Yeah so the communication through curses and the whip does work. (I wonder if a cat-o-nine-tails would work better ....) I really really do wonder why WG has to always take the approach of maximum-pissing-off-people first and only then get to sit down and think when the mob is about to burn them on the stake. Do they have a someone exclusively dedicated to offend and annoy people or are they taking turns? This alone: As mentioned before, previously we’d received feedback that a full skill drop for all commanders had caused many players to have to undertake the boring chore of setting up all their commanders correctly again. As opposed to the exiting fair weather picknick that is going through all the captains anyway, to make sure those that I have plans for, or that simply need it + have a point to spend, get something else in order to not get auto-fucked up. Yeah .....

[0.5.9] Secret Ninja Nerf Of All Tier 5s & 6s?!
havaduck replied to t3h3th32's topic in General Discussion
This ridiculously OP p2w-Dreamship which should be T 5 at the very least, thus MM of 4-7 instead of the already unfair 3-6, will now also get 3-5? Are they complete nuts? ........ Or, I should rather ask if they have absolutely no shame with their p2w-ships in general and p2w-russian-bias-ships in particular. Sure is [/sarcasm], just take a look: This picture is from yesterday - and I was wondering where my Haguro is, but didnt have time and thought I might get it credited in a few minutes or on the next log on anyway (and yeah 70+ hits should have been more than enough): Now this screen from a few minutes ago, after I wondered why there is still no Haguro: tl;dr: I dont trust any data WG pulled out of their "Secrete Archives" (read: pulled out of their a$$es, as everybody else would call it), for how much should you trust them if, for example, you are not to trust the ribbons that pop up when you hit stuff because the whole damage system is complete and utter bollocks. (For months after being pointed out again and again .....) Do you think WG has a Data Cache of "The actually correct numbers; if we actually would fix everything that is broken in this game" they use for decision making? .......... Yeah didnt think so either. -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
havaduck replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
So the game in this post will by my biggest achievement of the day, for not only the result but rather the fun I had playing; and I doubt I can top that today. ^^ Lately I find the Pepsicola (_!_ o_O ) the only cruiser to be remotely acceptable (the Kiev would be the another example of such a "cruiser"). ...... and look at her: Battered to hell but still afloat! So in this game was really a pleasure. Not only did I get to _compliment_ our CV driver; not once did I feel the need to curse at any members of my team: When I asked to split evenly, they did. When I pointed out that the enemy would lemming to the east and we would need to push up hard in the west, they did. When I asked to shoot the spotted DD, they did. When I pointed out a location of a DD hiding in smoke, the CV came and parked his fighters. Nobody during the push was hiding or lagging behind ..... you know like those cases where 1 or 2 ships can hold a whole lemming train of cowards, afraid to get shot at, back. No afkers, no cowards hiding, no bots or players acting like them and they actually played for victory ... sad that such a thing is worth a celebration, but thats game reality. South knew what they had to do in order to buy us time and they did it without saying. Hell even the game itself was fun. I got to shoot up those players I deemed pretty dangerous (from how they played and those flags they were flying) and the after battle results would confirm it: In terms of Ranks we shouldnt have stood a chance and yet this is what teamplay and not having those a$$ snifing invertebrates on your team can do. -
Better idea, but not quite there - imho ;). And screw anything about survival. More often than not at least some members of the division have to sacrifice themselves in order to achieve victory DESPITE the rest of the team. Some examples: Division kills 11 out 12 ships - 2 members die. Even the one ship killed by the rest of the team is "bad luck". So screw anything about survival. Yesterday: Division mate holds 4 or 5 enemy ships at bay in his battleship. Meanwhile we are in the fight over 2 of 3 caps, win and kill the enemy DDs there, and are pushing hard on the last one in our destroyers. So how about: The 2-3 division members combined (no matter in which place they came and if they survived) earned eual or more xp than the last 3 or 4 /// 5 or 6 members of their team combined. As for the term: Well we have divisions already for those 2-3 players and fleet for the team as a whole. This would leave flotilla (boring) or squadron. Squadron sounds nice, reminds me of Breslau and Goeben in the Mediterranean, or hell even better: The German battlecruiser division at Juttland. Fought against vastly a superior enemy and even sunk 3 enemy Battlecruiser. Further the charged the enemy lines in what could only be described as a Deathrun to buy time for the rest of the fleet to escape. Hmm ...... honestly if I would add some curse words and slurs, it really starts to sound like describing a battle of WoWs. So how about "distinguished Squadron" ....... yeah "distinguished" is a bit lame too but I am not a native speaker so ....

