    Swedish DDs, rest is kind of crap! Östergötland is a bif step up and Halland is torp soup deluxe with decent guns, heal and best AA in game so big F-U to all CV mains.

    KOTS mission where?!

    So I was watching KOTS both on saturday and sunday this weekend and for some reason I wasn't credited at all for the watchtime saturday and for the sunday I got the credit and activated it in Twitch but I cant find the missions in game?! Arent they supposed to show under Combat mIssions? Also I saw that I can get some KOTS drops next weekend as well? Something streaming at 16 CET? Anyone knows what that is? Its been a while since I did these kind of KOTS missions.

    Why was RPFimplemented? Can we come up with an alternative to it?

    That question you can ask about 100s of things in this game, subs, CVs, Thunderers, Musashis, Belfast, Smolensks, CVs etc etc. RPF Skill doesn't even make my list. RPF is very very far from a Wallhack. First the DD need to take the skill for 4 points, secondly only DDs and only about 40-50 % of them take the skill (IJN torp DDs), Thirdly the DD needs to be positioned closest to you to even get the RPF on you and if you flank around he will probably pick up something else. Fourthly, CVs ruin flanking maneuvers and tactics 1000 % more then a random DD with RPF.

    The ping-thingy can rotate 360 yes but you cant still fire torps at any angle. German T10 only has forward launching torps and Balau has both forward and backwards but you cant just shoot torps 360 because of the lay of the land (islands), sure torps home if you land pings but if a land mass of any kind is between sub and target you need to try and fit the gap and that's is not always as easy as it sounds. When I play in a BB and I get pinged I always see a very distinctive direction, if its then a couple of islands around I can usually "guesstimate" where the sub must be sitting considering my own experience in a sub and then I can launch my 2-3 ASW drops in that general area. As many way more skilled players then me has started to state, it seems BBs actually has the best counter to subs right now, cruisers being a bit meeh, but the ones that has it worse is the DDs (shocker I know...). DDs seem to have the smallest chance of everyone to counter subs. If a BB just parks bow in and doesn't do anything and subs sits straight ahead of him with no islands, enemy subs, enemy dds in the way he has pretty free range on that BB but then its also the biggest chance for the BB to dodge since you usually hit a section on the midships and then the torps go wide for the citadel and then the BB can just steer around the torps. Happened to me many times when playing the subs. Usually you then go for straight into bow shots instead but they dont do as good damage, citadels or floods. Still, you see a CVs planes but what can you do about it? Turn? But his planes are faster and can turn around and get perfect angle on you if he wants. And while you play "ring around the roses" with his planes he keeps you perma spotted and you show broadside to all the enemy team. And the biggest difference here, a sub must position to be effective, a CV sits in A1 all game and can find and strike anyone all across the map, ha has Zero range limits. I had many games in a sub where I got the unfortunate flank where the enemys played passive or ran and then I had very little chance to do anything at all with my 12 km torps. Many games in subs finish with less the 20 K damage and then you been alive all match, you just haven't been positioned to do very much. And just to repeat myself. I hate subs, I hate what they do to the game. I wish both subs and CV would be taken out of this game because then it would be a game of skill and everyone could play different tactics, pushing flanks, getting crossfires, trying to sneak around a enemy force etc etc etc. Having really fun and intense battles without the presence of a master class/god class that ruin all the fun. But WG will force Subs down our throats just as they did CVs and if I have and option to choose between the two I would always choose to have subs in the game over CVs because of the things I stated.

    Best Use of 18 Skill Points on IJN and EU DD's

    For IJN torp boats RPF is a great investment because that makes you control the engagements. After that you build for AR and torps (reload, speed and flood). For regular Swedish DDs you go for AR and torps as well, if you have Småland you build for guns. Jerzy legendary captain is OP A-F which you trigger every match.

    So a couple of cherry picked videos out 1000 or 10000 of sub games so far is "reality" for you? Ok then.... I much rather go by what I see and experience playing them or against them myself in game. So other Subs, DDs ASW drops etc isn't any counterplay then? Then im really curious what you think about CVs? Haven't been more rect by subs then I have by BBs spanking you from across the map, torp soups, cruisers HE spam and blapped by CV, which I have had fun getting rect by since 2016. Subs dont even make the list so far. But it seems we have different realitys.

    I wouldn't hold my breath about this. So what you are saying is that there are videos on the forum that shows: Balao sitting in top right corner and striking any ship anywhere on the map (doesn't need to push into harms way) Balao creating a perfect crossfire without taking in effect where the sub is positioned (and im not talking of the slight curvage of homing torpedos here, im talking I will strike this ship from this perfect angle, which CVs can) Balao hitting a ship 12-20 km away from him Because if that's the case I would really like to see them, maybe a link? Then after I watched them and they showed me this, I could "Scratch that". I now played subs at tier 6, 8 and 10 and I also played in DDs, cruisers and BB against said subs and I don't really understand what you mean with "apparently 360 degrees"? When I was in my BB I saw a very distinct direction where the sub pinged me from and that is more distinct then the one you see from RPF skill. I managed to use this marked and launch my ASW planes and strike the subs with hits and floods just using that and basic sub play knowledge. Other big risks playing subs is other subs. Most try to take out each other to have a free range but winning sub on sub duells isn't as easy as DD on DD duells. Other risks is enemy DDs that can kill you very easy, specially mid to late game. That said is you are a skilled Sub player you can kill them as well. Also quite a few times I almost gotten killed by stray enemy DD torps showing up while turning on the surface. Not always as east to just dive below. There is no guaranteed damage at all in subs. I had T10 BBs that was double pinged by me dodge my homing torps without using DCP just by going bow in and turn. If the ping is midships on the BB, which is best place for citadels and the BB turns into you and show bow your homing torps will try and go really wide circle around to be able to hit midships and then they instead miss. Had this happen on many BBs and cruisers pushing me. Regarding crossfires I wasn't talking about the old ways of the RTS CVs, but the fact that when any surface ship is spotted and fighting another surface ship the CV can with ease just flank around with his squadron and strike at perfect crossfire angle every time. Because the target must choose if they want to show broadside to a couple of Yamatos or show broadside to the CV attack. And just to be perfectly clear here. Im no "Pro Submarine" players that wants subs in this game, I hate subs in this game. But the question of the thread was regarding which I rather fight in this game and then I much rather have subs that still need to do all the same things as surface ships to be effective, then have CVs in the game which is the "God class" that doesn't have to do anything that the other classes have to do and doesn't even have same DCP or fire mechanics.

