Capping 3 zones is absolute [edited].
havaduck replied to anonym_5SsDJH3ePhJT's topic in General Discussion
exactly. My plan has Subs on the border and moving in from there, encroaching further in as the match goes on. Has the additional benefit of not only catching afker but also catching those that run to nearest border or take the longest possible to go nowhere in particular. -

Told you there should be subs from the very beginning in every match! Moving forward slowly submerged and torping every coward and afker, which of whom are to busy with sabotaging their own team to actually engage the enemy. -
So why are all the team killers in my team?
havaduck replied to cuddlesRO's topic in General Discussion
Actually you can see the pinkies on the enemy team: You just need to have team panels enabled. (at least prior to this patch and with a team panel mod I could see the opposite team Pinkies) -
Tried the latest version: - a lot of stuff is already selected ... thats not good for you might install unwanted unneeded crap. - extended techtree and better carousel icons are mutually excluding - is this intentional? - downloaded of the installer from MF - fast. download of a few MB dlc with 4 KB/s ..... not so fast. In fact impossible for the DL also breaks up even if you are willing to spend the time to let it finish. So back to using the game without mods for the moment.

20 cm Mogami calls a big fat lie on that one.
-
I noticed that as well - since the new patch (0.5.5 that is). The thing is .... I havent really been able to play recently so it might be me getting rusty ... or my connection sucking in some way. Nowadays I have to lead a 30 knt german cruiser MORE than a 35 knt IJN/russian cruiser before .... On the other side I remember when I got Nagato with that exact same problem -> naturally the shells are faster and/or keep their speed over longer distances (compared to Fuso), but still I was over-leading like hell! Then, suddenly a patch came in and I was no longer overshooting .... go figure. €: shot a New York in an Omaha. Was a full ahead broadside target. Shell time was 7 seconds. Lead in front of his bow (so bow = 0) was 8 -> shells still hit the later half of his hull.
-
Well, we can agree on the last one. ^^ (although I cant say anything on Zao - but I think any 203 is baldy hit for around 800 m. Like Ibuki - since the rail guns from Zao are missing and stealth firing was the only thing going for that ship ... well, now it has to do it from a lot farther away.)
-
Yeah and I picked Mogami specifically to show that it was borderline NOW, but AFTER a very long and aggravating course of nerfes that finally came to be missing that particular last nail in the coffin. The fact that this situation on ships like, eg Mogami, was brought step by step doesnt make the total abolishment of what little use remained less outargues. 0 times, simply because I dont use anything p2w and my highest captain across all ships has 12 pts. But since Mogami is one of my favourites (not to play obviously) I always hoped to get to a 5th tier captain one day through diligence ...
-
Lets phrase it this way: I have yet to be detonated in a DD, because of all the flags I "farmed" with the german CLs ....
-
Depend on where you start looking at ..... Let take a look on one of WGs most beloved rape victims: The T8 cruiser. We all remember how p2w-zov got "re-compensated" above what it had with skills, and then the skill points still left for distribution? Ok now on the other side: Mogami. I could stealthfire from ~ 13,7 km - and it was a viable choice. Now after murdering the 155s and forcing 203 on everyone there was a tiny tiny gap Mogami could stealth fire and be borderline useful with the 600 m window - if you had the p2w trained captain to do it ofc. After this update: Cant stealth fire with 203 at all. Ofc you could still use the utterly shitty A hull + 155 combo, you know, the one to which WG has done everything to ruin it for players except issuing an auto-ban when pressing battle ... So yeah, back to "depends where you start looking": When you are searching for dire consequences of any nerf and you start by looking to premium ships, you are simply doing it wrong. Those (most at least, and while I am also complaining about the grossly UP premium ships I am also dreading when they get "fixed") are op and/or p2w to begin with and can by definition take a blow better than their silver brethren. Whether or not the nerf then decreases the op-p2w-gap, or makes a class obsolete is ofc open for further investigation. It like if you would issue a blanket nerf to IJN BBs range from T5 and + -> sure most of them have more than they need, but Amagi would cry out in anguish ..... So yeah Gremy looses "only" 200m, but it hits Gnevny way harder since its stats are inferior to begin with! Thinking about worse firing debuff to concealment, thinking about worse rudder shift and turning radius (to manage that smaller window), worse ballistics (farther away) and worse damage + fire chance (compared to untouchable p2w) to begin with.