Stoped reading right there, two things (maybe more but since, like I said, stoped reading there I leave it to the other): 1. arcady as fu<k vehicle shooter - if you want a simulator better pick a game which actually tries to be a simulater. 2. there is no "sideways" against _!_plunging fire_!_. Thats the whole reason they steamed head on: To reduce the time the deckarmor would be subjected to steep plunging fire.

I agree with the others than when there are not enough human players available there shouldnt be any co-op battle mission, OR the mission should be only conducted on a human to bot ration on the friendly team of 2:1 and then have the enemy bots reduced in numbers accordingly. I mean, I like the challenge, but even I was seriously pissed when trying to get those victories and time after time: The thing is, your bots should on average ofc trade 1:1 but there is some serious snowballing going on when eg your dd dies early and then a US cruiser cant torpedo trade with a IJN cruiser and so on. Here, the starting situation is allready 2:1 so the snowballeffect gets even bigger .... Worse the higher you go, the less chance to influence a battle against bots ...... Try doing something when even a enemy Yamato lolpens you to death with citadels..... Cruisers are useless anyway and DDs loose their torp reload speeds the higher they go - which is fine in pvp but here you simply dont have the dps because one thing the bots can and will do is focus the spotted dd to death. so far the maps: straights is ok, beside the mentioned problems with the cap. estuary - I decided that its crap and I hate it. ^^ fault line - great fun and the best - to bad I didnt get to play it very often ...... So looking at the other players, of which some are arguing the standard "difficulty" of co-op: There will be a serious crapstorm from higher tier co-op players (tirpitz buyers and so on) who find themselves roflstomped in those battlemission with mostly bots on their own side. (and since you have been warned it will even be justified ......)

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
havaduck replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Met our ST Alucard in his Scharnhorst. Loran got to show that Atlanta is really OP on Ocean and our Divsion won (Loran, Life and me) -
(cant believe I missed that one, thanks for the reminder Boo ;) ) Thats already taken for the Teamkillers. I am more than OK with pink unicorns. Trainable launchers and not shitty fixed tubes (the game doesnt acknowledge them ... and for a good reason ...)? Seriously curious because I cant recollect any with trainable Launchers.

Except that Type/Class-Name-Ship covers (partially) what happened to the whole class of ships and the some planed or completely fictional stuff on top. For example: Gneisenau never had those 38 cm guns. NEVER. It was planed, started and all that crap, but it stands as NEVER. On the other hand Tirpitz actually received torp launchers and is a member of the Bismarck-Class. Speaking of which - there is no Gneisenau-Class, only the Scharnhost-Class-beggar-thy-user-ship. So in total if you want to go reality on it: the Torps on the Bismarck class are actually way more justified than 38 cm on Gneisenau. ;) Dont you think it helps that you can play stupidly as can be with a really fast ship that is Destroyer-esque hard to citadel (and generally very strong bow on), with torp angles a lot of cruisers would kill for; and then when you are up-close press the I-win button? (+ Basic style bonus: ELSE IF target tries to turn AND run THEN citadel it to hell? ) If not - I am now waiting for the uncitadel-able-50 knots cruiser for silver from the tech-tree that lets me do the same.

