Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

Im not surprised. It's completely understandable and to be expected. However I don't think getting quite as outraged as some are and expressing such rage is particularly in proportion to the trigger. And it's not good for you But no. I'm not surprised at all.

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

You could always start an anonymous polite poll/petition for the convoy missions to see if the forum generally agreed that the missions ought to be offered equally globally for events like this. Without loading the question that way people who don't mind won't be put off from commenting lest they be savaged for having an unpopular opinion

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

Mostly this is why some people are reacting to posts of rage. I wouldn't put it like that. I completely agree that the decision by WG EU is unfair, a mistake (in my view), does nothing for community relations and is, well bafflingly stupid However the level of outrage in some posts made me wonder what would happen to the posters if they encountered a situation where they were *actually ripped off* by a company, rather than unfairly not given as much free stuff... Would they detonate in rage? Is there an even greater level of outrage yet to be reached? So yes, perspective. I think some people (not just some STs there are others) get hacked off when people go overboard emotionally. Maybe its cultural or an age thing... But I can see both sides. So if you are feeling *actual rage* about this issue take a step back, breathe, realise its just a game and you're not actually losing anything you already have, and roll back the rage to "disgruntled"/"not impressed".

    German Destroyers Nerfed Before Launch

It's classic teething problems when a development shop goes from releases "ad hoc" to releases on a schedule. Early on the teams usually underestimate/plan for things not going to plan then get in a pickle I would expect this kind of thing to reduce in 2017 as they get more into the groove of scheduled content release.

    German Destroyers Nerfed Before Launch

They are not supposed to push ships to a given date, in fact a release date should only be set after all the testing is done. While I agree with your sentiment entirely have you ever worked in IT? 16 years in IT development and we say time and time again "give us the requirements and we will plan, with contingency for last minute changes" This never happens! Oh I wish it did but almost all the time we get given the release schedule and then told what IT needs to do...

    German Destroyers Nerfed Before Launch

If properly explained I disagree. "We are delaying the ships as they need proper testing of some changes made to balance them" will NOT cause the level of disquiet in the community. However it won't look good on the schedules/targets WG need to keep to their shareholders for example... Such is the way of the world.

German destroyers and the future of stealth firing

Don't forget devs ALSO said they were aware of too many BBs for their liking and would be looking at that. The devs for me have given a pretty clear idea of what they want the game to be like... - balanced and fun for all classes - accessible to all players of all skill levels Now that is *some ask*! But don't think devs want BBs to be buffed all over the place and DDs nerfed into the ground. Its just they need to work out how to get the right balance.

German destroyers and the future of stealth firing

I don't like invisifire in open water just because it's "gamey". Devs have already said they don't like it. So it's been effectively removed from DEDDs. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this is a test to see what happens to destroyers who can't invisifire. I would expect by this time next year *personal opinion* that stealth fire will be gone. Now some of the game is balanced around invisifire. This is unquestionable. The key thing is whether dds need compensating if they lose the ability across the board. If they do there are a number of compensation mechanisms they might try. One or example would be to fiddle with dispersion based on the ship you're firing at. This already happens with the camos. WG could introduce a "hard to hit at extremes of detectability" mechanic. Who knows. But devs want two things. - no invisifire from open water - balance Let's not forget that the devs want all players to enjoy the experience. If they see a performance/play drop off in the stats they will address it.

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

Ran out of likes This is true. At the end of the day - and you know I wholly dislike what EU have done here. It is unfair - no one has lost anything. Nothing has been taken away. You can still get a free ship for playing. It's still a nice campaign from wargaming. Not as nice as everywhere else and THATs what irks everyone. Justifiably. But perspective. It's not like we are losing out. Just not gaining as much. Polite feedback of our displeasure is appropriate. Losing your **** over it really isn't As a "protest" this whale will not buy GS. I will grind her. I won't buy the camo on offer either as I do not see value in the purchase as other regions can potentially get it free. Had the NA offer been there I'd have bought GS and done the convoy missions. Had all the options been there I'd have done the missions for GS then likely BOUGHT the camo. So result of EU decision from me = net loss for WG. Small impact I'm sure but that is my decision.

    German Destroyers Nerfed Before Launch

It appears that the nerf to the firing detection debuff did not get communicated to CCTs (just go look at IChase video). I say appears because I am not the Oracle This change means all but the tier X cannot invisifire now. For me personally when I tested them I didn't go for invisifire builds. I don't have a CE German captain anyway so tended to opt for a non invisifire play style. Probably a bit too aggressive in mid tiers which got me sunk a lot. I flat out didn't use invisifire on the T8 and found it a great ship for me personally anyway. I think it's unfortunate if CCTs have made overviews based on not having all the facts so I sympathise with IChase. However that aside "nerfing before release" is called balancing and to be expected. No point crying about that. As has been said if the DEDD now underperform expect changes. Always expect changes

