I agree 100%. CVs can get nerfed in some places while still being powerful (as long as it isnt mechanic/rng nerfs like mvr.......)

I've not read up on this thread in a while (aaand ign change since i had gold sitting on wot) , but look at what killed MvR. It was not: Plane speed Rocket Damage Bomb Damage Torp Damage Flak Damage Fighters Subs CV Survivability what killed it was the mechanic change for rockets and the APDB dispersion super nukes (there was more than 1) CVs are in "weird" state where they are a bit too strong imo but if they get nerfed they get to weak to fast. for a balanced game historical stuff will have to sacrificed. (you missed a lot) and i still think doing a general survey will get biased numbers as people who are not in a neutral state (most likely people who dislikes cvs and would want to remove them) might make the results unusable by anyone (unless they want biased numbers) the second cat is making them kill subs even easier, cv ASW is OP since it is 90-100% accurate (as in always direct hit) I am going of the current state of the game not devblog NDA topics (and i will not discuss them either)

Mino is not the best AA ship nor near the best. Mino will make CVs not attack you if there are easier targets but it will attack you over no "no fly zones" like hallands or defaa Annapolis. also every squad you dodge is time wasted for CVs and CVs are in a race against time. you waste enough of their time their impact will be reduced significantly. he comes at you with a torp squad you dodge him and congratz he wasted the flight time to you and attack time on you and he did nothing. dont think of CVs like a surface ship (they're not, that's kind of the point). But trying to shot down planes with no aa is like trying to tank a yamato with 32mm armor... This is just the current state of CVs. If you have no AA you need to blob with your team the two blob meta works well to help no AA ships not get nuked at the start (two blob meta, team splits in 2 groups 4-8 ships per and they sitt so close a cv can only get 1 attack of unless max/soviet have you ever been on Asia? or NA? Asia is the complete opposite of EU. Instead of people yolo pushing, everyone has rangemod and caps are no go zones and the CV player is base. Every server has their own "meta" its not just copies of each other. Go find some clips on youtube (a lot of replay channels) find some asia, eu and na and see how things are different. Again i stand by this: Balancing something in the game based on one server has a good chance of being catastrophic on another server. I'm not saying you are plain bad, but there are many players and a majority of them probably don't know what overmatch is...

Asking what a "plain bad" player thinks will only make things worse imo. i agree with the poll being meaningless if put here. There are changes to CVs like the triple nerf to MvR (rest in peace...) also if you make a change it could be a nerf on EU due to EU meta but a buff on ASIA since ASIA meta. WG has to change it on all servers not just one... also please dont come with some "give vermont 10km hydro" ideas but for AA ships....

this is implying the ship is miss playing extremely hard in that situation (like yoloing mid in a GK...) If you know how CVs work, how game mechanics work and how to negate things you can make a CV waste time on you aka making said carrier useless for the enemy team I am not the best CV player, but im far from the worst.

i have not tried it with super cvs as their special squads, I can see the advantage but Super CVs can get soo much damage with standard CV build anyway and you don't want to be too close in them as they need distance to target for angle of approach anyway

Its not a skill, its a meme. Hidden Menace is a meme. the only "use" I ever found for it was 1. Kaga Stealth meme build 2. MvR fast immunity bombers (the MvR bombers fly soo high that when you run hidden menace the bombers will get to safety faster even with the slow speed but you might have to be funky with when you drop to do it "right" not done it in ages how ever) the MvR and Kaga HM tests never went beyond training room for me as I didn't want to retrain a 21pt for HM build and with the Nerf train to MvR... well lets just say she is a glorified port queen now. The draw back about this skill is Time it takes planes to get back and its a 4 pointer. Using this skill on CVs without a insane hanger capacity like Kaga, you might find yourself with all your planes in the air... on the way back the carrier... I tried to make the skill work somehow but gave up as a normal CV build would just be better. Hidden Menace is the THE least used 4 pointer. All the others have more use and are used more. Torp damage is good since more damage. Bomb plane speed is good since speed is good for faster and more strikes in. I see a lot more secondary memes than hidden menace (just look at any GZ enjoyer). Flak damage reduction is good for certain CVs. and Super fighters for when you really want to spot people for 2min and lock on enemy planes in 0.0000001 seconds. All of those skills are useful and has game impact that out preforms Hidden menace. I would love hidden menace to be good but it is not sadly. 3 pointer skills outperform it. TLDR Hidden Menace bad. Pls buff. Don't use. I am not saying I'm the best player. Nor am I saying I'm right. These are just my thoughts on the skill. (and I probably missed a lot of points)

in the game Closed Alpha Tester (CAT) and Closed Beta Testers (CBT) get a fancy ship and a fancy "alpha/beta" tester on their forum profile, while Open Beta testers only get the B badge as far as i am aware yes yes i know OBT (Open beta testers) did not do as much nor have to get early access as it was free to play but it would be nice if they also got something more?

i have seen people say this, but make you own unique name, there will always be a HMS Warspite, a Bismarck etc, a lot of people make their names something WWII related and this the game is flooded with it... how ever to remove a players name for inactivity is just not fair, maybe they had not choice but to stop playing for a year or 2? its a dilemma yes but i don't think it will ever move to the point where old players will be just renamed to "Renamed_User_14221421214"
