Apparently can repair critical damage? I was rubbish with here in CBT but I know how to play BBs now. I'd love to play her again. Not for that price though - unless I can think of a valid use for the doubloons. I could convert XP or credits but at that price I could also have a nice expensive meal out...

Capitalism and nationalism aside - this is a game. Being better at it and succeeding *necessarily* requires this to be at the expense of those you destroy and sink. PvP you are measured on how much hurt you cause to other people! It's a competitive game. But one where no one gets hurt. However, play PvE and that particular issue goes away Anyway you've played hundreds of games and sunk 159 *players* in those games. So that came at the expense of others

Really? I guess you think sports and games are wrong then? Being better = you get more out of the game. That's what I meant. The main reasons are: - better skills = more impact on game, more XP, more fun fights, more sunk ships, faster progression - better skills = not feeling like I am a liability to my team so helping the team to more wins

In carriers and dds yes. In battleships not named Colorado yes too. I've worked out how. (Colorado struggles with speed and range which multiply). Cruisers? Especially Pensacola and New Orleans I just don't see how. Good dpm but fragile so very hard to put it into practice. Cruisers are the last class I need to master the concept of. I get BBs and can play them. Dds and cvs I understand but don't enjoy carrier play - and don't have the speed of reaction needed for dds. Edit: by worked out I mean researched and asked

Obviously premium consumables and converting it to credits or converting XP But more ships need to appear in game soon. I'm sure they will so hold on to them. However quitting a free game because the offers aren't as good as on other servers (previous poster) is in fact cutting ones nose off to spite ones face. I don't get that at all. See the game as F2P. Anything comes up for real money evaluate it on its merits and decide for yourself if you feel it's worth it.

New Aim Mod (No, realy, this one is new)

My goodness the conspiracy theories! I'm not denying people are using aim assists (it's not a bot stop saying bot!!). I'm saying most people aren't. Most people are like me and don't even use mods because that involves faffing about with game files. Most people don't read the forums either. The percentage of players using cheats is low and the impact of these cheats is limited. It's still totally wrong and needs squashing fast. Shuldizar your default position baffles me but never mind.

Winning the game is luck biased. Well it's team mate biased. However I would say 60% team/luck 40% individual input. Therefore you can individually force a win (carry) in something like 20% of games. This will result in win rate spreads eventually 40-60%. So good players will eventually win more. Damage is 90% individual skill and 10% luck overall. So good damage stats indicate good skills. Not dying too soon is also a skill!

Sinking ships and doing damage is fun. Outplaying people is fun. Catching people out is fun. Being better means more fun. However there is a difference between playing deadly seriously and occasionally doing things "for fun" rather than sticking classically to the most optimal strategy. Case in point two battleships in a division going them rough the gap on two brothers. Tried it twice and it worked once. Took them by surprise and we won hands down. The other time... Less good. But it annoys me when people say "I play for fun" and all they do is die and are a liability to the team.

Well maybe. Stats will show whether rewarding loyalty is useful (to WG). More smaller in game purchases would be sensible (they will come) but a free ship for playing X games - or X games in a certain period even - would hook players into the server... Not sure WG *need* that at the moment. So I need to think of a way to entice WG to offer smaller cheaper things... Ie a business case.

PC Gamer: WoWs is 'expensive and exploitative'

Not really false impression. They are demonstrating what you get with premium. Of course that will hook people and make WG money. However unlike you I'm not going to hold it against WG. This is capitalism. This is how it works. If people are "sucked in" it's hardly against their will. Also tier VI isn't high tier. The newbies will make plenty of XP and creds without premium if they want. What WG are doing isn't "immoral" and isn't preying on vulnerable people. It's preying on people who should know better (if they have a credit card and bank account!)

While the game is new and these bundles are bought by new players as an intro offer yes. In six months, doubt it.

PC Gamer: WoWs is 'expensive and exploitative'

As said in another thread this really is an intro offer for new people to get them into the game. The price just screams a game purchase. Clever way to make people "buy" a free game. Can't wait for the Xmas bundles to be given as presents. Not paying that much for an ok ship. I have a tier 6 BB already. Obviously this is annoying and frustrating for CBT veterans.

    warspite back on sale

When I bought Tirpitz I made use of the "extras". Now I've bought in for a years premium (risky but from what I've seen I will want to be grinding many things) I'm not interested in doubloons and premiums. Warspite is nice but not *that good* I do hope some in game ships appear at some point. I'm sure they will. But I reiterate this is one of a set of untro offers to new people. Priced at £40 to make it look like they are buying a game basically. I think this will happen continually until about Xmas. You know what I'd like? A free premium for playing your first 1000 games. That would be a good idea.

Hmm. Too much. But to be expected. These are offers designed to get new players in. So they aren't really aimed at "us". I'll wait.

I would bet my house that this will happen say, 6 months after the original bundle offer. Then all the bundle players will complain, obviously.

    Lots of events for October!

I hope so too. Otherwise it's just pointless.

    Lots of events for October!

I didn't expect much so am not disappointed - but yeah, to call these events is laughable. WG you can do better.

PC Gamer: WoWs is 'expensive and exploitative'

some people like playing and aren't bothered by the time it takes to get to tier X. And when you get their you ought to be good. Even if you're not by keeping a money maker ship you can fail your way to the top if necessary. And yes your top tier ships don't make you money. Why shouldn't the game make you play lower tiers? I mean I do anyway. I've just sold Pensacola to buy New Orleans, and I'll sell Colorado when I get to North Carolina, but I would never part with Kongo or Fuso, and Nagato will be my tier 7 BB. it takes a long time but it makes you get good in your ship in the meantime. I pay and also buy premium ships because I can. Its spending money on something I enjoy - and I'm happy to. But the fact you still get a full game for nothing if you want is in my view just brilliant (yeah I'm not crediting WG for that invention but it's a great thing really - free game!).
  20. Admiral_noodle

    Lots of events for October!

I'm sure this is the worst excuse for "events" ever but it's better than nothing at all. I'm not sure it will drive people away *more* than no events but if it did... That would be odd.

    Broken game

If you get headshot in another game I know of you die so... Not sure your point? Cruiser is not battleship. All ships have roles and ways to play them. There are ways of.... Oh what's the point.

    Lots of events for October!

Hahahaha! Events lol! I do hope that's a placeholder because while x2 is welcome we could also have: Flags for your first win Special missions X1.5 credits for first win Prizes per day for highest base XP score per server per ship like oh, 500 doubloons... Even I can be more original Why not just call it October x2

You probably remember "saving up" for things rather than getting credit too. Ah those were the days I have premium though so I can talk But sure I'll probably spend lots in this game. But I can. And that allows others to play for free. It's an amazing age we live in
