Having vacancies and filling them are two different things... Just saying.

HE spam is killing the fun

...and to be honest to OP the search function in this forum (and all forums) is usually pants... so repetitive posts are hardly surprising (I tried searching once, didn't find anything, posted, the same content was in the post on page 2....) so cut OP some slack. There is a point though. HE feels OP if you don't know better. Knowledge is power. As I said before you need to learn how to avoid situations where HE feels "OP". I used to feel this way. I don't know. I am aware... Same with DD torps. So we need specific guides on "how to" avoid being a BB BBQ... (I love BBs that don't "know" and let themselves get burnt to a crisp when I am sailing my cruisers... - at the same time I play BBs and hardly ever get burnt to a crisp...) Then again OP - what BB? What tier? What build are you running (modules, captain skills), and do you use premium repair and heal? (Please, use premium heal and repair!!!)

What is the reason for the forums to exist?

Yes. The forums are part of the community. The remit for manageing that is the community coord, not STs. Mods "mod" as per forum rules though. We do not need, nor want "self appointed police" to derail threads. And I would remind you that when an ST posts on the forum, such as myself, it is their opinion not the opinion of WG, nor are they holding any kind of party line (in fact, we love to argue ) Whether this happened or not in a thread which I have not seen and is now closed, I cannot comment on. I doubt however that was in the mind of anyone posting, and I'm sure mods will have been modding to keep the forum "orderly" above anything else. There is no vendetta here. And if there is, that's very wrong. I will say mods will, and should, lock threads which are in general "getting out of hand" - as per your opening statement. That is the intent, take it in that spirit. If you have been misinterpreted, reply politely that you feel that way, and perhaps try modifying the way you say things so you can't be "read" as attacking someone, even if it seems unnecessary. Sometimes, especially with internet communication, its very easy for someone to read into something you've typed when you didn't intend that at all. If in doubt, give the benefit of the doubt... In the end, we are on the same side. People who care about the game and want to see it improve. And it is, and in general I feel WG are doing a decent job of advancing the game. Yes things could be better and yes we need more WG bods to communicate... such things like: - a proper game wiki - current and up to date FAQs. A resource we can point people at immediately when someone opens a thread titled "HE is OP, I keep getting burned to death in my BB" kind of stuff... - frequent updates from devs, in all languages - A blog, kept current - 2 way comms between the community and the game developers And guess what, since this kind of communication is profitable (better game!) WG want that too... which is why they are recruiting...

HE spam is killing the fun

...while it is frustrating to have to go over the same topics and complaints over and over, it might be good I think to compile a "list of answers" for these topics so that we can simply reply with "read this". Just a thought. To OP. HE is the only way a cruiser and small ships can hope to even hurt a BB. BBs can heal. If you are getting burnt down all the time then: - You are overexposed - you are repairing at the wrong time - You aren't close enough to the HE spamming cruiser to devastate him reliably - Your team have all died (possibly because you camped) BB play is more than "point and shoot". You need to be with your team and support them, but not alone up front, and certainly not alone at the back! As for killing the "fun". Fun is outplaying your enemies. If you learn from the experience of getting HE spammed and think "how can I use tactics to avoid this and still win and contribute" - its more fun

    Game design

If you're in such an unfortunate situation try not to make an obvious turn. Use WASD and "juke" a turn, then make the turn at some random speed and hope to throw the enemy off. Then pray.

What is the reason for the forums to exist?

There is such a thing as "reading between the lines". Both correctly and incorrectly. Usually based on prior knowledge of what has been said before. The *root cause* remains frustration on ALL sides about a situation which is unfortunate but sadly none of us *here* can do much about.

What is the reason for the forums to exist?

I've not been spamming the forum lately. Been too busy. Maybe that's the problem. I go away and everyone loses their **** Ok. Correlation doesn't imply causation. The way I see it is that WG are understaffed. Go look st the job adverts page... with fewer people around to do all the jobs a disconnect will be created between forumites and devs. Mods and STs get caught in the middle. It's understandable that all sides get frustrated with the situation. So it's not surprising that 1-people vent on the forum and 2-the other side - fully aware and frustrated by the *same problem* feel attacked and react. We're only human. All of us.

British Accent Voice is Hilarious (Please Change it)

Dear OP, Brits certainly did speak like the voiceovers in WWII...And one of the voices sounds exactly like me...

    Citadel damage reduction upgrade.

Spot on. The problem isn't cruiser survivability. The problem is too many battleships. 2 bbs a side and lots of cruisers and the problem goes away. If you incentive cruiser play this solves the current meta problem. Overhaul cv play. Make cruisers able to make more credits than bbs. Make people want to play cruisers. Some of this is a hangover from the German bb line release. We need Royal Navy cruisers and then another line of heavy cruisers next I think. Also I can't help but think AA on BBs is just too strong at the minute.

