Can't wait to test! No more XP flags for confederate is sad. I'd just got good at farming those. Now we have to kill 5 ships. I hardly every do that Seriously. We all need to test and test not just what's new but check the old stuff works!

BBs in ranked battles below rank 10
Admiral_noodle replied to KapteinSabeltann's topic in General Discussion
Why I will play ranked - I like the ships at tiers V-VIII - I like the smaller faster games where everything matters - you get to have a real impact on win or lose - stats will be wiped after the season so I won't have to remember how bad I was - seems to get more XP - something different Of course there will be awfully frustrating games! I'm focussing on BBs in ranked because I seem to do better than in cruisers.- 8 replies

Extremely famous ship. High demand. Of course it would be in a bundle. And i would have to think hard about whether to get it.

Warspite on sale - but in a bundle
Admiral_noodle replied to OldGrandad's topic in General Discussion
They won't have any "power" over the sales team. I'm sure they feedback opinions from the forum. And I'm sure said say "but money. Go away". Simplistically.- 450 replies

Just became a credits billionaire
Admiral_noodle replied to Aldramelech's topic in General Discussion
You could buy back the lower tier ships when you get tier X in everything then have all of the ships. All of them! I'm quite poor. Only have 2 mill. I think I'll try your method. After all I'm not in a great rush to get the high tier ships. Maybe Iowa. Maybe. -
Warspite on sale - but in a bundle
Admiral_noodle replied to OldGrandad's topic in General Discussion
@up. I tend to agree. However there is no reason why WG can't use more than one pricing model at a time. In fact they are. Murmansk, Atlanta and others, and now ishizuchi are *not* bundled. This shows WG pricing model is actually two fold The ishizuchi demonstrates that - at least once - they do intend to add more unbundled in game content. Over time - because of over saturation - I would expect to see the same number of bundles but ever increasing in game content And I would hope so otherwise I'd question the sanity of the WG sales team. I don't see the point in being angry about it. I *do* agree that WG should remain informed that there is a market for in game premium content which they are *not* tapping into right now. And the feedback should be consistently "more in game unbundled premium content" is desirable. Rather than just "bundles are rubbish". It's a fine line - we aren't massively disagreeing at all. I would however never criticise someone else's spending decisions or take it out on them (like tk-ing imperators)- 450 replies

Warspite on sale - but in a bundle
Admiral_noodle replied to OldGrandad's topic in General Discussion
I would say the strategy is alienating more forum posters than it is casual players - who are the vast majority. Of my friends who play all are casual (I'm kinda the obsessed one). Not one has complained about the bundles. A couple have bought one or two and the rest have either ignored or been oblivious to them. None are rage quitting because of things they don't want. A few might buy a prem if it was unbundled or cheap, but generally those not buying the bundles aren't buying anyway. So in terms of alienating and lost revenue I would expect it's vastly outweighed by the increased revenue of bundling - sadly for those annoyed by it. Most people don't actually care - which if you like is the "problem"- 450 replies

Quickly looking at graphs NA seems down more than EU but Russia is going up. Is fallout not popular in Russia? My theory - based on friends - is a lot o people are playing fallout as its new and shiny. Obviously player numbers are a very complicated thing and as people have said a lot of players not playing now do intend to come back to the game. One of the things about wows is you can come back to it at any time. I'm sure WG look at the player trends. I would predict a big spike if they introduce team mode after ranked 2 is over. A lot of people would like that + an advertising campaign Anyway I can still get games so I'm happy

Warspite on sale - but in a bundle
Admiral_noodle replied to OldGrandad's topic in General Discussion
What I don't understand: - why there are multiple threads about this all the time - why people confuse the fact that the game is free to play with premium content. You don't have to buy it - why people are surprised by the sales strategy (which clearly works - at least at the moment - look at tirpitz) - why people are outraged by a company doing what it does. Make money - why people think it's some kind of extortion - why people expect more from a multinational corporation You know the only thing which would actually change anything is European legislation on virtual sales. Which is unlikely given the product is certainly not something anyone actually needs. It works like this: WG offer extra content at a certain price point. People decide if they are willing to pay. If it doesn't make them enough money the strategy changes. Don't like the offer? Don't buy it. So I'm part of the problem because I am willing to spend more on the game than others. I buy bundles because usually thy have doubloons - which I keep using. I do this because I have more money than time. I don't have time to grind everything but I do have money to convert XP etc. This is because I spend my time making the money On the other hand I'm also supporting the development of the game. In this case I already gave Warspite so it's irrelevant. I also have a "milking limit" beyond which I won't spend, so continual bundle offering to a stable player base over time yields negative results. Economics governs WG sales policy not people's wishes. I don't see the point in being angry at anyone or at WG for something you aren't obliged to pay for. I don't "like" the "only" bundles concept but unless it stops working why would WG change?- 450 replies

