    Public test 0.4.0 General Feedback

Turret #4. It won't fire when the boat is in the way. Take a look next time, it is quite hilarious. Nothing wrong with it in terms of bugs etc. But arguably this is a bad annoyance. To make matters worse, the Wyoming has the same issue, only slightly better (boats don't cover as much of the arc), but it gets out of this problem with the later hulls. It is hard to find an image that can quite capture my feelings about this, but this comes close.

In the memory of USS Missouri

Yes, a very nice ship that rightfully deserves it's accolades. However the last battleship to ever be built was HMS Vanguard.

Wargaming please balance the number of CVs on each team

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hull_classification_symbol Better get used to it, it is a common thing in modern time period naval games.

See HE is still the ammo of choice

I have for the time being dropped the idea of picking the Fire Prevention skill, the mod is still better than it's alternatives, which says something about the others (unless you are in a DD of course, and I might consider the rudder mod for cruisers as they tend to get knocked out oh so often). I have also but Pyromania on hold... Wait what? Yes. Why bother with it when regular is enough? 3% won't cause that many more fires, and that has to be compared to the other skills at that tier (or any combination of 3+1 and 2+2).

    Dat moment...

This is what I got from the OP Seems we have that in common.

Suggestion regarding IJN CV and general CV balance

Now you too have learned what many of us have. Interestingly the NA boards are still running with the idea that USN TBs are poor somehow. But then again they tend to have this strange notion that most if not all USN ships are UP, and that it is only right if a USN ship were better than it's IJN counterpart. In any case, USN planes are generally just better. Their fighters are tougher and have more ammo. Their TBs are tougher (mostly) and get better torps in the end. And their DBs are significantly better, with better bombs.

    Food for thought

I have a strong feeling that the 'depression issue' is a myth. The German guns in question, the 105mms on the C/31 and C/38 mountings were able to depress 8 and 10 degrees respectively. That is more than plenty to hit the Swordfish planes, even considering their relatively high positions on Bismarck. The issue is probably the simple thing that two different mountings were used, that had different elevation and training characteristics which was apparently not accounted for in the AA gunnery tables. Hence the guns would have fired off target enough to make it felt, and the Swordfish didn't really get close enough for the 20mms to do their job. In general, Bismarck's AA guns, big or small, should have been able to target the Swordfish planes, no matter how low they flew.

    HMS Warspite in wows

Yes, that would probably produce something. If not by the very author of that article (it is after all pretty old), but the main site is still active and the owner updates stuff and gets new articles. He should be interested I would think.

    HMS Warspite in wows

No, Scharnhorst arguably holds a few hundred meters over Warspite. I don't know where you get that 22km from. Scharnhorst hit Glorious at 16:38, she fired no later than 16:37 and at 16:36 the range was 242 hm (hectometers, or meters x100), that's 24200 meters. This is a range that stayed constant for a few minutes as She wasn't going head on onto Glorious. She hit with that range put into her gunnery table. http://www.warship.org/no11994.htm See the table near the end that shows note 6, it includes Scharnhorst's gunnery summery (from the ship itself). But this article should put any 22km assumptions to rest. Arguably the difference is academic at best, and there is a reason most people just lump the two together. Besides, there is the White Plains incident, which is still not as clear as one could hope for. And if that was indeed a hit, then the title goes to Yamato by a wide margin.

    The carrier problem.

Straight Lines - please carry on!

They will turn their ships a little bit (I'm beginning to think for alibi reasons), but mainly they will just complain harder.

Best Defeat simulator i have ever played!

Tell me about it. When it started getting popular I was completely confused... I thought it was a bad mess-up of 'rectal', since that is the sort of thing gameslag tends to produce. Eventhough I quickly learned/understood the true meaning I can't help but get a bit of that initial reaction every time. So it never becomes a provocation to me, more like a joke, and more serious, the more fun it is.

    Please Nerf Destroyer

They clearly worked in this case.
  14. Unintentional_submarine

    What is a "bullseye"?

Bullseye is simply when you do a hit that does a lot of damage. Citadel or not. However it should be noted that it is merely one of a few comments you can get for that. There is also "enemy ship heavily damaged".
  15. Unintentional_submarine

Languages to be added like WOT?