Replays from the PT are broken as well so I cant show proper screens but have this description: Battle starts, opening salvo from Iowas on a 23 km Yamato - full hp. One plunging shell hits the superstructure and a clean reg-pen icon pops up. 0 - in words - zero damage - target is still full hp. No excuses for depletion or other BS, your damage system as already mentioned numerous time is still completely broken.

So far its rather easy if your team is not composed of morons - could be way more challenging. On the maps: Estuary - played it only 2 times ...... dont know dont like it much. Fault line - big fun with that centering-spawn -> my favourite and very tense. Straight - broken - and its not even WG fault. Well it kinda is, since its not idiot proof, but thats what this feedback is for It simply doesnt work because the base premise would be that you engage the first half of the enemy fleet, and then the second half later to not have a too difficult fight by picking the enemy fleet appart one half at a time. What DOES HAPPEN INSTEAD is that some moron in a DD who did like 100 xp thinks he has to cap - sometimes before even 3 enemy ships are dead. The bots are usually not fast enough/smart enough to protect their cap, so you drive around 5 mins for some parasite that cant damage bots if his live would depend on it to cap in one minute. If you dont believe me (and I think I didnt screen the first few: Dont get me wrong capping is valid and should be done on a loosing battle or to end it if the last bots are stranded .... somewhere, but not immediately. Actually, the new game mode does work and is great fun_IF_ your team is listening if you politely explain why they should wait with the cap: But if they dont .....the thing is, as I mentioned, you can only ask politely and explain why you shouldnt immediately cap, and then they proceed to not give a damn. A lot of people will then tell: "everyone has the right to play as the wish ........" The thing is when everyone has that "right", then so do I! Which is why you can thankfully, after words fail, just tk those wannabe capping parasites that did 100 xp on the ptr - and then have a nice game afterwards. Basically like this (parasite DD marked for convenience): So along the road we even learned, why its not good to have everyone just "play like they want", and have instead everyone abide by some rules, which sadly in this case also means that the map needs to be made idiot proof. I dont tk on live server, not even intentionally like most of the pink riders do - so I was to reluctant to tk at first - or simply out of position but after learning the "meta on this map" I no longer hesitate (since its ptr), and rather choose to give you some data for you automated tker system. Co-op overall: Rewards are only slightly increased by the sheer amounts of ships to shoot (deducted the premium bonus ofc), but I guess thats intentional. So: TL;DR: Straights need to be made parasite and idiot proof. Move the basecapture point further to the south and have the south bot group go straight for it and let them guard it. This way there is some base protection there and also a chance that some wannabe early capper gets boxed in by the north AND south group.

I will keep this short: SA changing to something I didnt pick or want = something between rip off and deliberately trying to piss people off. I have a pretty good idea of what the russian response will be, but lets cover our part of the WG-World too: If you go through with this, and if I am not completely wrong, the general mood/opinion of most of the player base will be like this:

The "Situational Awareness" is gone...
havaduck replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Since its a default game mechanic now that has no ties to any status of any captain, I would say: Yes. Same here. I would go as far and even exclude carriers completely from having SA, therefore actually surprising a Carrier in a DD becomes a thing again. -

Trenryu and Bogatyr getting milder MM? Why not. crap-berg that atrocious pos? Should be changed to T1 only anyway. ......... but St. Louis? This thing is so dam OP that meeting the occasional T 5 match - in which it is hard to play - is the only thing balancing it out. I will never understand what kind of railway sleeper literally went through their head to put this armored cruiser with the hp of a battleship at T 3 ...... -

I still dont want BS on a lot of my cruisers - and in some cases even up to a (fictional since I never will get one) 18 pts captain .... this. -

Its not! On ships with shitty AA anyway, lets say Japo Cruiser I would pick basics of not burning down, but I would never choose it as a first or probably at all on my (atm) envisioned Clevleand build. Or how about cruiser that are shitty HE spammer anyways and benefit from BFT? No basics of ripping of people there either. So there is a pretty much: BFT, Basics, BFT, Basics list going on when looking at my cruisers. -
Fact is that the value contribution is in the eye of the beholder - some might find the information of standard MM on op premiums useful - probably if they own one and some other op p2w boats themselves and want to lay their concious to rest. - others might find a different point of view , explained above, more useful. On you weakly veiled insult I might add that you are one of those persons that are invited to kiss me. If you are a shy one or simply confused about place and time of the kiss, please dont hesitate and ask for further directions and I will certainly guide you to when and where to kiss me.

