T9 Essex oneshotting a T10 Montana in one attack run.
Admiral_noodle replied to Pupu_prpr's topic in General Discussion
The problem is not the balance or that CVs are OP. This attack run took ages for the CV player to setup and I still think the BB could have potentially slowed down as well as turned. And he could have seen the planes coming and tried to get in with other ships. I do, and usually planes aren't too much of an issue. The problem is it can make a game utter crap for a player of the CV is set on destroying him. Frankly it's boring. And in a BB you can't shoot back and you can't hide. It's "right" but annoying as hell. I wish more players in carriers would just hit you once, spread their damage to help the team and not victimise people. I have played CVs in CBT. Didn't appeal. -
Why WG can't run Co-op games with more than 8 players?
Admiral_noodle replied to tacomaco's topic in General Discussion
If the ai got better it might teach people what a team can do... Inepild also like scenarios/missions in coop. Maybe after ranked battles have bedded in. As for player drop, most people get a new game and play it to death then play other things. My poor cities skylines cities are sadly neglected! -
Is the 93% coop battles? Yes it is I've just looked In game change coop (blue) to random (red) in profile view. You can also select your coop score on the website by clicking on blue PvE

90% winrate today! Spread your good streaks.
Admiral_noodle replied to Dominico's topic in General Discussion
I feel that way. It's irrational. I've had 5 defeats in 30 games now. I need to stop counting. My win rate has gone from 43% to 50% in the last 75 games or so. I don't want to lose 25 in 30 so I hope I'm doing something *better*. Although I still can't cruiser very well. I seem to be a battleship player... -
Can you point me to a player with great stats
Admiral_noodle replied to Kokos78's topic in General Discussion
Well I'm playing battleships because they are more fun, win more, do more damage and have more influence on the game. Look at my BB stats vs. my cruiser stats. I am struggling in cruisers even doing the "right thing". I don't think BBs will get nerfed nor should they, but cruisers need... Something at tier > 6. Or more likely I need to L2P with them BBs probably aren't easy to play well, as you need to think and plan. So rather than looking at great stats why not look up some good play videos? -
Why WG can't run Co-op games with more than 8 players?
Admiral_noodle replied to tacomaco's topic in General Discussion
Thing is coop is fun, but tragically easy. It doesn't equate to PvP in any way. Still good for a practice and a chill out, but it's not really where the game is. Bots are good shots, but are ridiculously predictable. -
Why are usually the worst performing players the ones calling noobs the rest?
Admiral_noodle replied to valrond's topic in General Discussion
Because Dunning–Kruger effect. Basically these people have little concept of how bad they are. After a loss I think hard how I could have done more. I go look at how Aerroon plays for example. I read posts by Figment and others who have much better stats. And in the next game I try to think hard about whether what I am doing is useful to the team. And you know what, all my stats have improved. I wish I could look at just my last 50-100 games. And I've never ever called someone a noob. -
Stop making battleships out of matches
Admiral_noodle replied to Kreshow's topic in General Discussion
This again! So battleships: repair upgrade 1, 2 (if you feel rich) Captain skills basics of survivability, fire prevention, high alert. Super intendant Ignore 1 fire. Let it burn. Then repair. Fires no longer stressful. -

Exchange rate dubloons to free xp?
Admiral_noodle replied to Boevebeest's topic in General Discussion
True it would be nice to spend the XP on training if you're not going to convert it. Or at least some kind of fancy flag. Perhaps high XP ships should get their rust removed -
Exchange rate dubloons to free xp?
Admiral_noodle replied to Boevebeest's topic in General Discussion
Oh whinge whinge So that XP is unusable. So what? Play more games get more credits and XP. It's not p2w it's pay to rush. Complaining about XP you can't use for free is sour grapes I don't care I spend real money to convert XP. If I stay in and play wows in saving money on a night out anyway /sad -

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

4 kills (Cleveland, a dd, Furutaka and a South Carolina), 80,000 damage and rescuing a domination game in Wyoming. I love that ship! -
Trouble with PvE is that it's so damn easy. It's a laff for a bit blowing things away in Wyoming but if I want an actual challenge PvP is where it's at. Challenged by my own team too sometimes Now I need to not worry about my win rate dropping if I lose. Which I must do soon!
-
If the game didn't have time to register the damage and calculate the death of the ship then no. No kill sorry, you were to slow! Simple as that. You have to actually see the kill awarded in game for it to count.