Someone forgot to adjust 'Situational Awareness' in 0.5.5

________________ The thing is that this system still feels like complete bollocks. I had a game where I was unspotted and slowed down (nearly, less than 1/4 and still decellerating) to a stand still, pressed smoke, waited, fired ..... got spotted! (dont worry, no bug read on). -> Thought I fired to soon (since smoke takes a few sec to deploy), but now am hearing via TS people telling me that I NOW REALLY should smoke up ... (*hammering everything from repair over speed boost to smoke intensives* ) ... guess what? apparently the smoke got lost in transition, but the gun fire command a little later not. So now on top of EVERYTHING ELSE, I also gotta ask people in TS (and wait for their response!) if the fu<king smoke is properly deployed, several seconds after pressing the button, before I can even think of firing my guns? Yes it has to be that big. WG might as well now issue real paper forms you gotta fill in every time you want to use smoke - less hazzle than the gauntlet you have to run ingame ... -
Go ask for a refund, because we cant have the p2w ships nerfed along with all the peasant silver ships. (not meant as a personal attack, but rather WG and their p2w ships)
-
best news in a long time indeed! Its always been outrageous that the aim-mod users could walk free ... not even a raised eyebrow. He, I am so happy about this (if its effective, ofc) that I think I will let even the next raising of the bar of the GNB xp mission slip. ^^ On the other hand: would lead to :
-
Pity it doesnt work like this with shells, and especially aircraft launched carrying bombs and torpedoes.
-
Hows the accuracy (not only the dispersion directly but the grouping)? A lot of the low tier ships are horribly inaccurate and in terms of fire-power even the Tenryu outguns it ... (thanks to faster reload) T 4 match seems utterly hopless. T 3 match everything but the SL has the speed/range or combination of both to hunt you down. T 2 matches here it can and proably will work ..... but still the gun power struggles/is nothing special.

I thought getting some T 1 matches quickly done in the night would be a nice thing (since I cant do the 100k xp this week anyway - its borderline for me anyway and if I dont play for 1-2 day completely impossibru without p2w)..... since I usually dont play low tier matches. Hell, I even grind my low tier ships in co-op ...... Well late in the night things like that have to be expected ...... still you know the rules: at least on bot on your side. (no naming and shaming since its 50-50 to pick the right one). Sitting there all match, occasionally moving the turrets, ignoring incomming fire and only attacking after the enemy is close to a certain distance ... yep. So after that new record of 33 % bots on my team, of to the next game: totally no bots involved - just some bad players that dont move, until the enemy advance reaches a certain distance. Next game was a win .... only High Calibre needed for that .... oh and 2 other player that actually knew what they were doing, to outweigh the bots on our side. Fun? Nah only frustration seeing 4 ships still not moving a metre after 3 minutes into the game ... Could have very well been a loss if I didnt have those other 2 guys on my team. So after an unsatisfying win, back to horrific defeat street in bot-city: 1 kill from our side? Bot Power! Nearly killed in an 1v1 that enemy Emden (double the HP, more guns, most dangerous ship on the enemy side, good player judging from his stats also probably doing the mission/seal clubbing), but 404 team not found -> rage quit. This game is so unplayable without a division - alone to reduce the slots that could be occupied by bots by 1-2. The unsatisfying steam rolls when the enemy team is full of bots also wont go away BUT if the MM decides to shove all the bots on your side you at least will stand a little chance. Lesson for the next event: At least implement a requirement to be in the top 75 % of your team. Yeah I know this leaves only 3 slots for the bots to leave empty handed but you gotta stop somewhere. -
Thx for the info guys! I am contemplating getting this cruiser at the end of GNB, but getting citadeled with HE from smallest guns on top of everything else would break the deal for me. well a lot of lower tier and new players (understandably) cant aim (and I have to give it to them: low tier BBs are freaking shotguns) and thus use HE - so there is a realistic threat from T 3 and 4 BB HE. Still, I think I can live with that drawback.
-
what about HE-citadels? Since its such a huge target without side armor, and a IJN cruiser on top, every HE shell that hits vaguely the side (because there is some armor on the deck it seems) is a citadel?

every time something else is displayed: all from this evening ... what ever you feed those hamsters - its not healthy. €: Isnt it policy to never take something back that has erroneously been given? In that case that 10k + gold WoT screenshot, for when Gold will be unified with WoWs, plz (some free premium time in there as well -> nice for doing the without-premium-impossible future XP missions in GNA)! If not, I am totally ok with that screen with 130 days of free premium as well.

