Went to Co-Op to test something... you know what? It's fun there!
Admiral_noodle replied to Siagor's topic in General Discussion
I'm going in PvP if I get 3 losses in a row. It's kinda fun - but very very easy! -
I'm seeing fewer tirpitzes now. Maybe three per game at tier 8 and one of them is me. She's a joy to play though and I'm averaging 1900 XP in her
-
Well in my hands with my Tirpitz she's performing very much like a tier 8 BB should. And today I sank an Iowa (thanks to citadels) and a Tirpitz (thanks to just regular damage) before being sunk by the combined fire of two cruisers and that Iowa. In the second game all was going well until I was the last ship left. Had to run from the North Carolina because it halved my hp in 2-3 salvoes. We lost that on points but I succeeded in fleeing. Overall the Tirpitz isn't p2w, but it is very forgiving. However just keep hitting it and your normal shots will usually do 3k damage of more. Not sure what was going on with that example above though. Any replay?

I had lag problems yesterday. Ping would be at 35ms then shoot up to 1000. Even got kicked off a couple of times. Then it cleared up. My internet was fine the whole time, but it doesn't mean it's WGs fault. Depends on network between you and the server.

It would be nice to have multiple sinking animations. I think that's planned. Explosions capsizing... Would be cool.

Well we have PvP, ranked is coming. Why not try "historical" PvE as a mode. Smaller teams all from the same navy pitched against one enemy nation. You could even face new ships not available to the players. But that's a lot of work and most people want to fight each other. Maybe a PvP historical mode... -

I think I might try PvE just for practicing. And when I get frustrated! -
Yeah. I don't really understand the point of this average XP stat. It is useless. I'll have to look at damage and kill/death *per ship* to make any sense of anything.

Is MM going to mess with good players AGAIN?!?
Admiral_noodle replied to FaceFisted's topic in General Discussion
You've hit the nail on the head here. No one will be able to show you a system where MM puts you with "bad players" to get you to 50%, because at the same time the system is supposed to be pulling them up by getting wins... But we can keep pointlessly arguing. But the rude stat obsessed conspiracy theorists can't be reasoned with. -
Yeah I just noticed this. Hotspot with horizontal spawn is still tough mind.

That's brilliant

Least worrying change ever though. The stats page lol

Well done WG, youve made CVs totally unplayable
Admiral_noodle replied to simonmd's topic in General Discussion
Because unlike you people don't try to adapt to changes... Well done btw - more posts like this "how to adapt" to 4.1 required -
LOL Nearly every thread now is a complaint of some sort.
Admiral_noodle replied to _x_Acheron_x_'s topic in General Discussion
I could have predicted the CV backlash And the dd complaints. A few more "so how to play in the new patch" would be useful rather than complaints and "change it back" -
New Domination System - Point Values
Admiral_noodle replied to Elendor's topic in General Discussion
I had not noticed this but I will now I think the wildly fluctuating scores will be a temporary thing as people adjust to the new points system. On the plus side: - no more relying on BBs to realise they are a liability if the honour and get sunk. - no more hiding with BBs when there are only cruisers left - cap or kill for the points is fairer to ca players who aren't optimised for BB killing. We shall see. -
High tier premium unit policy. Yay or nay?
Admiral_noodle replied to Figment's topic in General Discussion
I don't think there is a massive problem. However there is the possibility that being rubbish in a tier 8 premium would put people off the game. When I got Yubari in CBT my friend warned me to play up to tier IV before having a go in my premium. I'm glad I generally listened. I was awful in my first Yubari game. Class of ship makes a difference. A high tier CV or DD would be a disaster for a noob. BBs and Cruisers are less likely to be a total write off. Tirpitz is very forgiving of poor play, although it's torpedoes are a noob liability. I've already had a game in Pensacola where I was "training" a friendly Tirpitz. From experience I've not seen much high tier premium failing, but I only have one tier 7 ship. (Oh and Tirpitz) -
Second thing happened to me in PT on Strait. I had an Omaha "dropped" into the sea!

High tier premium unit policy. Yay or nay?
Admiral_noodle replied to Figment's topic in General Discussion
Figment - I voted "of any tier up to tier 8" for everyone. Simply because "noob"' is transient. Sure there are a lot of potato tirpitzes out there right now but it will pass. Sensible people won't play tier 8 till they are half decent at the game. But if you are good at tier 5, tier 8 is not a massive leap. Tier 3-5 is the leap in capability... I would actually argue a total noob at tier V is more damaging than tier 8, because the rest of the players will be less able to compensate. I was terrible in yubari as a noob but wasn't awful when I bought Atlanta 100 games later. I bought tirpitz. Now I don't need to grind to Iowa on us BBs. I have tier 7 max in normal ships, but I've played up to 9 in CBT. -
Tirpitz = lote of noobs have a big battelship and they have torps.. OMG
Admiral_noodle replied to TomTheBonehead's topic in General Discussion
Maybe not sneaky, but clever indeed. A sensible n00b would use the premium time grinding lower tier ships and leaving tirpitz alone... -
The Potato ship can do some work
Admiral_noodle replied to viceadmiral123's topic in General Discussion
I think if you're missing, you're too far away. I think Colorado needs to be a *close* support ship. In the pack, at medium range. -
Would changing the Destroyers torpedo damage and rate of fire help?
Admiral_noodle replied to GunnyL's topic in General Discussion
I hate invisible ships though. It just feels silly. I wouldn't object to longer and better smoke though. We know a DD is there *somewhere* So I wouldn't decrease spotting or change Torps. Give DDs more smoke sure. -
Here is my description of the present day games..
Admiral_noodle replied to anonym_T3XTXn9riZRR's topic in General Discussion
Incidentally the new maps are interesting and not at all like fault line and ocean. They encourage furious action in the middle, which is fun. -
I think flags should be rewards for in game achievements only. I wouldn't buy them (and I buy everything else!) If WG want to "sell" the same effects as the flags, that's fine. The effects are small enough to not be game breaking. But it should be via another mechanism. Like premium consumables. I like the idea of displaying achievements via flags like badges of honour.

Your personal statistical oddities.
Admiral_noodle replied to canuckster's topic in General Discussion
I try to play cruisers but my stats say I should battleship more. Except Myogi, which is a win rate oddity. -
Ten games 2 wins is hardly unlikely or far from random... When you get no wins in twenty you can start to complain.
