I foresee no nerfs. I foresee a lot of players struggling to work out how to play them. Especially mid tier. Of course my crystal ball could be wrong.
-
Yes I will be grinding them. Not immediately though. I would like the massive horde to clear out first. Probably play bbs or even grind some dds while everyone else is playing Royal Navy. I'll come back to them maybe in a few weeks when it's calmed down about.
-
While that reasoning is consistent and would be unquestionably fair, there are a large number of players who like to customise their UI. If you draw such a hard line you immediately remove that from them. To keep a balance WG has guidelines which are - I would say - "fuzzy round the edges". They require judgement to decide if they actually give a player an advantage over the vanilla client. Knowing which dd is where on the minimap *is* an advantage I would say. As is this mod. But is it acceptable? I would say "tolerable" given the framework we have to work in (see fuzzy above). Trouble is I don't really see a way which would keep both sides of this polarising argument happy.

Well they are out tomorrow. Every ship in the line can be made to work. Every ship in every line can be made to work pretty much. The only real question is whether you will enjoy them. And I would say they "aren't for everybody". And that's true of every ship *looks at Bayern, Hipper, and Iowa in port and shakes head* They aren't forgiving of mistakes that's for sure and will require ingenuity to get the best out of them. I'm interested to see how they do statistically. If come tomorrow we are swamped with then they will - at least for awhile - change the game meta itself. So how they perform initially may be skewed by their very presence. However I look forward to the inevitable discussions.

Containers - what will be your strategy?
Admiral_noodle replied to ilhilh's topic in General Discussion
Love this idea. I'll be going try your luck pretty much every time. I have credits flags etc and generally play to my in game budget. Try your luck is much more interesting than missions. "Win 3 games for 50k". "10 torpedo hits for 500xp". Uninspiring and largely ignored. Now we have goodies to play with and a lottery to play -
But... if you apply that logic (which is a fair line to take I just don't agree) the problem is that apart from ship skins every single mod should potentially be banned. Remove fog? Makes comfort of game better-> advantage. Etc etc. Now if you're anti-mods. Then you are self consistent . I "don't mind" this sort of mod and appreciate people like modding. I also think it's up to WG to decide what constitutes an "unfair" advantage. I am genuinely on the fence about mods and I can see both sides. This particular mod I personally don't think it's powerful enough to warrant banning. And I hope it goes to the vanilla client in future. And no offence taken. I can understand your argument.

I would class this mod as "marginally useful" You can judge angle with your eyes + minimap. The mod gives you a clearer more exact answer but how many times will it actually make you do something different. I agree it should be in the base game though if it's popular. It's in the grey area between cosmetic and advantage for me. It is possibly an advantage for some but if you know the auto bounce angle anyway (and isn't it different for US AP?) and you can judge what 60 degrees looks like, you sort of do it in your head anyway I voted leave it in. Specifically to see if it's popular and then everyone might get it. Other former "marginally useful" mods are now in game. Like last known position.

I compliment. And I will compliment a good player on the enemy team too.
-
The info is readily available if you have a good eye, a big minimap and a big screen. However i would like to see the option in the vanilla game. Given we have seen other things make their way into the game perhaps this will too at some point.

Thanks. I am now genuinely sad now

would have thought, re: teamkilling... IF player does > X damage against friendly AND gets reported in the same game by more than Y people then he becomes grey and everyone can kill him.
-
Maybe we should have an "unload your salt" thread where NO ONE is allowed to criticise what you write But that does suck. I've encountered TKs once or twice and it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. I have to walk away. After reporting them

OP I have no other advice left other than... Grow up. 1 - Opening a thread on how to close your account when you KNOW you can a) google it or b) raise a ticket (or c) read the rules, its in there) just makes you look like a self entitled attention seeker 2 - This: "My reasons are simple a bunch of Hitler, blue eyed, elitists calling themselves Testers of one sort or another!" - If that's aimed at my fellow STs then you really don't understand what we do, and why focus on us, plenty of the rest of the community were also trolling you in your other thread 3 - Why are you quitting the game because some people weren't nice to you on the internet? This is the worst case of "throwing toys" I've ever seen. If you must do it then fine, but your only harming yourself anyway...