This. (and sorry was busy IRL to keep up with the discussion) While we still dont agree, I like that we didnt resort to calling each other names. The thing that I am afraid is that some part could be (unintented) taken a personal attack (as I am not a native speaker), but like I said I deposit my salt at WG, for there is no reason to attack a fellow player. Its like the same with a lot of premiums which I consider p2w or otherwise unbalanced (and thus cant buy), but I dont attack players for owning them (except if they are on TS with me - then they are all kill stealing wallet warriors. ). This Let the picS (remember: easiest) flow in then .... oh and we might just go straight for the 3250 xp one since its now practically certain to come up next. about that 10 matches -> quick math. I think half of the matches are not caps-domination but rather zone or standard (and you have no control over the game mode). That leaves 5. Ofc you also have to win*)1 which tanslated to your (excelent) DD winrate of 75 % means that 3-4 of those 10 matches fit the very basic rules of the right game mode + winning. Again you have only remotely control over whether its going to be a win or a loss. So in essence you are saying that out of the remaining 3-4 victorious domination games in a DD you can reliably do that 3000/3250 mission without premium? Which in turn then also implies that: Out of at least every 4th victorious domination DD game you can get above 3k base xp?! Sorry but I dont think even EsaTuannen could do that, an he plays NOTHING but the Gremlin ... but again: This event is slightly more than 2 weeks old and the numbers imply that you have had 4,5 fitting games (4 will do) with the appropriate amount of base xp. Plz post the screens of those games. *)1 (hey a new dare: do 3250 base xp on a loss! its only another multiplier like premium, so should be doable .... just a little bit more difficult ) No offence, but honestly words like the above that imply its downright easy and can be done reliably ... remind me of something: Question is: same "illness" or a completely different one, but with similar only slightly detached symptoms? -

Yes but still if I take complete ignorance into account: I am not spotted while driving ship x, I shoot, I am spotted. -> knowledge that shooting gives position away in some way acquired. I am spotted, I pop smoke/see the enemy pop smoke, enemy is gone/blinks. -> knowledge that smoking either conceals, causes blinking in case of slowing down process/not slowing down, acquired. Enemy shoots at me, I shoot back, he smokes and keeps shooting from the smoke after maybe blinking 2 times -> Rage for the forum about offensive Smoke acquired. New patch, everything is different, DDs act in the most stupid way imaginable and get shot to hell when using smoke. -> ???? No detailed information on game mechanics outside from very shallow own experience needed. -

There is a very cheap and easy joke to be made about what and how much the Russians/Devs are smoking. Just for some (only vaguely related) random lulz: https://twitter.com/RussianEmbassy/status/730701444823826432/photo/1 (yeah I see that "picture only for illustration" too, but hey this is the internet! First, they gotta expect what they now get as a response, and secondly: Who tF was that nearly one and a half _DECADE_ old CnC Generals screen shot aimed at in the first place?) More serious: Its true ... how is this going so "unnoticed" in general populace reception? -
Damn, now I really want to know what those "horrible" changes would have been? ( and how they can be refurbished to use on SkyPlague and p2w ships. )

Its not a bug, its just a result from this 3 second BS: If you are going full speed, smoke and go full reverse, you will a. leave your smoke poofs at least 2 times b. renew every time the 3 seconds which turns to being spotted constantly c. die since everyone can see whatcha doing and will unleash hell on the coming to a stand still DD. Only if you survive the slowing down + becomming unspotted after an eternity + surviving all the shells still in the air when fired with lock on you + some blind fire + going in reverse WITHOUT leaving the smoke (which would mean another round of the gauntlet) to throw of the remaining attackers aim .... you can actually start to use the smoke offensivly. Or you dont slow down, be constantly spotted, leave a few isolated smoke island and be constantly spotted again when trying to retreat behind them since 3 seconds rule meant that the enemy doesnt even have to have line of sight constantly. (that shitty paint from before again) To sum it up: totally and utterly useless smoke .... Or take 3: take 23 secs to be unspotted, slow down, smoke, open fire. Thats just a minute of preparation for 20 secs of offensive smoke.
