Just ran into txtspeak while sailing my baguette... again! He was on the enemy team in a dd threatening to one shot me We met at C on neighbours. Sadly I missed him and my team unfortunately finished him off. The game ended close. With a fuso and a konig playing chicken with me around a rock. Which was fun. We won -
Personally... So I see it as encouragement to go out in my tier 9 and also get up there with other ships. So I like it. I like that it's on wins and I like the 2 months. So yeah. Thanks WG. I'll try to give my Iowa a go and get to Baltimore. I've been meaning to but haven't seen the point. Now there's a point... What I don't like is the massive amount of complaining about the rules. None of us are entitled to a free ship. This is an opportunity for goodness sake. And by the looks of things there will be more anyway to get the arp ships... who knows.

I wouldn't say it's a bug. They have always had to hit the water. If you hear the launch and splash and they still don't appear it could simply be desync. The launch sound is client side. Your client tells the server you launch - server says you died. If there is a very slight delay between the two you actually died a fraction of a second earlier... And we always ask for replays because often people claim things that simply aren't true. Sadly. Not accusing OP of this at all. -

Well at least OP started by asking how to adapt. And some people it seems have adapted. I find it disappointing that other people don't like to adapt, apparently fear change and would rather quit the game because their usual style of play is being challenged. Better than a stale game. As a mainly cruiser player I can see the other side. When to use radar? Will it be any use? The fear of wasting it. Suggest one way of learning - play the radar cruisers and know your enemy.

Trouble is OP you can't say you feel HE is too good vs. AP and then say you don't care about game mechanics. Learn when to shoot AP and when to shoot HE and all will become clear.

No. I like them. From tier 6+ Tiers 4 and 5 are garbage and I think that leaves a bad taste in people's mouths. Also they are the first line to be really different. Although actually they aren't... US cruisers - generally no torps except two. Very good ap from tier 7. AA cruisers. Ijn cruisers - torps and he specialists with generally poor turret traverse. Russian cruisers - flimsy fast not very agile ships which can be seen a mile off. But with railguns and range German cruisers - generally all rounders. Good hydro but not amazing at anything Royal Navy - stealthy, agile, have smoke, but are citadels with no armour and have special AP only. So we have cruisers with different flavours. I hope the next line brings something new too. My only genuine complaint is that Danae and emerald aren't any fun to play.

I did say Danae and emerald were bad, Leander is ok but Fiji and up are decent and *fun*. I stick by that and it looks like at least a few others agree

No because damage isn't everything. I've had low damage games where I've contributed to a win by simply stopping a dd from capping our base. Playing cat and mouse but it was my job to ensure he didn't cap. I did ensure that. But I didn't kill him and in that game scored very low damage. We won though. I don't want the game to end up as damage whoring. I've also had a game wher my tier 8 hipper shot down 20 planes in a win. While I did 0 damage. But I was escorting the bbs who were doing damage. We had all the caps and the enemy wouldn't get close enough for me to shoot them. Why would I risk the obvious win by dying pointlessly. Also the tutorial? Seriously if that came up as mandatory after three bad games I'd rage quit.

Tubit - ok that makes sense. You could have 3 tiers of MM roughly equally sized. Like leagues with background promotion and relegation. Of course divisions completely screw that. This is sounding like a new version of ranked.

...this is also true of ijn dds though. You also need your enemies to be compliant and sail into your torpedoes. I prefer RNCL gameplay to ijn dds (heresy!)

Yes there is coop. But that's a lot slower to advance. And it's dull. Plus some people like shooting other people. We all do For randoms it's probably just best left alone. But I'd like something other than ranked to get my team based fix. Roll on clans I suppose.

Except everyone deserves to get to tier ten no matter how good they are. Some people are fails and will never get any good. But we shouldn't say "you never get to play X ship" because of it. That's wrong. It's a game. A game people pay money for if they buy premium. Denying them content based on ability is wrong. In random battles I'm fine with accepting the randomness. Everything evens out in the end and over time I'll get the averages I deserve. Randoms should be seen as apt active for - ranked - teams - clans Or as a bit of fun to be had divisioninf with friends, or simply the joy of shooting your guns and torpedoes in your pixel version of a real warship. Or as a credit making mission completing task. You don't "win" anything in randoms so the squealing by some is rather over the top. That said it would be nice if teams were running still, clans are coming. But it would also be nice if there was as an option to play "team oriented" random battles with like minded people without being limited to 3 in a division. Maybe some kind of queue system where bigger divisions can communicate to arrange a game ad hoc, like a list of 5 man divisions and the tiers they are playing in queue so you can "accept" an invite. Then you go into random queue and it puts the divisions on opposing sides.

I don't like the games mechanic. I also can't remember the last time I got randomly deleted in a cruiser either. Every time I get deleted it's because I took a risk and it didn't pay off. Or I didn't pay attention. And in a battleship it's usually the incompetent cruisers I will delete. Look for signs of obvious straight lining. Delete or overpen as appropriate. However I might suggest a more realistic approach to the original idea. Fall of shot. If you're firing at targets within x of shell splashes from another ship you suffer worse dispersion. This was actually a thing in naval battles and made it harder for fleets to focus down targets as you didn't know whose shells were what splashes. Of course in game we see the shells but you could add the dispersion debuff. Would make focussing down of any target harder. But I don't dislike that. Also it would make shooting at close together ships harder -helping escort classes. And that would also help dds that torp because of target rich environment.

...until you base MM off it. Which would reduce WR... which would invalidate your MM. See my problem?

MM +/-2 is fine but I do think MM should take into account the numbers of each tier. I don't like seeing 2 tier 6s in a game where half the team is tier 8. Smoke is fine. Yes a rework would be nice but it's fine as it is. And I've seen less camping *at the back* since RNCL were introduced and actually a lot more close up fights. Detonations. I think you should be able to credit buy the flag to prevent it. So you can choose not to take the risk. Explosions should be more dramatic. Replay function fully integrated would be nice. With a publish option.
