Which silver ship YOU have played do you consider the most OP?
triumphgt6 replied to dCK_Ad_Hominem's topic in General Discussion
Oh, and the old Minekaze - this was the terror of the seas when I started - I have the Fujin which is the same as the un-nerfed Minekaze - clearly OP as was reported today in it! -
Which silver ship YOU have played do you consider the most OP?
triumphgt6 replied to dCK_Ad_Hominem's topic in General Discussion
In the right situation, Fiji - in my humble opinion, the high spot of the RN cruiser line. I don't fear any other Tier 7 Ca when playing except the Belfast and with team work, that is usually beatable. -
Bad teams: what do you do about them?
triumphgt6 replied to Bartleby74's topic in General Discussion
I have found myself in good teams and bad teams ; there are sometimes fantastic teams but this is rare, and there are sometimes awful teams and this is also rare. Most of the time there is a mix of good and bad players and sometimes I am good and sometimes I make a mistake and get deleted quickly. I win a bit over half the time and when playing well I come at the top or near of the score card. I do sometimes play well and lose and I do play badly and win. I do not blame my team but resolve to improve my play. I also am never salty in chat - Karma is now at 200 - but try to encourage co-operation. I always amuses me when someone starts calling the team [edited] when at the end they are poor scorers. I don't division but that is the best way to ensure that at least one other player will be playing with you and will undoubtedly improve your win rate. I also play at a tier where I feel comfortable with the odd foray into the higher tiers - on the whole the Tier X battles tend to be very static and in my experience also has the greatest variation in skill levels demonstrated by players. -
Sorry - British sense of humour! You are of course completely correct - the British use a complete mishmash of measures - beer comes in pints, as does milk, Petrol now comes in litres but mileage is always quoted in miles per gallon. Temperature is usually quoted in degrees Centigrade when cold but almost always Fahrenheit when hot. Unless it is really hot - boiling water!! At least the currency is metric - I remember when young learning how to multiply in pounds, shillings and pence. (12 pennies to a shilling, 20 shillings in a pound!) I still have my last half crown I was given as a week's pocket money - that was two shiings and sixpence - in decimal, twelve and a half p. My father used to charge his patients in guineas - one pound and one shilling.

We do - the KGV fires 10 shells!

Just go and play some games in Co-Op if it bothers you that much. Pinkness will diminish quickly.

How many 19 points captains do you have? (February 2018)
triumphgt6 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
13 - 7 of which are RN, 3 US, and 1 each for Poland, Pan Asian and Japanese. Two 18 captains - one German and another Japanese. Only play 19 point and use the Commander XP to boost the others now. But am very boring and despite having 80 ships, play about 6 of them regularly! -
Thought it was me - Ping between 10 and 300 - wildly fluctuating! No mods - vanilla to the core!!

Nicely written and thought provoking. Also agree with most of it. I play almost exclusively cruisers and have settled at Tier 7 for exactly the reasons you state. My favoured ship is the Fiji, which is simply fun to play. The Edinburgh, despite the better heal, seems slower, and far more vulnerable. And hence less fun - so I don't play it. Neptune was wrecked with the smoke changes and the citadel and I am not good enough to play the Minotaur, even though it is quite amusing!

Random battles are really just that - a mixture of random players thrown together in what is at times anything but a team. To get team play, you need to division up. Joining a clan is one way of finding people to play with and you will find that it is far easier to learn when you get constructive criticism. I too started out wanting better ships and free XP'd my way up - I stank. I therefore decided to get better. I picked a forgiving ship, watched You Tube videos and tried to emulate the better players. Notser is good to watch as is iChase. Flamu is an excellent player but arrogant and swears too much. Jingles is not a great player and at times is a bit full of how great a personality he is, but he does post amusing videos. I chose the Tier 3 US cruiser St Louis. More guns than you can count and also pretty tough so you can make a mistake and survive. You can learn how to aim and also how to angle and position yourself. I played a thousand games in her before I reckoned I was not a complete liability. I then only researched ships with earned XP on the preceding ship and upgraded then with Free XP. I have a pretty average win rate - a bit over 54% and, as I play almost exclusively cruisers , a pretty low damage score and reasonable XP score. I have a Karma score of 190 mainly for team play and I almost never division. The game is far more fun when you are winning and topping the score board. I also own an old British car (or two!) and am a GP! (and of an age where most of my friends at medical school are busy retiring!)

Worth every penny!

I think it quite possible there will be a Dutch cruiser line - I think the tech tree shown possibly puts some of the cruisers at a tier too low as they would be more modern and slightly OP compared to the other nations. However with that proviso, nice work. I don't think a BB line is nearly as likely.

Just had a battle where got not a scratch - in Belfast, second in team, only 60k damage though did get confederate - Neighbours - enemy lemminged and 2 DDs and I went through islands and capped and then defended - not a mark on the paint! Well worth every penny of the service charge!!

In the meantime have set patch to default which seems the least irritating for others.

Does the mod make our's invisble to others as well?

Found my 1982 pictures - I am afraid they are slides and don't scan that well and the nut behind the handle needs adjusting - this was shot on a Canon VT with either a 50mm f1.2 or a 100mm f3.5 - really can't remember but those were the two lenses I had with me! You can just see the CN tower behind.

I have a picture of the Canadian Tribal though I thought it was in Toronto ! I am sure that is where i saw it in 1982. I will dig out the picture!

wow Sweet Lord Baby Jesus...WG, skill level on playerbase is out of controll.

I am still in favour of mine fields randomly scattered in the squares around the border - just had two battles where half the fleet grouped themselves around an island at the far edge of the map and milled around till dead. Luckily the next battle, the enemy did the same with pretty similar results! We need a deterrence! -
What is your highest amount of credits?
triumphgt6 replied to Themisto97's topic in General Discussion
Don't bother looking at credits - have 418 million - wish I could give them to someone who needs them. -
3.8 million on Atlanta, 3.7 on Belfast and 3.3 on the Fiji.

Completely agree - would like off button, both for seeing others and for showing an emblem for me to others.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
triumphgt6 replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
And playing a Conqueror very badly! Hate battleships but was going for a dreadnought! Would prefer to have used an RN cruiser, but not allowed! Didn't get it - your clan member in the other DD dispatched to my watery grave! The remnants of the team seemed to have gone south for the winter. -
The problem with the Greek Navy is that it has very few suitable ships. No dreadnought and the Averof has mixed main armament and is a protected cruiser. Beyond using some ex RN destroyers, there is very little that is usable. That does not demean the Greek Navy, but the game demands certain features and the requirements of the Greek Navy looked for different attributes.

The new missions are really FUBARing the BB MM!!
triumphgt6 replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
Bless me Father for I have sinned - I used the Conqueror! -
Got them all - only last task left so BB back in port!! Thank goodness for that!! Karma went from 188 to 183!!