Why do I have to use my BB to go Destroyer hunting? Help pls!
Admiral_noodle replied to GulvkluderGuld's topic in General Discussion
Well in my example I was defending our own cap because everyone had wandered off with a bb, a cruiser and a dd heading for me on two brothers. I successfully "kited" the first two but the dd was clever. Managed to kill them all one by one except the bb who ran away from me. Our team then capped so we won. Maybe I was also "camping"? -
Either play the game or don't play it at all
Admiral_noodle replied to Humbug_1's topic in General Discussion
No you're not Also I want to make it clear that being stat obsessed is bad. Just like OP says in fact. It makes you do the wrong thing in games. Stats build up over time and one game isn't important. What is important is doing the right thing as well as you can - but also laughing at your own derp moments. Over time this kind of play will lead to better stats. Ignoring stats at a when they clearly show where you can improve, or suggest you could do things better is also a bit odd. Why wouldn't you look at them and think hey, I could be doing more, grinding faster and having more fun? "I just play for fun" can mean two things. Sometimes it indicates a pretty good player doing the above. Since playing well leads to better stats over time of course they understand that stats alone aren't important. They are the indicators. The other kind are those who are bad, it shows in the stats and they defend themselves by claiming they aren't "really trying". That's worse than being a bad player imo! -

Admiral_noodle replied to Humbug_1's topic in General Discussion
Thats fine. They may not be crap at all. In which case they are playing below their potential. Also fine. However if you have below average stats it does mean you are on average a disadvantage and a drain on your team. That's fine for Figment, he'll hust be awesome and carry the game but for us mere mortals who have enough to do trying to play as well as we can, it can be disappointing when you lose and know that one or two players on your team really didn't help. I wish more people would consider wows a team game first. It's awesome when the *team* plays well and you help each other out. Play like that and then damn the stats - they'll come anyway! -

Admiral_noodle replied to Humbug_1's topic in General Discussion
I get that I really do but... If you go off and die without "paying for yourself" at least you're putting your team at a disadvantage from the off. I'm desperately trying not to sound critical Here and I'm sorry if I fail! Your stats *do suggest* you're a bit of an easy kill at the moment and don't give as much as you take. I used to rush in in order to get stuck in but after reading these forums I've found its actually more fun when I give more than I take and contribute to the team success. Each to their own though - I'd definitely come help you out if you were on my team -

Admiral_noodle replied to GulvkluderGuld's topic in General Discussion
Yea I do this in my light cruisers. Just not well but it's my job! Heavy cruisers are less good at it and I have a vendetta against minekazes now too Oh and OP I know how you feel. The number of times I've had to "rescue" a cruiser from a dd in my Kongo isn't funny. -
Either play the game or don't play it at all
Admiral_noodle replied to Humbug_1's topic in General Discussion
I've managed to "tune" from 43% to 50% WR and improved k/d from 1.5 to 1.7 - not "easy" but I know I was a key contributor to wins in about a quarter of them. This took a month by the way... Now if only I could work out why I'm so much better in BBs than cruisers. You know I think BBs may be OP but most BB drivers are just *bad* -

Dice rolling: you get to roll dice to match a given number between 1 and 12. You randomly choose to roll 1 or 2 dice. Well now you get to choose whether to roll one or two dice. I bet your stats improve... -

Dont worry some of us listen to you - and so far it's working.... I do wonder if you get drawn into these arguments when you should be retreating. I learnt to do that in wows from you... -
I'm worried now I've only lost one battle in 16... I fear the losing streak!
