which I already had. So if I hadn't bought the gold-bundles I've had one ship. Which I already had unlocked through the T4. (Had the XP on the T4.) I don't like this concept. I believe that if you do the missions you should get the reward. Not "Do the mission and you MIGHT get the reward". This is just one big lottery. WG might as well do alottery without the missions and give out randoms ships among the players.

Just got rid of some extremly inactive members so we now have room for five new ones. Welcome!

Return of the Fleet of Fog: Last Chance!

12 missions in 13 days? I play every day and I feel that I'll have to put some extra coal in the boiler to get this done. I have all the ships and all the captains so for me it's more a test to see if I can do the whole set. Also. Found this on my harddrive. Time to re-binge? -
48% is decent AFAIK. Can't win them all.
-
Oh, but it's always true. In love and war both. You should try it.

*Cutting it down a bit.* Many well said things there. My advice is , as you say, not to rush. Stay at a tier untill it becomes almost boring. Then move on. When I first reached T9 I got slaughtered. I sold my Fletcher and moved back to the Benson. I played everything up to T8, unlocked all the T9s and stayed there. After a while I got bored. Bought the Iowa, it worked well so I moved on. What many players don't understand that this isn't a "speedrun" game. There are no prizes for getting to T10. This game is very much "journey is more valuable than the destination". Stop and smell the flowers, you won't lose anything by doing it. I also agree that keeping missions for T5 and above is a huge mistake. It makes about 1/4 of the ships in the game useless for "day-to-day work."

You don't have to change the ship. Just make the mechanic simpler. "I mean, how hard is it to remember DWT can't hit DDs, they go "boom" on everything else. " They have a different detection as well. "Play 2k games and more than half if not everything of that list will be second nature to most players." How many will stay 2k games? "German ships, japanise 100mm and british BBs have 1/4 HE pen, everyone else 1/6 except bayard which is 1/5. Just by hanging around forums/reddit you'll hear that 10 times a day." How many does that and how do they know that's where they have to go? "Wows wiki is full of educational articles, wows webpage had a series "how it works" , CCs regularly educate, answer questions and in general teach new players. Information is accessible, for those that are willing to look for it." And how do they find the Wiki? Have you read the Wiki? The whole thing? Do that first and then we carry on this talk. "The issue is not if the game is complicated or not.... Issues are players that are not willing to improve. You can simplify the game all you want you'll still have DDs torping from 2nd or 3rd row, you'll still have players sailing full broadside, you'll still have players not looking at the map or trying to win harder, you'll still have Tirpitzs trying to torp a target that is 12km away... " Yes, most players suck but how easy is it to get better? I've played this game a long time and so have you but just playing the "git gud"-card every time isn't the way to go. New players must have a way to find out whay we picked up during years of playing. We can't expect them to know what we know and if we want new players to stick around then we have to make the learningcurve less steep. And since you are not interested in discussing the subject, then I have no interest in talking to you. Good day Sir.

To predict were to shoot your torps you have to know how a BB-captain thinks. You do that by playing BBs. Got torped by a cruiser? If you'd played that cruiser you'd known if he has torps, how many, what range they have and what angles they fire at. Play all classes to learn all classes. Know your enemy.
-
Yes, they are being diminishd but they are still there. And you DO have to learn at least some of them unless you want to be a punshing bag. It's the shere number of stuff that makes it difficult. Five different types of XP. Four different currencies (plus the temporary currencies). The 41 different upgrades. The 32 different captainskills. The 17 different consumables. The 25 different signal flags. The >40 keyboard commandos. And this ontop of all the things already mention. I once explained to a WoT play the differences between WoT and WoWs. After one hour he stoped me. Yesterday, in game, I helped explain to a guy in a Yamato how to get his secondarys to work! No, the game could be simplified further without losing it's "charm". More isn't always better. Yes, I am for real! No, the ships themselvs should have "personality" but the common mechanics can be made simpler. Example: In the Wiki on the chapter on HE-Shells the summary is seven (7) points long and contains in-game expressions and caveats. The summary is almost as long as the explanation! "Everything should be made as simple as possible but not simpler." - Albert Einstein Overcomplicated isn't the way to go either and the shere volume of "information" holds back many players. We always complain about how bad new players are but we're not willing to make it easier for them either. How does that pan out?

