What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Hanse77SWE replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
I managed to shoot down a friendly plane AND got a warning for it. -
I've played 7 000 randoms in >300 ships. I suggest you match that before claiming that you are bored.
-
And that's the reason, boys and girls, I play co-op. No camping just good old brawling.

My thought is that you shouldn't be able to buy a special/premium ship that is more than one tier over your highest played. If WG thought about it it would mean that they would sell even more ships since in that case they buy a T3, then a T4, then a T5 and so on. But this isn't the only problem. Players that rush/fail up a line is also bad. I would like to see a system where you have to pass a "skill test" as well as gather XP for each tier. Like "Tank 1M in one game" if it's a BB. "Spot 100k" if it's a DD and so on. This would mean that it wouldn't be enough just to grind but you would also have to show that you understand the mechanics and how to use them.
-
Doesn't matter. CVs can kill you wherever you are.

I just saw that the Isokaze (T4) have the same dmg/torp as Småland (T10). Not cool. (Even worse considered the Iso have six tubes that reloads twice as fast as Smålands eight tubes.) I've put the whole set of torps into a BB without killing it. I've even put three torps into a Yorck and he survived. The only positive thing to say is that they have an uniqe playstyle.

A game should be played without mods for the same reasons whiskey should be taken without ice. If it's not good enough on it's own, then it's not good enough. Vanilla FTW!
-
You mean this one? Screenshot less than 30 s. old. Vanilla client.
-
I don't have time to sit through three hours of stream to get five seconds worth of information.
-
I have no problems at all.
-
I use F12 ("Thank You!") whenever I take FF.

European Tokens, WG's RNG at it's finest

It's strange when a "simple" event needs five pages in the forum to "explain" how it works. -
Co-Op points are point-less!
Hanse77SWE replied to Close_Quarters_Expert's topic in General Discussion
I agree. It happens waaay too often that a game is over too soon. Even more annoying when the bots all go one side so when you push forward just to find nothing and you spend the whole game just trying to get some shots in before the end. Par this with the low "profit" and you can walk away from a co-op with a huge credit-loss just because some bot "decided" that the grass were greener on the other side. -
European Destroyers: Early Access

I'm gonna pick up the Småland just because I have 2M FXP and nothing else to use it on. That and the fact that she's Swedish. For the rest of it, nah, won't bother. I take what I can get by playing at my regular pace and after that I'll just grind up the line like I always do. -
You're making the same misstake as most players. To go up one line. Play everything, every class of every nation. It'll work out better in the end as you will have more experience and knowledge about the ships and their capabilities.
-
With 200 played games you shouldn't be good at anything yet. You have clearly reached your limit for the time being. Move back down and do what I did. Play all the T1s, then all the T2s and so on. Experience comes with time, not with the tier.
-
I agree that high tier premiums should be locked in some way but you better take down those pics Before the mods do it for you. I would like to see that you can't buy/use a premium untill you have reached that tier or at least the tier below.
-
Do what I did. Go full 2ndary build and do 60-80% of your damage with the guns.

I've had some thought about it. Should all ships have it? No. Not at the start. That would just clutter things up and make it complicated. It could be a captainskill but then if everybody takes that skill then we have the same problem all over again. Better to start with just one class at low tiers, perhaps expand it in the higherups. Example. T1-3. No air-strikes. T4-6: One strike/ship, only BBs and just one active at the same time/team. T7-9 Two strikes/ship, BBs and crusiers and two active at the same time/team. T10: Three strikes/ship, BBs, cruisers and DDs and three active at the same time/team. Should it be aimed at a ship or at an area? I can see good and bad with both ways. If aimed at an area it could be used for scouting and not as a strike so I would say it has to be aimed at a ship. If it is aimed at a ship, must that ship be in viewrange or just spotted on the minimap? I'd say in viewrange otherwise players from all over the map would focus one poor sod all the time. You have to have eyes on what you are calling the strike on. How many strikes? Each ship that have it should have a limited number of strikes, I'd say no more than three max, and there should be and limited number of active strikes at the same time for the whole team. You call the strike, aircraft comes in from off-map, they do mulitple strikes (much like now) mixing torp and bombattacks. When all drops are done the surviving planes fly off the map. Now since your "Air-strike" is on cool-down it's someone elses turn to use his strike. This means that if a player uses all his "strikes" early in the game he might miss out at the end and the player that saves his strikes might have an advantage in the late game. A hardcap on the number of simultaneous active airstrikes/team means that if that cap is reached at the moment, you can't call in a strike even if you are not on cool-down. You'll have to wait for a "strike-slot" to available. The number of planes could also be set after type of ship, nation and tier. The strikeforce could be mixed torps, bombs and rockets and the mix could also depend on nation, ship class and so on. A bit like it is now but instead of the same type of plane in the entire squadron it can be mixed up. Two flights of torps and one flight of bombs for example. IJN being more torpheavy, USN more bombs and so on. Balance can be tweeked by multiple means. For example: Number of planes/strike Damage/hit HP/plane Planes speed Number of strikes Length of cooldown and so on... As I see it it should be used not a deathblow but as a way to put more pressure on a certain opponent so he has to split his attention between multiple threats. A sort of harassment. A bit like how the CV works in co-op but rather that the players decide when and where the strikes will happen. This is not a finished concept and I don't claim it to be perfect but it's a start. There's a bit of a language-barrier here but I hope it makes sense.

I doubt it. But it would be nice. It's been in use since the 1620s. You (and everybody else) can visit the ship here: https://www.maritiman.se/en/fleet/destroyer-smaland together with a whole lot of other ships and boats. -