Warspite on sale - but in a bundle
Admiral_noodle replied to OldGrandad's topic in General Discussion
Disagree. It's a case of "make more money now and make money later". Not "or". It says nothing about game longevity. It's simply a case of keep selling bundles while they make WG the most money. Why wouldn't WG look to maximise revenue? regarding not believing in future of game - once WG take 1 year premium offer away then I might believe you. You're simply reading too much into the bundle strategy. Its basically profiteering. Because they can and it works. You can say disgraceful as much as you like but companies are there to make money. If I was a shareholder in a company which did popular things at the expense of profit if not be amused. We do need more in game content though. I'm hopeful more will be added over time.- 450 replies

- carriers. Remember that when in map view you're actually the only one playing. Disregard chat and pleas from the "team" to spot with your planes, even if they aren't doing anything useful. Remember your job is to sink enemies by picking the target that looks the juiciest to you personally. - carriers. Fly directly to your target and back. Don't worry about the enemy following your planes to your ship. Also don't worry about the AA rating of ships you are overflying. That is irrelevant.

Yeah. So actually they might be doing you a favour by distracting the enemy into decapping the wrong ship and not searching for the one with all the cap points...

Warspite on sale - but in a bundle
Admiral_noodle replied to OldGrandad's topic in General Discussion
1-Warspite is an overpopular RN ship. We don't want world if warspites 2-because of the above Warspite bundle is always likely. In fact I doubt Warspite and tirpitz will ever be sold unbundled 3-it's not about feedback on what we want but how WG maximise profits. I'm pretty sure iPhones don't cost anything like what they cost to produce including development costs Of course I don't like it but unless everyone boycotts bundles then it won't change. I don't believe that's even slightly feasible. And because a lot of people think that way it's a self fulfilling prophecy - and the bundles will continue. If you want to blame anything blame capitalism. It's a fact of life. Get used to it or start a revolution (and please don't because my employer rather relies on capitalism) What I would like is more of what we have seen with ishizuchi. At least we have one more premium in the tech tree. Not a "famous" one admittedly. Maybe we can get a few more of those. But Warspite and tirpitz in the tech tree? I'll be very, very shocked if I ever see that.- 450 replies

But... If you don't get shot you have the cap points and will cap it unless the reds go into the cap circle. So I'm a little confused. They aren't giving *you* away...

New Event - Arpeggio of Blue Steel -ARS NOVA- invading World of Warships!
Admiral_noodle replied to Kurbain's topic in General Discussion
I'd still watch them, after all I'll have this turned off in my game settings - so it will make a nice change to see it -
To be honest I think that - it's indeed a placeholder to gather stats - WG don't really know what to do with tk-ers I saw a certain well known tk-er today. Briefly, before he got sunk by his own side - such was his infamy. I mean 300 games in a Myoko and average 0 kills, but 5 kills max. Hmmm.

And you know that's key "no matter what the outcome". St. Louis is a hoot even in defeats (except if you get ocean). You always get to hit and burn something. I've never had a St. Louis game where I basically did nothing then died. And at tier 3 who cares if the ship sinks. It's not like it will cost.
-
Yes they do get better. For you right from upgraded Kongo. Beware though, stock Fuso is awful. Upgraded she's also great. Reasons to play BBs. - multiple citadels ruining cruisers day - high caliber and confederate farmers (if you're doing it right) - getting set on fire and thinking "pfft don't care" - dodging torpedoes like a boss - duelling with other BBs who don't know how to angle - smashing dds with he and secondaries as they try to chase you Basically *devastating strike* is why we play BBs.
-
My comfort ships: Murmansk: because it's easy, I can get credits while venting my frustration on long range BBs or pesky dds. Especially minekazes which are my nemesis. Kongo: because somehow she never lets me down and is a joy. Makes low tier cruisers go bye bye Tirpitz: because it's an easy button St. Louis: my top comfort ship. Go pew pew pew against some low tier enemies for proper seal clubbing. Until I find an enemy doing the same in his - and the Arkansas is fun. Who cares there's no AA!
-
Yeah. I'd rather have to wait for quality than have a load of crud.

Insulting people at any time isn't clever or a good thing. Why use that tone? If someone plays badly in your opinion it might be helpful to give out some free advice, in a positive way. Being insulting in chat just shows that: - you are taking the game to seriously - you've lost emotional control In addition it makes insulting people more "normal" allowing others to do it aswell. It's toxic and you should never rise to it. However some people have poor emotional intelligence and you'll always get abusers in chat. You have to deal with it. Just don't add to it.
-
Because everyone must play wows all the time! You're right it's new content that brings people back. It may seem like ages but in reality it's not all that long since the Germans came out. Then there was the new maps etc. New trees will help but as has been said ---> team mode! Expedite that please WG. It will be very popular and profitable I think