"Carrier has arrived" But protoss are already in! I can't help laughing every time I'm the last ship sailing so to speak, and get to hear that Arbiter talk to me. Well, he honestly , but I like to think of him as an Arbiter.

    Carrier rebalance

Technically they did, even if it was not done at the same time. Hosho and Langley got their strike loadouts removed. And honestly, it made their gameplay more interesting. And that tier 3 skill... urgh. It will always be unbalanced when at the low tiers the only advantages of fighter upgrades are speed and some health. Thus suddenly the slower plane will be much more dangerous than the higher tier one. It is exactly the wrong way to address this issue. Let's imagine they change the skill so it is more balanced at low tiers (so that the higher tier plane will win but not massively), then it will not do enough in the mid tiers, and will again be somewhat ok at the high tiers. It is the DPS progression of the planes that work against it as it is static for a while, then it jumps massively, only to plateau out at the high tiers. You can just give a bonus that is roughly even per tier difference, or it will mess things up somewhere, and badly. And it says nothing of the fact that the skill is useless a lot of the time. It only works when things are already bad. No enemy CV? No use (well scout fighters do count). Enemy CV lower tier or has slower fighters? No use again. Or worse, two enemy CVs of lower tiers... You are downright screwed then.

Critical hits in battles since 0.4.0

Engine and rudder criticals do appear to be uncomfortably common. It is crazy how often I have experienced one of those two, repaired it (to get out of that bad situation) only to get it knocked out again on the very next hit. I spent most of a match locked up against an island as my rudder was continually knocked out. Turned out it wasn't all bad as the enemies just kept coming around the islands so I could torp them. But if they hadn't been so nice as to present me with plenty target like that, it would have sucked.
  18. Unintentional_submarine

    wtf happened to yubari?

Yes. The Yubari has always been a horrible citadel city made of glass. I would rate her as the most fragile ship in the entire game (yes more fragile than DDs). Once I got a citadel against it with my secondaries...
  19. Unintentional_submarine

Where is the Ishizuchi t4 ijn BB the NA server has it......

Well, it is a battlecruiser. The Myogi is also a battlecruiser. Kongo used to be one, and arguably remained somewhat iffy in the battleship department. And the Amagi is the last battlecruiser. And their stats show as much, fast and rather limited in the armour department, even if the thickness isn't visible any longer.

New ships in WoWs: Diana, Marblehead, Tachibana and Mikasa

You messed up the link and missed the ). Anyway, I saw a screen of the Tachibana some time ago and it is certainly the old one. But being me I had to make a search on it and found the late one, and thought "that's gotta suck", and it seems it will in either case. Also, she won't be the first DD with secondaries, the Umikaze has a few small guns that act as secondaries. They get replaced with a third main gun, or at least some of them do, at the hull upgrade.

Map glitching - Especially Carrier Players

Actually we don't know if they will 'do something' about it. The only thing we know is that the border mechanic will be changed in the far future. That could be as little as making the current mechanic somewhat slower (or faster *gasp* but that would be very strange), and thus keeping the present mechanic is place, or as much as making something entirely new. Don't read too much into a very vague comment. It might be everything we all have wanted with the border, but it might just as well be close to nothing.
  22. Unintentional_submarine

    Ishizuchi

I remember from back when we could see the armour thickness, that she has a very thin belt. We are talking sub-200mm. So she is incredibly vulnerable. However she is fast and have 5 turrets. She should be treated as a real WWI battlecruiser, and hunt cruisers, while staying clear of enemy BBs that actually engage her. Considering the cruisers around her tier, her lack of range shouldn't be much of an issue. I can certainly see some loving her, while others hating her, as that's what very onesided stats tend to do.
  23. Unintentional_submarine

Fix the map border exploit already

It is way closer to working as intended than your glorious mocking makes it look like. They clearly don't consider it an issue or they would rework it now. Far in the future means they are not satisfied with some minor aspects of it, and let's be honest, bordersliding isn't a minor aspect. [EDIT] All right, Cronos has removed the offending bits, so all is cool again.

    Spotting Aircraft + changed view

I can certainly support an option for a regular snipermode. Not everyone likes the satellite view.

Fix the map border exploit already

Considering they have posted the very thing on the RU forums, I think the two of you should eat some humblepie.
