Will need instructions that an idiot would be ashamed to be asking for to get onto this - the PC idea is dead - completely unplayable - I think I need to play with settings and there is not enough time - so Mac it is!

Edinburgh is good - you will find it much easier than the Neptune after the Fiji. Has stunning heal, much better than Fiji - seems bigger though and less favourable opponents. The citadel is not as easy to hit as the Neptune's though.

It just shows - I found the Pensacola as enjoyable as having teeth pulled - only made better by then having the New Orleans. I did buy it twice thinking maybe I had got better and might enjoy it more, but it was as fragile as I remembered and the turret traverse incredibly slow. Might be better now it is not seen from the moon but not bought it again!

The problem with tiers 5 and 6 is that you always get uptiered - Warspite is great but not against the Bismarck and Amagi.

Does the Chapaev have radar always? I thought it needed the upgraded hull. but I don't play the Russian line so could be wrong.

Far better - game-play faster and people friendlier. I suppose at Tier 9 and 10, having someone mess up costs you credits and the economy is a lot tougher. At Tier 7, I almost never make a loss, even if I make a complete bish of things. At that level, people will laugh, sometimes at you, sometimes with you. The competition is still excellent and much less camping on the whole. But I do have nearly 300 million credits so the economy bit is completely irrelevant now.

I don't think anyone disagrees - but I imagine 12 v 12 will be quite a funny joke!!

"GG EZ": do we need cross team chat ?
triumphgt6 replied to AlwaysBadLuckWithTeams's topic in General Discussion
I regularly compliment enemy team members when they play well and get kind remarks back. Don't bother with insults - they don't help and make no difference if someone doesn't want to play the way you want him to. -
Battle of Jutland - still a no show in WOWS
triumphgt6 replied to G01ngToxicCommand0's topic in General Discussion
Well I care quite a lot - several thousand men died in these three ships: the battle was a tragedy for those who lost relatives but there again all wars are tragedies caused by politicians or monarchs - but it is rarely these that die. Lucky for use we can play a game where no-one is hurt except their pride! -

I think the Germans could claim the victory, but the end result was that the HSF did not venture out again in force except to surrender. But it really doesn't matter now, though it clearly mattered a lot then. Both sides fought bravely and the Germans were quite lucky, as was the Warspite. It is likely that poor safety practices in the Royal Navy, trying to increase the rate of fire, accounted for a number of the losses. Once the RN battleships are out, a re-enactment in the training room could be interesting. I dare say Hood will have to represent all the Battlecruisers! -
I do think CV players get the most abuse as some players don't seem to understand how difficult these ships are to play. Come across someone who is very good and they can make your day very bad! But play as a team and even a good player will struggle. It does seem they can't really win - if no good, they get reported by their team; if unicum, they get reported by the opposition! I always compliment good CV play on either side as I think they need a little love from time to time. Having a CV player willing to scout in front of a capping dd or cl is a huge boon and often goes unnoticed by the rest of the team.

I mainly play at Tier 7 - not good enough at 9 or 10 - but when I play, I always look at the composition of the other team to see if it is going to be a hard time. I mainly play Fiji, Belfast and Atlanta and sometimes a destroyer. There are certain ships that I don't like seeing on the other side - Belfast is one and Scharnhorst is another. There are others that I reckon are there for the taking - Shchors and Yorck are certainly in that group as are Myokos. Easy to citadel and not very quick firing. And no radar so nothing like the same threat. Clearly my views are from a very CL point of view so I cannot talk from a battleship angle though I do sometimes take out a BB - I don't really play the German line so, apart from the new Hood, most are rather slow and I get bored!

Why does not ships return to harbor after the fight
triumphgt6 replied to AdmirM84's topic in General Discussion
I take it you mean they could be seen to sail back into your harbour - I can see this being very good looking but most players would find it a waste of time - the container system seems to annoy some. -
Wargaming, address misuse of the report system!

I played with you in one battle and you were nothing but courteous. And that is before I knew you were on the forum. I confess to not really using chat that much except to say where I was going or to congratulate people. And to tell people not to go down the middle in Two Brothers!! Never been chat banned though get reported from time to time, usually after a good game!! Karma at 94 when I last looked! -
I play on a Mac but my daughter has brought home her all singing gaming lap top! And has agreed to let me use it! Will have to download the game onto it again though! I can do Sunday probably - do play tennis in the afternoon but have permission to don my sailor's cap after that! I think it fair to say that my Mikasa does not show my game at its best.... Can't I bring the one with the camouflage that makes it look like a Fiji?!
-
Have a good time - I am out that night as my daughter will be back from University and we are having a celebration meal out. I hope someone will make a replay!

Make XP score higher if at centre of map and less if on boundary.
-
Manual secondaries are spectacular - if looking to do the tasks with secondary damage, you can do it in one battle with the Bismark - 132 secondary hits and lots of fires! And over 10km range.
-
I have only played in a division when playing the Mikasa - we had three battles and spectacularly lost all three! Truly a completely useless ship! I'm in if around!
-
5 RN, 2 USN, 1 IJN. Have a 17 point German captain, a 16 point Polish captain and a 16 point captain in my Lo Yang. Quite a few working up. The Introduction of points earned for 19 point captains which you can donate to others makes grinding captains much easier.
-
Completely agree but it won't happen! The only premium I have bought before reaching a tier was the Atlanta when I had just started - and boy was I dreadful - still am as far too gung-ho in her! I really wish I was a Flint! Otherwise have not played a premium without reaching the tier in a silver ship.

How Long Does It Take To Reach The Carolina?
triumphgt6 replied to Lotara_Sarrin's topic in General Discussion
I was appalling when I started this game - couldn't survive more than 5 minutes and blithely sailed along showing broadside - ran at a 48% win rate. Did everything I shouldn't. I love warships so decided to get better, so picked one ship that was relatively forgiving and played it till I got better. Which explains why I have over 1000 battles in the St Louis and a 57% win rate in her - which is not bad considering how badly I sucked to start with. It has affected my overall damage figures so I still look potato like, but up to Tier 7, I hold my own. The St Louis is essentially a mini battleship, so lots of armour and very forgiving and blessed with lots of fast firing guns that point everywhere! So as a fellow potato, pick a ship, and learn to play her. The South Carolina is truly awful! But get to the New Mexico, and you have a decent ship. The British cruisers are probably the most difficult up to Tier 6 where they suddenly get good. I would strongly counsel against playing them until you are better. German battleships are the best at low levels - it were still available, I would say get a premium German tier 3 BB but it isn't there any more. The other piece of advice is don't buy a premium ship at a tier you have not played at. You see a number of Tirpitz and other BBs piloted by people who clearly don't know how to use them and it must be very dispiriting for both them and their team mates. The other thing to do is to form a division and learn from each other (wonderful advice from someone who avoids divisions completely!!) This is a sure fire way of improving your win rate and your game-play. And don't give up on PvE - it does teach you how to shoot and use the controls. -
Any chance to WG ''protect'' tier 5 and 6 cruisers?
triumphgt6 replied to x16___zoom's topic in General Discussion
Would hate +/- 1 in my Fujin - only fun at tier 7. If in a tier 5 battle, the ship is too good and I make silly mistakes due to complacency. Also usually 2 CVs so if one has any brain, they spot me continuously and I have never killed a plane in over 400 battles (normally have aa off admittedly!) -
On what USN ship are you having your "Steven Seagal" captain?
triumphgt6 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Don't use him - he sounds bored. However at least he doesn't sound like a child molester unlike the British voice - I would love a Noel Coward mod! Or Jack Hawkins. -
You are planning to play with a team killer?