    RN CLs With New AP

Valid discussion but all speculation. Another "wait and see" See this is why leaks and early information usually goes badly. People get a bit of info then start to get "hysterical"
  12. Admiral_noodle

    So let's talk Steel Ocean.

We shouldn't really discuss other games here. But I will say Steel Ocean is 90% inferior to wows and actually hurts my eyes to look at. It does have some good ideas. Which WG should steal Given the game is a WoT on water knock off anyway.

Will the RN cruiser make high tier battles worse?

And why not, so long as CA are RNCL worst nightmare. Teamwork FTW?

High tier BB bow armor nerf? WAKE UP AND STOP BEING STUPID

Oh wait. We are arguing the same logic and using different terms. Yes. You should not be punished for taking damage. You should be punished for not achieving very much.

High tier BB bow armor nerf? WAKE UP AND STOP BEING STUPID

Huh? Repair costs are crippling if you sink but if you survive without much damage taken you usually make money. I'm basically proposing flat fee for entering tier X (with a bit of cost if you sink). Therefore to offset your FLAT costs (ammo costs don't increase the more you fire) you need to DO something. Cap. Do damage etc. Now if you got more XP and credits from damage early game it would encourage ppl to go forward and get their damage in early so as to offset the costs - which will come whether you die or not. So what if you die early too? If repair costs are reduced at least lucky RNG won't punish you quote so much. Players won't be quite so scared to even be spotted. At the moment passive play is rewarded. Going first and dying (high risk low reward) is punished with repair costs. Holding a flank is punished. Dying for the team is punished. Skulking, invisifiring, hiding, sniping and even losing is rewarded... As long as you don't die.

High tier BB bow armor nerf? WAKE UP AND STOP BEING STUPID

If people could stop having a personal argument in this thread that would be great. One of you stop replying to the other. I don't care who I honestly think the problem at tier X is that you are rewarded for not dying a lot more than you are punished for not doing much damage. I would: - reduce repair costs a lot - increase flat service/ammunition costs - implement a system where early damage is rewarded more.
  17. Scharnhorst is a cruisership. The opposite of a battle cruiser. Battleship armour and cruiser guns instead of battleship guns and cruiser armour

The REAL TRUTH behind the sudden RN CL changes?

    made me laugh.

High tier BB bow armor nerf? WAKE UP AND STOP BEING STUPID

Again wait and see what the changes bring before going overboard To me the main problem of high tier *is* the economy. Not the costs - the whole economy. Sitting back doing minimal damage and suffering no damage is rewarded. Doing "ok" damage and sinking is punished. The economy should be reworked so "doing very little" unpunished instead.

König: Bad ship, bad player or victim of tier 5 MM?

The last 6 tier V games I played I've been top tier 5 times and the other game was a V-VI. For me anyway the tier 5 "problem" is nowhere near as bad now and even the tier VII games I get into aren't "heavy" tier VII. Of course that depends on who wants to play what at what time. Maybe people who are still suffering in endless tier VII games are just playing at unlucky times. As for Konig, she is a "solid" ship, but nothing special. She isn't the best when uptiered either.

Will the RN cruiser make high tier battles worse?

Well I am taking the approach by WG as a good thing. They clearly care about the game and gameplay - enjoyment = money right? So they are right to rework if they feel the line would not improve the game overall.

    MM fail

Looking at the original make up again. Warspite needs to focus on high tier cruiser targets. Her guns can take those down. Nurnberg wouldn't be a terrible DD hunter with her RoF and good hydro. Playing to the strengths of those ships could easily deliver a win in that match up. ...but I bet they didn't do that. Part of the challenge of the tier system is to work out how to make your lower tier ship useful for the team. And even discussing the situation before the game starts or at the start. I remember being a St. Louis in a tier V match and coming up with "ways to be useful". But if the players say "STFU I play how I want" - then you can bet you'll be in for a tough game and gave to get your carry pants on. But again. Comes down to players not MM. This match wasn't decided by the ships but by the players.

Having frame rate issues, any help is appreciated

Quick check. Are you sure the game is using your graphics card and not the in built one by mistake?

    MM fail

3 Yamatos vs 3 iowas is certainly a lot worse than your game. Of course it can still be won if you work as a team, with everyone else burning and torping the Yamatos while your iowas try to rack up cruiser kills or outflank the Yamatos and citadelling them. So I say that while such a setup is challenging (since Yamato overmatches everything) the Iowa team can win if it's cleverer than the enemy team. Give me three Unicums in the Iowa and 3 average Yamato players. Iowa team wins. Player skill > ships in this game. MM is a lot better now. However I do not want to see every game a mirror match. I think the balance is pretty good now. The problem with mid tier "fail divisions" is that they are usually the worst and by definition will have less than stellar players in them. So your issue would likely have been compounded by player skill. But I could be wrong of course. I am guilty of fail divisioning as I will sometimes go in my Iowa with my friends Yamato. In fact that's the only time I want to play my Iowa with a Yamato in front of me
