Yeah, its baffling that WG "sells" this BS as Sub counterplay. Totally random, they might just have created 40 splashes around the map each time a Sub pings. You can buy a lottery ticket if you actually get a strike in using these "Helpful mechanics". Guessing it's the same Intern responsible for the Sub testing. When this game can't be any more crap, its like WG: "Hold my beer!" -

This game has nothing to do with warships fighting warships, tactics, angling or anything else that requires brainpower or actual engagement. You must have taken a wrong turn somewhere. I play: Thunderer Conqueror Asashio Missouri (mainly for the credits) Smolensk Contemplating becoming a sub-main. 95 % of my ships in port I haven't touched in years, why should I?! -

Tin foil hats and all the but has anyone else noticed how dumb plays always seems to get saved by RNGesus? Example 1. You play your basic T10 fire spammer (because why not) Smolensk, Henri, Conde, Annapolis, Conqueror, Thunderer. You manage to ge a single fire on a stuck bow tanking BB like Yamato or Kurfurst and of course that guy panics and DCPs the first fire because it ruins his nice new shiny camo. So, you think Christmas has come early and now you gonna set 2-3 perma fires and punish his somewhat stupid mistake but after the DCPs 30-40 seconds you can't set even one new fire to save your life. So, the guy making a terrible mistake gets away scott free?! Example 2. A enemy DD play like a bot and just charge Leroy Jenkins style right into enemy team at start of the game and you think to yourself this is a sure 4 sec kill, but suddenly out of nowhere when you going to take your shots this DD start to bop in and out of the ocean like a dolphin performing at Seaworld, he goes from almost being airborne one second to almost completely submerged under water the next second?! So, he doesn't escape but suddenly its so much harder to actually kill the SOB. This is also many times the fact when trying to kill WeeGees new Special protected class, Subs. You aim high you aim low but shells land everywhere else but on the surfaced sub? Have you experience this or is it just me?

That is also an re-occurring thing. I'm perfectly angled but somehow the broadsiding BB get to magical citadels thru mu smokestacks or something and when I release hell to his perfect broadside RNGesus just say ........ NOPE! Same here. If I ever misplay and maybe use my DCP to early in a DD fight or something the next volley breaks my engine, rudder, torp tubes and set 2 perma fires. Same if I ever panic and DCP a single fire in a BB then a Thunderer from across the map shoots me and I have 3 permafires to enjoy. But for some strange reason other players DCP takes away all fire chances for 5 min. -

I'm just really glad that something in the game makes CV players feel like all other players feel in regard to CVs. Maybe WG actually balanced their game for the first time by total accident? And I agree with you. This is the funniest thing in the game for all the players. -

I think many players look at Asashio and think what is this ship/Crap? But being a DD Main since day 1 in 2015 and Shimakaze was the first T10 I grinded and played this is my "Perfect ship", you cant deal with everything and its not a sure thing like a Smolensk etc but if you have the skills and experience it becomes pretty broken and OP. That said every ship and their grandmother has 6 km hydro these days so ........ not easy mode exactly. -

Going by you post im not really surewhat you are after. Have experience in all but Stalingrad but thats just another version of Petro that you dont like. My take is: Smolensk: OP A-F firestarter can chanse outcome of games Nevski: Decent ship with AA, radar etc, not that great at damage farming. If I wanna farm damage I rather take Smol or Hinden. Moskva, pretty crap and a worse Perto Stalin in all ways, a damage pinata at most. Stalin: seems pretty OP with AP pen, one of the ships that can punish my damage farming Hinden at max range. For signals I go for the standards: Fire duration, max HP regen, AA. Not sure this helped but it seems like you already counted out all the best ones. Petro is probably even after its latest "nerf" the most OP and after that Smol. Nevski is great att killing DDs at caps and decent against cruisers but my experience pretty crap against armored BBs, then my Hinden has way better pen and fires (played these to a lot for comparison). -

Asashio! Stealthy sneaky ninja with devastating Powers. Not broken because its a one trick pony but that pony (DWP to BBs) is something out of depths of hell. 2 of my 3 Solo warriors is in Asashio and that isnt by chance. To many Krakens and 150-200 K games to count -

But in my experience its not an issue to give away a cap for free the first 3-4 minutes if you after those can go in scott free and take it back, and at that time the CV is focusing elsewhere, the radar cruisers has left and play their kiting game and the enemy dd that took the cap at start is now of doing dd things and have little interest going back for it again. So enemy teams get it for 3-4 min and usually have to deal with radars, hydro, torps, CVs and we then have it for 5 - rest of that game with zero risks. DDs are the most important ships in the game and this is all about saving their little HP. Having a DD alive still at end of the game is usually the game deciding factor. Still, that is wasting the majority of the game for a kill that you perhaps will get (or someone's steals it) compared to a 100 k + game in a Daring with spotting damage and damage tanked, probably some torp hits and a crap ton of fires? Worth it? Even trying to keep a maneuvering Sub withi9n 3 km from your DD (if you don't just happen do be on exact same course) is quite hard since Daring doesn't turn on a dime and is not that fast either. He just have to slip away at the bottom and your stuck chasing your own tail in base for 7-14 min (speaking from experience). -

Thats why a DDs should never even look at a cap the first 4-5 min of the game. Because everyting designed to kill the DD is sitting there for the first minutes. Better to spot and torp and deal with caps after they get tired. -