Exactly. So far WG probably sees the (financial) effort of coding out something that takes more than 5 minutes or the financial damage from having to do another complete free-spec + the potential benefit of reaping a few bucks on the side from ripping of players willing to spend to not have to run idiotic builds. So the solution is simply: Make it more expensive for WG to screw people over than to hand out a compensation and watch the miracle unfold. Like I said: full compensation or hf coding so my point stays spend on SA. If the damn OP premiums are so tabu to any touch, then dont you dare molest my captains with your filthy code because I think a lot of people spent real money on them one way or another. (And while you are at it: fix the broken damage system) Probably the same people that wouldnt mind paying 5 € to get another 10 % rof other players dont get. There is a reason all this p2w stuff works ...... -
It does since its not in the game yet, but there is a possibility of unknown certainty it might be in the future. Such is the nature of a hypothetical example implied by the word "would", above. But thats probably to abstract compared to a fantasy stats p2w ship that is apparently both properly balanced on its tier - and then again so OP that it will never be sold again (if WG is to be trusted). Schrödingers battleship? No even that one would have only one status after you tried it out.

Depends on who is the giver and what is received. There are a people in this world I wouldnt take any gift or present from. Ofc not everyone is like me and thus there are terms like "Politician". Some not so serious -stuff from here: Look whats happen if you knock on the wrong door in Murica, and immagine if WG tries their theft there: http://news.nationalpost.com/news/world/tragic-and-avoidable-massachusetts-teenager-knocked-on-the-wrong-door-was-shot-by-homeowner I guess WG handing all the stuff out on NA is not server bias but plain self-preservation. Also: Care to send me your address? Maybe you live close and I have some stuff I need to get rid of and I would normally call bulk collection but you seem to be happy about everything unasked you can get. I for one would be happy to just dump it of in you house/flat, unasked. -
Its T4. true; in the regard of: Yeah its a fact that WG placed a p2w ship at T 4, especially if you compare it to the other T 4 BBs. So if WG would put a premium Kongo without AA at T 3 and then make her face T 5 opponents, instead of the "usual" T 4, as a matter of "balancing and equalization" everything would be fine since that is standard MM. kk then ...... I do agree that you dont see the preferential MM caused by deliberately putting OP ships in a lower tier and then give them "standard matchmaking" thus getting way lower tiered and weaker enemies than they should, compared to when p2w would not be a major design criteria.

PT 0.5.9 announced - starting on 19.7 18:30 CEST
havaduck replied to daki's topic in General Discussion
Which I never asked for. I either choose the fu<king skill I want or they better should not dare and touch my situational awareness. Yes, just to take the piss back at WG I rather have a skill that does absolutely nothing, since its there by default, than having shitty basics of not burning down (or anything else) forced on me on the few destroyers I actually own. By the p2w logic of this game I wouldnt even loose out on anything: I had SA and I still have it, some people get something extra instead, just like they do with their p2w op ships, premium time trained 18 pts captains - so should not be a problem. Balls is in WG yard: Either refund of the point, or no theft ( ) of my SA - that spent pont on the Icon there in my client is holy and not removed without refund. If you think that is less programming effort than just a simple refund, than by all means go ahead. -
More than you think of them premiums have this, if you consider that they are so op they should be on another tier all along: EG: Impregnator can see T 6 battles? Booohooo! thats not a drawback! This thing is so fu<king OP it should at the very least be T 5 all along. So in total seeing T 3 - T6 battles is a MAJOR buff in terms of preferential MM instead of the 4-7 a silver T 5 BB would get. (also beating up T 3 BBs with this massively op russian fantasy stats boat, that should get flooding damage from just moving forward, is so totally fair and balanced ) So its >= 2 at the very least. I was asking for a general credit sheet or the value of a specific ship, but it seems its WG company police to keep this information stashed from people; not only in WoWs.