Weekly Combat Missions: Lunar New Year
Hanse77SWE replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Perhaps you (WG) shouldn't make these events so complicate that the players have to go the the forum for clarifications. KISS = Keep It Simple Stupid -
HE-mechanics (Including keeping track of 1/6 and 1/4 penn ships) AP-Mechanics (fuse time, autobounce, penn) SAP-mechanics (What , where, when and even why?) RN light cruiser AP mechanics (Not the same as regular AP) USN Heavy AP autobounce rule (Not the same as regular AP) Deepwater torps (Not the same as regular torps) IFHE mechanics (Another level ontop of what you need to know about HE) How the citadel works (Where are they, how to "get to it") Smokefiring penaltys (Can I fire safely or not?) The different modules and parts of the ship and its separate HP-pools. (Why was that turret knocked out and why is my bow black?) Creeping smoke mechanics Exhaust Smoke Generator mechanics AA mechanics Armor mechanics All this and more are dumped in the lap of new players. I can honestly say if I began playing this game today I would probably give up straight away just because of huge amount of info you need to learn just to survive. Newish players can't cope with all this and just goes for "one playstyle fits all" and stick to that.

IIRC I did the it with one month to spare and just to help out I played as much RU cruisers (and the Leningrad) as my mental health allowed. I remember one game were I survived and thought to myself "That's not why I'm here." I also remember the game that screenshot came from. I was in the Atago and we were pushed back hard. I was on low HP and had fallen back to one flank to "catch my breath" Then! Out on the flank a Shchors fires his guns! I sneak up and fire AP salvo but he survies on just a fraction of health. "That's it, I'm dead" I think where I'm sitting with full broadside showing. He fires! A HE-salvo!? I put out the fire and now my guns have reloaded so my next salvo kills him. I screamed! After I come to my senses I type in all-chat: "That's 20! You can kill me now." We lost but I didn't care.
-
Ahhh the memories! Have it all so I won't bother. Use the Kongo and Myoko from time to time, the rest rusts in port without upgrades and with captains on half pay.
-
I agree. iChase put up a vid some time ago. It's a game form 0.4.0 or something like that and he is nostalgic about how different everything was back then. I find that the game has become too complicated. I find that the playerbase have become more toxic and unforgiving. I find that the meta has become too static and boring. I find the balance of the game to be horrible. I find the events to be copy-paste, overcomplicated and lacking valuable rewards. The new Pan-Asia premiums released two days ago are the first ones in forever that I really didn't want anything to do with. I have nightmares about the comming submarines. The core game is still viable but it's squandered by a superficial playerbase and bad business decisions. It looks like I will drop this like a bad habit as soon as I find something else that can take it's place. Sad but true.

But I do care! I care if they get hit and I care that I can't shoot because of them. It works both ways you see. Where I live the pedestrian has to show that they want to cross. But I didn't kill him. I held my fire. But the fact that he didn't care about his teammates is OK? Exactly! Thank you! You just described the actions of that guy. Why should he have to look out where he's going? That's someone else problem. But it didn't take ages. He turned in right infront of me. Here's the root of the problem. You don't know the whole story but you still decied to judge me. That's the problem. We don't know so we can't say anything on why someone is pink. We can't put the blame on them just because of that so why do we do it? 39 second reload. If I shoot now I can reload and hit him again as he comes around the Island. Those torps only do 6k so you have to fire alot to get any work done. And there are many places he could have gone. He could have stayed where he were. He could've headed North to hunt for the BBs. He could have turned South and use his 130 mm guns on the broadside cruiser. But instead he did the only thing that put him in the way of my torp. What are the odds? No. Wrong again.