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

So I wake up this morning to more outrage. Understandable. As I've said before I dislike the decision by WGEU. It's not a slight difference this time. It's not a variation. It's that EU players are sinply not getting the opportunity to get *a lot* of free stuff. The argument that it's too challenging is invalid. WGEU could have just done the missions AND offered content for sale. So this makes no sense. Instead missions are being deliberately edited out of the client so EU can sell us things other regions can (only) get through missions free. So along with the explanation, I'm not buying it ...however. It's not some evil Russian conspiracy. It's not "sickening". It's not (for me anyway) going to make me quit and stomp off because I'm getting *less free stuff* than someone else. I get that people are annoyed, but possibly *too* annoyed emotionally now? Reading through the thread I can almost feel the angry mob whipping itself up into even more of a frenzy. Calm down And throwing things at STs in this rage doesn't help. There are plenty of other people on the forum even *not that bothered* by this. They aren't going to post though because they'd get lynched! TLR. It's a bad decision. It is unfair. WGEU ought to reconsider. Don't buy the premium camo. Don't lose your **** over it though and don't go around attacking people who had nothing to do with the decision.

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

It is disappointing. But I'm not going to let the decision of the marketing team or whatever ruin my enjoyment of the game. I'll still be grinding for the Graf Spee. Try not to let this get under your skin too much and remember you've lost nothing over this in reality.... It's still a pants decision and we should collectively impress on WGEU our dissatisfaction. I would be interested to hear what CCTs think for example. Like those on YouTube. Anyway see you on the high seas hopefully

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

I'm going to bet "no" on the first question. Looks to me like an approved copy and paste of text in bullet points. Plus he does say he understands why people are upset and is only attempting to "shed *at least* some light". Dont shoot the messenger
  14. Admiral_noodle

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

True. Which is why Tuccy has retreated I'm still very torn though. On the one hand a great chance for an actually not pants premium (Albany anyone) which is achievable and has sensible mission requirements. I am that child whose been given £8 only to find his brothers all have £10. I shall go cry

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

To be honest I wonder if there are players on the other servers who will be annoyed we can pay for the camos they can only get by getting through a loss of missions. Inequality works both ways. Anyway. Happy at the Graf Spee mission. Thanks WG. Not impressed by the inequality of the subsequent mission/lack of mission fiasco, which has soured the milk rather. Especially since overall it's pretty nice of WG to have such a nice historical ship on offer with missions sensibly based around xp.., So much opportunity and such an own goal!

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

Thats why I said *what I think* is good value. It's very subjective. I have other games. This one I play way more than anything else. It has allowed me to cancel satellite tv My point was more around "I won't cut my nose off to spite my face". However despite being a massive whale I have rules. One is not to buy something other people can get free.
  17. Admiral_noodle

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

And no I don't think this is a reason to rage quit the game nor even refuse to pay WG for things I think are good value. Also remember not to shoot the messenger people But since the permanent camos CAN be earned elsewhere but in EU we can only pay for them I feel it's a poor decision. Imagine an alternate me in NA learning I could buy the camos in EU rather than have to do missions for them. I'd probably be peeved. Therefore in this case will not purchase. I hope Tuccy you can take this feedback to the people who decide these things.

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

Thanks for the clarification Tuccy. It would have been good to have that reasoning in the article. While I am pleased on the one hand that we will be able to - purchase - the camos unlike on the other servers who can only obtain them via missions, I'm also questioning why WGEU couldn't do that AND give people the chance to win them by playing. That to me would have been a more equitable policy to suit everyone (I'd buy them since I have money and less time). Not having a mission to get free silver ships doesn't bother me, however given that other regions are - technically if people have the time - able to get these camos for no expense, I think I'll skip the purchase

What Were Your Worst/Most Embarrassing Game Today?

I did it again today in Leander this time. Reversing to dodge torps. Turned the wrong way into them. What the hell is wrong with me and backwards steering!!!

Time to sell those worthless Signal Flags

Personally I have this problem where I can't stand to see my camo/flag counts get too low. I also keep on if every earned camo. I'm weird. I need to get on and use more flags. I'm keeping one of each camo tho.

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

Well im hoping we will find out in the near future...
  22. Admiral_noodle

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

Well I know this happens if you get a premium twice. In fact it happened to me once when I bought a premium before the test version had been removed from my account for ST. So I accidentally got silver I had to return Therefore I would expect owners of the Graf Spee to get silver. Same as I believe what would happen if you got a SC premium you already have. I think it just happens automatically.
  23. Admiral_noodle

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

Usually a bucket load of silver - that's the usual reward anyway
  24. Admiral_noodle

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

I think emotions are running high because the way it's coming across from WG is just like in my analogy - and our sense of fairness has been violated. I wouldn't get too worked up though. In the end WG have given us a great opportunity to get free stuff. It's just unfortunate the way it's currently been handled so that the announcement of new campaigns, instead of generating some good will and excitement, has led to outrage and arguments
  25. Admiral_noodle

Where are the Christmas convoy missions?

I fully understand it. As I said in the other thread it's like giving 3 of your kids £10 as a treat and giving your 4th £8. Technically everyone is getting a treat. The kid with £8 is getting something nice. But he will still cry.