    Karma Problem..

    Well... CVs are a different breed. Most players think they are stupid OP,/broken/god mode and ruin the game. Usually not as hard to carry in an invisible ship then in a ship getting blasted from all direction, even from the sky and now below water (something else CVs with their magic DCP is pretty much exempt from). You think you are worthy a +1 but most teammates and enemy's seems to disagree? If you get butt hurt over chat you can disable chat all together but continue playing CVs you should probably get used to zero karma. To put it in retrospect. I'm a DD main since 2015 so CVs isn't by far my biggest problem, the other classes has it worse. But I cant tell you how many games ive been winning in a Asashio, Shima, etc etc and been only guy left alone and their is a cv on the other team. Doesn't matter if im close to unicum I will always loose to the carrier. Even if I was in a Halland which has the best AA in the game I would probably loose doesn't matter how well I play. Because CV can just keep throwing crap at you and you never see him while he can keep you spotted and find you everywhere. Do I deserve to loose? To perhaps a 45 % WR CV player? crap happens! Buy a helmet......

    That said OP has a point. Subs actually need to push in into harms way and take risks to be effective and actually do something. Subs cant create magical crossfires at any point but has to actually choose a good position like all other surface ships. Subs cant reach everything everywhere over the entire map in seconds which the CV can. Subs effect the stagnant gameplay way less then CVs do .... and probably less then long range HE spam. I rather face Subs then CV in this game a 1000 times over.

    Karma is a non-issue since it has zero effect on your game, so why bother? Most players I know report CVs they meet in game because they hate the class and think it ruins the game. Now days you could probably ad Subs to that category. Its the only way for players who hate the effect these classes has on the game to vent. If you get bothered that much by negative karma you should probably learn to play other classes. I don't see this "problem" going away any time soon.

    Same here. Haven't gotten her but considering she doesn't have hydro I feel I will always rather play Tirpitz over this. If I get her for free in Prime drop I can let her collect dust in port but would never waste any kind of in game currency or real life for this ship. But open for someone to prove me wrong.

    Secondary damage not rewarded?

    Watched a few of Trenlass videos on the new German line and he had some great games with 50 % of the damage from secondary's but still end up 4-6 on the post battle list because as he says secondary damage doesn't get rewarded. Was this news to most players or was it just me?!?! I thought damage was damage XP and credit wise? I wonder how much I could have gotten from these games then?

    KOTS Twitch drops??

    Trying to understand the different articles, am I right in you can only get missions for KOTS Twitch drops if you watch 90 min on the stream saturday and sunday at 15.00 CET each weekend?! Or can I get a mission for watching today (thursday) at 18.00 as well? Just need 2 more containers to get the T7 Premium.

    I got my start by just random drops showing up. Never watched KOTS or the streams before. Suddenly I had half the collection and realized it was a T7 Premium as a gift, then I started to tune in with muted sound and just played some games while the stream went on and I got missions and containers.

    This is what could happen if you do that My favorite DDs are just those 3 launcher DDs like Shimakaze or Somers. With so many hydro ships around these days (and new German BB line incoming) with the long reload of said torps its usually a waste to go full in and send all 3 in one go against 1 ship. Usually they get hydrod or they just WASD hacks and you miss and you have to wait 2 min for next chance. Instead I usually just send one launcher first and see what happens. Do they hit or does it seem like hydro is in play? If they hit you forced a DCP and you can send 1 more set and wait and see what happens. Doing this have 3 positiv effects. 1. You can send a new set of potential devastating effect every 30-40 sec which means more fun for you, little "down time". 2. With all the active hydros in the world its very hard for a enemy flank to tap dance around new devastating set of torps every 30-40 seconds from different directions, without either getting hit by torps or getting blasted for showing broadside to a enemy BB in the process. Its what I call the "Asashio effect", which means the enemy flank is never safe, they can never know when the next salvo of 24 K damage per torp spread arrives. Its almost impossible for them to push under these circumstances. 3. Many perma floods (which can be seen in the video above)

    Passive sonar captain skill or module for DD's and cruisers

    Its a good idea to make subs work for it a bit more and actually take some risks but I still think it should be implemented in the RPF skill which is already in the game instead of creating another very similar skill. The reason for this is. Can you afford another skill, what tier should it be? Most DD players and DD hunting cruisers already have invested many points in RPF and wont take this as well. I know that on all my DD builds I wont afford taking another skill. The ones I have has far more value for me then ability to do suicide mission (in most cases) and go after enemy subs.