+1 Crossing the T in wows does not equate to broadside on. You can still be angled. It is a fleet action where the alignment of fleets means the entire force of the "crosser" maximises its firepower while the opposing fleet is picked off a section at a time. In addition a key element of crossing the T is having ships on both flanks of the enemy fleet at its head, thus in wows ensuring someone on your team has broadside shots. <insert picture examples>

Then just refer people to the guide when they open these posts "read this and come back". Forum search isn't all that great you know.

Be gentle on OP. The point is if you are not experienced as a BB captain getting HE spammed and burnt to death all the time can be extremely frustrating. It feels like it's OP and killing the fun. No wonder people come here upset. But we the forum community can then help by pointing out how to mitigate the issue and play in ways so you DON'T get spammed and burnt to death. Thus bringing back the fun and keeping a player playing the game. So shouldn't we be trying to help? Even if we've heard it hundreds of times before. In fact it's a good thing. If posts are being made about the same perceived problem over and over, it surely means the game is still attracting new players feeling the same pain for the first time. What we really need is a BB guide (and other ship guides) we can simply point people at.

Don't sweat it I have 55 karma. Karma is just a balance of how nice people are feeling. I would suggest that karma is harder to get the higher tier you play. Because high tier is full of: - jaded good players who know compliments don't do anything - angry try hards who think they are better than they are and that having a high tier ship entitles them to something.
-
I would suggest it's the aggregate knowledge of the forum. If someone answers and they are wrong someone else will correct. It's the law of the internet. So all you have to do it update the first post with the "generally accepted view" or actually post both sides of a contentious point in the answer. If it turns out a generally accepted view is factually incorrect, then we can ask WG to have a look at the answers from time to time and correct us. We can ask

British Accent Voice is Hilarious (Please Change it)
Admiral_noodle replied to JobyJudd's topic in General Discussion
Some are a bit "dramatic" but in general they sound British. One sounds like Brian Blessed to me "let's show em what we've got chaps". They should have got Brian Blessed to do them all actually. Please? -
Run out of +1s. "Where is that plane?" Is a good one.

WG - Dont take long to fix the CV economy you dont have too...(wait do they read this?)
Admiral_noodle replied to Crusherheads's topic in General Discussion
At the risk of sounding like a WG fanboy... They are almost certainly aware (again it would be nice to have cast iron confirmation communicated but I know they are understaffed and busy etc) and it's probably on the to do list. A "fix" will take time to code and release. Stats will be being gathered. That will indicate there's a problem anyway. But then an economy tweak needs to be tested (otherwise a massive bork could happen!) and then released. Don't expect a "hot fix". Those are risky and only released when the game is properly broken (like the AP error) I'm in IT so I know these things take a frustrating amount of time. Unavoidable. Unless you want fail patches... -
Just how ridiculous DD's really are, DD's fans i laugh at you
Admiral_noodle replied to FrankMVenlo's topic in Archive
This +1. Why would I be anti battleship. I play BBs and cruisers and nothing else (although I've just bought a Leningrad, so I can be a wallet warrior tier 7 DD player with no prior DD experience ) and *I* hate "BBabies"... But I hate that term as well Basically the "hate" is directed at people who think "ooh I have battleship, I should be invincibru"... Who complain about burning to death or being torped... When they are "L2P" issues... -
Common ones to add... 1 - My fire chance says 15%, but in game I am getting much lower fires than that percentage, why? 2 - Why is my "penetration" doing no damage? 3 - Why did I hit an enemy ship with three torpedoes but he didn't sink? Referring to the damage model and fire model...

What is the reason for the forums to exist?
Admiral_noodle replied to cherry2blost's topic in General Discussion
My advice to WG. Do one thing and do it right. There is so much that could be improved if you try it all at once it's doomed to failure. Or at least limited success. The forum should suggest what that one thing is. My vote would be: weekly Q&As answered religiously. And the top ten questions as voted for no matter how inane or hard to answer. If you can't answer, say so. Or do your best. Do that *religiously* for several months. If it's a success move into the next "one thing "
