Having faced Belfasts a few times, I can safely say that they take annoyance to a new level. But they were squishy, very squishy. I'm sure she will be beloved by many and hated by just as many.

Give it a year or two and there will probably be one on Steam Greenlight...

WG's reaction to the complaints about CVs not doing well in the new economy
Unintentional_submarine replied to Ictogan's topic in General Discussion
Hence why I speculated that we were only seeing part of the changes. But as noted by mr. Mashed Potatoes (Kartoffelmos) the full changes really should be there to see. I mean I expected there to be more, but what can you do when you don't really know it? And what can be tested if nobody knows about any of it? I'm sure a lot of people would like to test improved economic changes out, but why would they if they don't know what they entail, or even if there are any? -

Yeah, I have sent a couple of reports in the year and half I have played. I don't know if the people in question were sanctioned, but the responses were (on these topics) indicative of them actually taking the time to read and watch (screenshots and replays help a lot) what I sent them. Quite glad that these misleading tick marks are going to be specified for WoT. -

But until then I can only laugh at the absolutely ironic situation... Mind you it is an awkward laugh, since I don't know how else to respond to it. -

LOL WG why you so troll? Poor CVs. Their economic plight has become a joke. And some of these changes aren't even 'minor', they are pretty hefty. 100% increase just randomly picked from the list. My hope, and half expectation is that this is just the first step, in a rapid line, to make the CV bill more dynamic, and so far we have only seen the negatives. The question is, for me at least, when will we see the positives? Like say removing the income throttle on CVs? Or providing them with increased income from the things they do? Hopefully it won't be too long. -

That's the thing. The flag makes it possible to ignore fires that would otherwise require the use of a DCP. It creates a lot of freedom in when to use DCP. Also, when the worst thing happens and DCP is on cooldown, it helps a lot. -

I would assume that it is indeed because the correct spelling is uncomfortable in English. Fusou is in English 'Fusow' (heh... Fewsow would probably be painful to hear for a Japanese), alternatively, it can also be 'Fusu' if the person is inclined towards French, thus 'Fuso' is closer to the correct the pronunciation. Perhaps after having listened to too many tourists saying the name wrong, presumably the vast majority of foreign tourists are in fact Americans or Western Europeans, the museum staff said "screw this" and changed the spelling? [EDIT] LOL I just put 'Fusou' into Google Translate to hear it in English... 'Fewsaw'. It is hilariously bad. Try it. -

Yeah Dragon flags are a bit... well unlikely I would think. Or maybe they are in the epic container, which would sort of make sense. Also, in regards to the percentages, I seriously doubt that the Gremy will have a probability of 2% in the epic container (1:500 in total was it?). That would be a probability you could actually fish for, and I doubt that they want her to be anything more than just a very special reward for a few lucky guys. If it turns out to be that high a percentage... oh dear. What, that flag is immensely useful. Well, I suppose you have to play battleships a fair bit, but they are certainly among my most favourite flags. -

In port top left, click your name and it should move to the right tab right away. If not then just cycle them, I can't remember which one it is (Summary I think). There is a little number like a note number at the end of your name. That's your karma. -
What is the reason for the forums to exist?
Unintentional_submarine replied to cherry2blost's topic in General Discussion
Yup. I was in that group until around Christmas last year I think. Every time we got platitudes I liked it (both emotionally and literally), and my mood was sort of "ahh well then it is understandable. It will be better next time." Not so much any longer I'm afraid. -

Having looked at your solo and div'ed stats I can see why you feel that division are always going to 'inflate' stats. But look at mine, and it sort of doesn't match that well to that theory. Yes, the div stats are better, but not greatly. My 3-div is mainly low tiers with friends that don't play much (so essentially sealclubbing with me coordinating our efforts, so I wouldn't put much stock in that). My 2-div stats are are up in WR but considerably down in damage. And looking more closely at them the div stats are lower tier but not as much as the 3-div. So why is that? Well, my theory is two-fold. One is that beyond my division stats, getting them consistently better, you need consistently better players. Essentially there is a soft cap on how far you can take it before you have to get division members who are in the very competitive level of players. The second is that when I play in divisions, I'm sort of throttled. I play incredibly on my feelings. It is actually hard for me to say exactly what I intend as I don't really know until I do it. I have some broad ideas, but I position myself based on how the game unfolds. When in a division I tend to spend a lot of effort trying to make my play mesh with that of my division member. I can't just abandon him, if the situation looks bleak. Now that sounds like I'm saying I'm much better, but I'm actually only barely better. So yes, divisions increase stats, but it is wrong to say that they always increase stats a lot. They will for the vast majority I would think, but they certainly don't for me as I have sort of reached my potential I think. -
Free Emden premium ship + 7 day premium + 1kk credits!
Unintentional_submarine replied to Blixies's topic in General Discussion
Nothing here either... So far nothing from any of these 'drives'. I'm annoyed, not so much that I didn't get anything (I have Emden already, and the other stuff would be nice but since I won't be able to play much, if at all, only the credits really apply for some time), but that they continue this silly some-get-some-don't. Has anyone been 'targeted' more than once the last few months? -