Still doesn't mean much when you cant see your target and your perma spotted and the rest of the red team os shooting you. Maybe if you corner a sub in on corner of the map 20 km away from closest ship. Had a Kitakaze chasing me for 4 min in my Balau the other day, just sailed him into my friendly's and when he smoke up i just pinged and torped him in his smoke. He couldn't do jack and that one of the most OP DDs. Dont Daring have like 6.0 or 6.1 km detect? And even IF Daring would be semi decent against a target he can't see unless on top of him, he still waste a match doing jack all just chasing his tail around, so I would never bother with WGs BS minigame, I rather have fun and play my Daring the way it supposed to be played. -

Asaship, Somers and Halllands are quite fun to play still. Just do your thing and give Faak all to the team. Gotta love the fact that on top of all the rest of the BS DDs has to deal with (CVs, radar cruisers radar bbs, radar dds, hydro bbs, hydro dds, hydro cruisers, bbs with long range torps, other dds, Sherman´s, Ragnars) They can also now enjoy pings coming out of nowhere at the start of the game just closing in on a cap followed by 4 very angry homing torps, WHILE NOT HAVING BEEN SPOTTED ONCE in the battle?!?! See, thats just a "skillfull" Sub player spamming pings in every direction on cooldown and sees what sticks....... So, then you are suddenly pinged and homing torps pops out of thin air, with no skill or the enemy dd not even been spotted yet. Just another nail in the coffin for DD players. I really hope my follow DD players just ignore all caps in all games in the future and all suggestions from teammates thet they should try and "hunt" that pesky Sub just sitting in our lines with zero counterplay. Just spot and damage farm for the 5 min the game last and you might have a sliver of fun playing this game. -

I don't think I bother with any of the so called "Superships", they seem quite meeh compared to some of the real Superships of T10 like Thunderer, Conqueror, Smolensk, F Sherman etc. I would rather play one of those and get extra XP and credits for burning the "Superships" to the ground in 5 min. Just my 50 cents. -

I play mostly DDs and I just go about my way after realizing there is no counter for DDs against subs. So just go your way and play your game and let the Sub frustration unleash on the BBs, CVs and cruisers. Subs rarely bother DDs to hard to keep track on, unless you are sitting in a smokescreen. Tried to "hunt" Subs many times in a DD and its useless. You just circle around like a retard whole game and get nothing done, you're not even good for your team. So just don't bother.- 28 replies

This! This was also true regarding Smolensk ni the beginning. 30 % of the player base (that knows how to play) wrecked half the enemy team and 70 % of the player base (that likes to lick windows) got smashed 3 min in, so spreadsheet said it was quite "balanced" Same with most broken ships btw.... Balanced by player base! -

This is my experience as a DD Main 100 % of the time I try and help my team with a sub that just sail straight into out lines/base/spawn. Our BBs are pinging like idiots that I should rush the Sub and deal with him and the occasions I have this is what happens. I sail around like a retard in circles trying to spot and kill a Sub that is never ever spotted while he pings and torp me on cooldown. Also getting shot by his teammates all the time doing this. I will Never do that again, its totally pointless and you are totally useless in your DD role for your team. So all the rest, don't rely on DDs trying to counter these cluuusterfuuucks, because its useless. Subs are just as broken and OP and untouchable as CVs. How many times did Flamu get hits with guns and hits with ASW on this sub and he just kept on going?!?! Balance much? And in his other video a sub took more hits to kill with main battery then both an Kleber and a Elbing. WG hasn't tested Jack Sheaait regarding this. They just cram the new BS into the game and laugh all the way to the bank. Meanwhile the player base just suffers and some even still pour money into this game?!?! (I'm baffled) You don't like getting spam pinged by subs? Uninstall the game! Its the only thing WG will react to. In the end it will just be CVs and Subs on the servers and then they can have their fun, all by themselves.- 64 replies

I loved it when he said the new Protected superclass Subs can now hunt and kill the old protected superclass CVs without any counterplay for the CV...... Imagine that! WeeGee just screeewed over the CV class by accident (just got a smile on my face). Maybe its time to become a Sub main and Specialize on Dolphin maneuver's! -

Why is the ASW equipped to different ships using a Magical 8-ball? For example, why do some heavy cruisers like Hindenburg and a few more have ship based/dropped ASW that are totally useless unless Sub gets a brainfart and try to ram a cruiser and some other get Airdropped with planes?! Why do Conqueror get long range airdropped ASW while its sistership Thunderer gets some puny 4-5 km range?! All these weird differences just gives the whole effect of WG just cramming this into live without any though or testning. Its like Intern-Bob sitting at a desk and just randomly giving ships and classes different ASWs and ranges. No logic found. Or is this just another brainfart way of WeeGee "Balancing".....? On another note, you who have tested the latest editions of subs, is Balau the most broken/OP? The one to grind? -

This was actually news to me and I do frequent the forums now and then. I think what Flamus video pointed out was when all DDs and subs being at the surface and getting blasted by a surface ship a small HP Sub took more penetrations/hits to kill then even a Kleber (with its dam saturation) or Elbing (highest HP of DDs in the game) and this wasn't clear OR obvious to me. I thought subs exploded quite fast when surprised or surfaced, but that didn't seem to be the case OR I'm missing something big here (happens quite a lot). So please correct me if this is the case. For me it seemed like just another "balancing miss" by WG or that they actually created a new broken/OP class to hype for more sales. OR they just FUBARed something in the coding which they do every update and specially when they introduce something new..... Imho a sub that sails around on the surface fully detected around multiple enemy ships should die way quicker then a Elbing.