Wargaming your damage model is completely broken after MONTHS!
havaduck posted a topic in General Discussion
Yeah playing ranked and taking ~ 5k damage from a single Fuso round a lot of the times is too real, but maybe they finally fixed their crap that has been there and pointed out for MONTHS! (if you dont believe me go ahead and search for former threads from me on that matter ...) NO, whole seasons of the year even! HELL, what do I know since I am an OBT scrubb, might be damn YEARS by now. So lets watch a preview of the up comming patch: Since they took the hassle to add new ribbons that give you more information what is actually going on -> they surely fixed the system behind them - or rather the very foundation of the new one since its now counting the type of hits instead of only mentioning the amount of any kind of hit? For reference - You can watch the Video here (so you can see for yourselves): ...... at this point I dont care if its the reg pen + overpen damage bug (same as the citadel + reg pen bug) for a few reasons: a. too tired to figure this crap out since the damage with around 6k is way to low for the expected 8,6 k from the bug; and then there is depletion, so gl & hf. I am no RichardNixon ........ b. too tired to figure this crap out since for me the shells that hit did so on the section with the later two funnels, and NOT on the aft casemate guns or the turret. (one given reason for this bug is the shell penetrating the ship side and the turret or their barbettes and being counted both times) c. too tired to figure this crap out since its been whole seasons changes now and with the shiny new ribbon system giving all this additional information that is ..... - and thats the important part - ........... WORTHLESS since its blatantly WRONG! /rant -
Wargaming your damage model is completely broken after MONTHS!
havaduck replied to havaduck's topic in General Discussion
Honestly do they even play their own game? (and to a lesser extent I have to ask what the ST feedback on that was, the very moment this mess got in-your-face obvious with the introduction of the detailed ribbons - but hey I guess ignoring everything EU, including ST is a WG tradition) They want to reduce the RNG in this game, and raise the skill lvl without touching the gun-dispersion? Easy, fix the damn mess that is the damage system. The outcome of the hits has ZERO relevance to what you actually do in game, and here is the funny part: Zero relevance to what this broken down mess of a game actually thinks is going on. Its some schizophrenic sociopath who sets some own rules, then his "second guy" immediately ignores them, going on a rampage, and the third of the bunch will even tell a completely different story of what actually happens. Just some highlights from today: You can get, I dont know 3 reg pens and 2 overpens with 14 " guns - damage? Why 1,7 k ofc! Wich is more than I did get for a lot of my other reg. pens for a whopping 0 damage. You take a single shell in the stern of your high tier cruiser: 8 nearly 9 k damage - what was that? My pick actually is double-reg pen combined with a double-overpen. I mean thats only 266 % of the actual damage that would be set out by the game - rules. Of all the evidence so far we can conclude that there is no lower limit for any given type of shell hit (litterally, by now I wouldnt be surprised to see "healing shells" at one point or the other), and no indication for any upper limit. So this timeWG, unlike the fu<kup with Situational Awareness, you literally DID NOTHING for months, - and thats the whole problem. ......... and seeing how this crap gets ignored over and over again, with not even a comment from the reds, there is serious need to stir up a crapstorm or else there will be 0 incentive for them to actually fix it. There are games like Fighting steel that are nearing 2 decades of age (and ofc even older games) and there I can determine in advance what a shell will do if it penetrates or detonates on the armor. In this broken mess: - I cant. - then I get some random 0-infinite results. - and then the game is even lying about what happened. So after contemplating this facts I think there is a term of whats going on in the damage system (alone, not even counting dispersion RNG): Arbitrary Retarded Rollercoaster. (I know I took it from there, but you can you immagine a better term?) now take a guess why the armor-viewer isnt ready yet ..........
