[edited] Arpeggio //// what are your thoughts?
Admiral_noodle replied to Maston_1's topic in General Discussion
Ah I see. I was going to rage but then your username... I think we've gone off topic. No the gay reference wasn't logical (now if it had been a rainbow ship...) but it wasn't the most insulting thing I've ever seen. Oh and gay = femininity is just digging an even bigger hole So Aldramelech stop biting -
I think high tier cruisers are hard, and we need more tutorials. Some good ca players are doing very well. If they can, we can, but the ca role has changed at high tiers and they need careful thought to play.

Yea. For me Kongo is purple But then everyone goes on about the "green team". They are all blue for me... -
Re: one shotting cruisers. I'm doing it - 1 in 5 BB games lately - as my sudden rush of devastating strikes attests. Even if you don't nuke them in one salvo, you can do so much damage. Knowing how to citadel each cruiser is important. You don't citadel Koenigsberg the same way you citadel clevelands. Like Nurnberg. I don't shoot at perfectly side on nurnbergs at medium range. Wait till they slightly turn and boom! Furataka needs to be side on, then it's multiple citadels. Now at high tiers I've not learned each cruiser yet. The only one I know is NO - which I have. I hardly play her because... What's the point

I want to do the mission for the sense of achievement. And to get a premium Kongo. The only thing I don't like is the "kill ships" parts of the missions. But there is time to get it done

I want to know why op is disturbed by pink - they are pink to stand out from the other ships. I kinda like the way it's been implemented so you can have it off or on. But why the hate for pink? pink = gay is lazy and out of date. Pink is associated with breast cancer research over here so that would be more appropriate. Actually that gives me an idea. Charity cammo! -
Higher tiers are just unforgiving. One mistake and it's very costly. Nuking cruisers can happen at all tiers though. Today I've nuked an atago, a Myoko and a Karlsruhe.

Um. In short no. Since learning to play the NC she's great. Similarly today I worked out how Warspite works and similarly had a great game. Tirpitz is kind of easy and reliable anyway. New Mexico is just a beast and I got 104k, high caliber and carried the team in a ranked today. The only "struggle bus" for me is Nagato, but I'm still learning.

Nagato certainly has days like that. Always bracketing the target and never any citadels. Sometimes the game gods just like to troll you. Then of course you start looking for the bad rolls and get confirmation bias...

I love strait. Nice focussed early battles and interesting strategies in domination over the all important caps. Fault line I hate and always have. It's hide and seek foubd islands and often dull for a bb. Can't work out how to play that map.

Well I use chat, point out bad play and haven't got banned. Maybe it's because I'm polite and constructive rather than aggressive and whiny. "Hi. Did you know that MM counts your ships in your division as the highest rank? That makes it really tough for you in games! Just suggesting when divisioning you take all the same tier. Good luck though!" Hmm
-
Another biased poll. Guess what I did But seriously divisions in ranked. No. We have randoms already. Team mode? Yes please.
-
You sailed into his torps. *from his point of view* Hence he will be biased when you point out his mistake. Even if he knows he is wrong very few people react positively to being called a team killer.
-
Lol. I can't work out quite why from her port numbers, but I got dragged into a tier 6 game and led the charge. Sank plenty of clevelands and made fusos run away
-
People don't compliment very much I don't think. Is it an EU thing? I'd love to see the stats on compliments vs. Reports by server. I'm willing to bet the eu server has the worst compliment to report ratio Miserable Europeans

F****** Fuso is WAAAAYYYY to powerful!
Admiral_noodle replied to Mighty_Mongoose's topic in General Discussion
Well I'm better in new mex than Fuso. Fuso is too easily citadelled and if you can aim new mex is I find better at nuking cruisers and fighting BBs. I'll happily take on Fuso in new mex. most Fuso players can't resist bringing their guns to bear, which is usually a bad plan. BBs will nuke cruisers of the cruiser misplays. They might nuke them even if they don't miss play. Sure going side in within 10km is suicide, but angling and weaving at range isn't guaranteed either. Recommend getting the "incoming" skill for cruisers and watching salvoes come in to actually dodge them. Also don't get into a position where two or more ships target you it you can avoid it. Also consider reversing not turning away. Many times I'll shoot one gun at a cruiser which will then start to turn. Predictably. That's when I fire the rest of my turrets... -
Tip: don't whine in chat - even when you're right. The player who torped you will likely get defensive and report you. You sailed into his torps. Granted he shouldn't have fired them with you there but it could be argued you might have expected it. He was primarily at fault but give people some credit and be optimistic. He probably just made a mistake. Accusing him of team killing deliberately in that scenario will only make him react... Best thing is not to complain in chat. Ever. I get annoyed too but if I see someone complaining in chat I'll likely report them.
-
It's not just you. I've been accused of cheating - most recently one shotting a Karlsruhe with imperator Nikolai at long range. Then again I suppose the imperator might be considered cheating

Ranked needs to be overhauled somehow.
Admiral_noodle replied to Reaper171's topic in General Discussion
I get it, but ranked battles is a game mode everyone should be able to play. Having qualifying conditions and only allowing "good" players to play and try it is elitist and more of an "eSport" than what ranked is now. You want a tournament kind of thing based on some kind of criteria. As wows is team based the only viable way to get that is via clan wars - which would be good. Not or appropriate for "ranked" though, which isn't really a tournament mode. -

Admiral_noodle replied to Reaper171's topic in General Discussion
Rubbish. I don't have a normal tier 8 with 50 games on it. Mostly because of my wide array of ships and "only" 700 games played. I'm not terrible in any of my ships though so to be banned in this basis would just suck. Mind you I've not got time to get the games in to get to rank 25 just now... -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Admiral_noodle replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
- the last forum poster I met was Drigtol while in my Kongo. There was much complaining while I was trying to win. Which we did, so it turned out OK -
How can you look yourself in the mirror....
Admiral_noodle replied to MATREKUS's topic in General Discussion
Yes it's a cheat yes it's wrong yes I want it gone. It wouldn't help me aim any better. I've already got experience of ships/angles/smoke stacks etc most of the time my first shot is pretty good. In fact that aim line is so distracting it's harder to see if the enemy is about to start turning. But yes. It's wrong. And makes it far too easy for bad players to get results. -

Admiral_noodle replied to MATREKUS's topic in General Discussion
Sorry but... "but if you take an zig zaging Kiev heading 46 kts in a feking battleship in one or two salvos." Aaaaaaaaaaargh!! How. Many. Times. Aim assist can't predict the future. So if you zig zag following aim assist line will guarantee you a miss. To hit a zigzagging ship you have to be good, experienced and be able to predict where someone is going to go. Aim assist will only really help people who don't know how to lead ships, especially if you're not travelling at full speed. But if you change speed and direction often it will help you avoid good, bad and aimbot users alike. i wish WG could ban the cheat mods too. But it's hard to do without getting rid of all mods, which would be a shame. -
With an Omaha I would stay with BBs and not rush forward at all. If I'm playing in new mex or Fuso and I see an Omaha I start getting warm feelings inside. They are so squishy and easy to citadel. My advice would be... Take a Cleveland.

The damage counter mod only records damage displayed at the time. So if you can't see it because the ship becomes undetected it won't count. You do get the damage though in the end screen. The damage counter will always under read as its "damage known at the time"