British Accent Voice is Hilarious (Please Change it)

If you hadn't ever known Jingles and just heard the VO in Fractured Space, you would think it to be off in some way. His voice simply doesn't fit very well. -
British Accent Voice is Hilarious (Please Change it)
Unintentional_submarine replied to JobyJudd's topic in General Discussion
He is. He served on a Type 42, HMS Newcastle I think it was. And he has in fact delivered VO for Fractured Space. From what I have heard of that, he would probably not be too fitting for this game. He is simply too pleasant so to speak. -
Unfortunately my desk is worn down from my forehead meeting it. I have built up a cranial ridge a Klingon would be proud of. If WGEU communications were a minefield, they would have stepped on every single one (please don't misunderstand this as me wishing they would actually step into a minefield).

Someone is certainly a masochist it seems. Or maybe just likes to see the furor it will create.

It was a joke based on the usual response when EU doesn't get an event for a special date/holiday/whatever. Most famously the glorious excuse surrounding Black Friday last year. Personally I'm looking forward to what they say this year, as people were so nice as to provide evidence that Black Friday has indeed become a European event too now (for better and worse of course). Or if they will give us a St. Martin's Feast event (of course not) to give us something that is actually European. But then again St. Patrick's Day wasn't celebrated and Ireland in located in Europe... So the point was, WGEU makes excuses for why they can't be bothered to do stuff, and that was used as a joke.

British Accent Voice is Hilarious (Please Change it)
Unintentional_submarine replied to JobyJudd's topic in General Discussion
Because he most likely is a professional. Voice actors are not often given much in terms of artistic license, unless they are well known 'real' actors (the entire voice acting scene is a hive of scum and villainy unfortunately). So he was given a set of lines, and probably given a lot of instructions as to how to do them. And so he did. Alternatively the voice actor knows nothing about pretty much anything fitting for the subject, and so has no idea as to how to say the relevant sentences. I know that happens more often than I care to think about (the Wargame [good RTS games honestly] series is famous for it's stupid sounding VO due to the actors not knowing what it is they utter). -
NA vs EU Warships Community Contributor Battle (Oct 8th)
Unintentional_submarine replied to ShipComrade's topic in General Discussion
I enjoyed the event quite a lot. It was soured by the fact that there were again a lot of crap-posting in the main stream, and the fact that the moderation was pretty much oneway, letting NA shitposters get away with their crap. They were fewer, but that doesn't excuse letting them off the hook. Then there were the actual players and I was disappointed to find that the NA team was as salty as it was. It wasn't all of them, but it was honestly not worthy of much (I mean listen to Notser's 'Untitled' and you can hear he was holding back his bitterness). It was one of the reasons I abandoned the main stream for Clyde's (the others being the onesided TS and of course the crap posters). I will not try to justify my perceptions, I will just give one advice for the future, as I really think that it is a great initiative that shouldn't be abandoned for the future. Mix the teams and don't tout it as a battle between the servers. Simple as that. I expect it would stop pretty much all the stuff I disliked.- 81 replies

You know... I made a joke in the thread about the missing September event calendar, that we would see that one come the 29th. The previous month. You know the month that came before this one. It was a joke, and it obviously didn't happen (thank goodness). But it distresses me a bit that we have an even more serious delay in October. Can we expect that November actually manages to live up to my joke? And why haven't we heard anything until the bloody 10th? Is it really unreasonable to keep us informed of delays that are this big? Did WGEU think they could just sweep this under the rug and hope it fixed itself within a few days? Well, that didn't work, and never works when the delays goes beyond those few days. In the future, please be more on top of this. If the November calendar is delayed too, and we hear nothing about it, then it is clear nobody actually learned anything. But considering the impressive rate of failures in events and communications, why I would expect learning from past mistakes is probably down to me not really believing that to be impossible... despite the evidence piling up.
