Torpedoes will detonate front in as they are detonated by shock. However they might not do as much damage. So I don't agree that torpedoes can glance off except at very oblique angles. Good point about random failure rate, that could be a thing. I've never seen a torpedo fail to explode and it shouldn't be too hard to model. I like it. -

Nice idea! Just got an epic win with 5 ships sunk and 90k damage in Murmansk. 141 hits Surprise surprise on my favourite map, new dawn. I think new dawn used to be green and then has been amended to be more moidy -

after 600+ games in CBT and OBT I wouldn't consider Torps OP. It was hard at first but after a while you develop a sixth sense of predicting where Torps will be before they are even launched. You will get that sense... As you will learn to notice torpedo bombers long before that become a problem... They can certainly feel OP when Torps seem to be coming from everywhere, but as a BB and cruiser player I've learned to deal with them. Your point about "glancing Torps" I'm not sure is valid as Torps detonate either by magnetism or on contact. Any contact. I think Torps already do less damage if they hit the bow a glancing blow, but I could be wrong. More damage for collisions... Hmmm that could end with much rage! At higher tiers on bigger maps it happens somewhat less, but you may have a point about beaching. Too much tactical beaching going on now? -
Battle royals mode, all against all? That would be... Mad.

And this is precisely why I would like something for a draw. Otherwise playing just to avoid the loss feels bad. Great, I've ruined the game for both sides. Woohoo.

Cleveland. Horrible win rate in her (around 30%). No idea why. I keep getting into games where I'm trying to do the right thing for the team and it doesn't seem to work. Oh that and 3 detonations in the last 5 games... Meanwhile the Arkansas keeps getting into wind. I say "getting into" because half the time I'm chasing the game!

Reduce damage from fires for BB's

This. I don't even press 'R' for one fire on a BB now. And sure, fires won't actually sink a BB, but they can put it completely out of action, which can't really be represented in game. -
They don't seem as OP to me as they were a few weeks ago - I think because people are learning how to counter them, and cruisers are actively giving AA support. Before I had games where carriers dominated. Not had one of those in a while, but 2v1 carriers is still challenging.

No but the post above said 20% damage twice in an hour... You can do that with one errant salvo! @ajb - agree with you. I was only querying the entry criteria for a ban.

I dislike the border simply because it looks rubbish. However I seen to find it easy to hit a border slider. Possibly because as soon as I see it, I aim a lead at the map border in the direction the ship is sliding, calculating based on how fast the ship seems to be sliding. Totally unrealistic but seems to work for me. Plus the ship is usually side on so it ends up citadel city... -
That might be a bit harsh. I've seen vids on YT where the game has messed up and caused a TK!

I'm not a fan of draws decided on damage. That would I would suggest encourage even more negative play and I can think of many games where one team has all its ships damaged but clearly ought to be rewarded with the win.

So... I'm at tier 6 and 7 now and I have the overwhelming feeling (this will be unpopular), that actually very little is OP now. Fires seem ok Torps don't seem op to me Carriers are ok if sides are balanced, if not then cruisers need to do AA work, which is fine BBs (well mine) aren't dying to 1-1 HE spam anymore (they do to 2 or 3 cruisers and well they should) DDs are still stealthy but manageable and would be pointless otherwise Most ships seem fine at their tier. I've even found the citadel on Cleveland lately. Upgrades and skills do what they should and are important. The main problem I feel is the players... -
Draws are fine. They aren't that common and they force people to try and actually win. I wish there was a tiny XP boost for *avoiding defeat* though. Not as much as a win but just a little. Like 10% Reason? Because sometimes I feel bad for forcing a draw by not dying or stopping the enemy capping to avoid losing, knowing all I'm really doing if forcing a loss on the enemy.

Hey there. I had issues with Myogi until it became "super Myogi". Still didn't win many and it was useless on the "big race" map. Now I have fully upgraded Kongo and all is right with the world Keep at it though. Super Myogi is a decent ship but is a big cruiser not a proper BB. You don't have armour to go play with US BBs so I found the best bet is to provide cruiser support and squash enemy cruisers. I actually prefer playing cruisers, but stats suggest I'm a better BB player! :o

Possible desynch? Maybe you or the torpedoes weren't where the screen said? Any jerking or lag prior to the event?

Should a BB be using AP or HE against cruisers?

Usually AP. But if it's a poor angle you are better off with HE. Given your reload time in a BB just load AP then *wait* till the cruiser presents his broadside if you can. Too many times i see BBs wasting shots. It's better to wait then blow them away -

Haning the same problems of late especially with Cleveland. I try not to focus on win rate too much now and enjoy the game. Regularly get the honour of best loser ;) But I did have a 9 game winning streak so it's just "bad luck" sometimes. -

Today's achievements: managed to one shot a cruiser with a bb. Defended cap alone against 2 cruisers and a dd on full health and lived with my Cleveland. But the best... Well that would be providing AA cover with Cleveland for our carrier while he sank the enemy two carriers, leading to an unexpected win. (I also sank a dd ) Worst game: getting my first "win" of the day in Arkansas but chasing the game only got two hits. 2x naff all = naff all. -
