It is. However lose and loose are on my "brain fart" list. Like necessary, immediately and other words I always have issues with (and usually avoid - the way to achieve an A in English is to have a gigantic vocabulary and avoid words you can't spell reliably). English might be the preferred language in chat - because most Europeans learn English as it is so widespread. However so long as people aren't spanning chat I don't mind other languages. The quick commands do help in this respect. Not it sure what OP was on about now.

i can't work out if this is serious or not. It's staggeringly arrogant in tone if it is. If not then... Good troll thread. But on the point of children playing - it's not like WG have any control over who is actually connecting to the server. They trust that parents exert control over their own children. 13 is a guide for parents, not a legal statute. Also I'm British, have double A GCSE in English and a Masters degree in physics. I still confuse "loose" and "lose" on occasions when typing.

While in a board of directors meeting a strange thing ...
Admiral_noodle replied to Drigtol's topic in General Discussion
The interim mission rewards are good too. I have 11 million credits -
RNG isn't rigged. Can we stick to relevant points? The overpen problem. At mid tiers I can really make cruisers pay for mistakes... And sometimes not even mistakes. However close up I've found ships like Roon a real handful. I also know why. They aren't showing me broadside or being an easy shot at high tiers. Cruiser players seem to have learned. 1v1 I will still win a fight. However they rarely work alone. I actually think it is good this way.

The only constant is your own skill and ability to carry. Unicums will lose games too but they will get to rank 1 faster than the rest of us. The problem is win/loss/win/loss is frustrating and most people won't persevere. Yes it's luck - but luck + skill = number of games required to reach rank 1. For me that number is too high, so until I have like a week off to solely do ranked I won't really try.
-
People will shoot at the easiest target. If you're being focussed this usually means you're in a bad place. Sometimes I deliberately goad the event to shoot me if I think my evasion skills are better than my enemy's shooting skills. It can win a game - but sadly isn't rewarded.

ranked rank 1 is it posible without aimbot?
Admiral_noodle replied to X_CRAFT1986's topic in General Discussion
And yet damage output in other classes is low. Conclusion: OP must try harder. Then with more games can achieve rank 1.. -
"Ace" badges and Marks of Excellence
Admiral_noodle replied to BadGene616's topic in General Discussion
I think some more well thought out achievements and some cosmetic flags would be a nice touch. Only issue I would have is if say you have an insane damage output in a ship - it would be nice to have an "ace gunner" badge, but you'd have to lose it if you went below threshold. Nice idea for a fun mechanic though -
Just completed Kongo Challenge... so... where did my reward go?

Can we have a sticky post "where is my ARP ship?" -
Threads like these make me worry for the future of mankind... But seriously a ban list would cripple MM even more. So no.

I have 52 pearls after 8 games. It really suits my "play all tiers" preference as well. It got me out in tier 2 ships and they are a lot of fun Not sure I'll get the kamikaze, but the progression awards are nice too - flags, credits - all useful. With this, the daily and other missions, and the ARP ones there's quite a lot of extra cash and flags to be had. Which is always good. I'll be able to afford the new ships I eventually unlock with 11 million in the bank now.

- signed up yesterday - didn't pay attention to how it worked - couldn't find R missions in game so just played as usual - just checked and I have 20 pearls I like this idea. I'll just play as usual and apart from the carrier missions I'm sorted. Might tempt me to Langley. I'll do the DD missions in my tier II since I have no idea

Teamwork in Random Battles - Mission Impossible? ;)
Admiral_noodle replied to Trigger_Happy_Dad's topic in General Discussion
Creating teams from randoms is hard, but can be done. It helps if you understand herd mentality and peoples motivations. I stopped a flight on a flank a couple of days ago by angling my Nagato at three approaching enemies and refusing to budge. Their push stopped and my team reformed around me. This is why BBs are better to carry. Not only do they hit hard, have high HP, but they psychologically lead too. You also don't need the whole team. Just create ad hoc divisions with whoever is compliant enough to follow. I love it when that happens.- 16 replies

"Ace" badges and Marks of Excellence
Admiral_noodle replied to BadGene616's topic in General Discussion
Well there are achievements for devastating strike high caliber etc... I would like more though, just for flavour. I do like the idea of your ships getting a special flag when you get a certain number of kills in it or maybe a kraken unleashed flag. Like the ranked flags but for "other achievements" - which do nothing other than look cool -
Seriously. The game is not out to get you. You're getting potatoes in your team. The enemy has this problem too. Only answer is try harder. Oh and eventually your luck will change if you play well and have patience.

Confederate requirements too steep?
Admiral_noodle replied to KillSlim's topic in General Discussion
738 games First blood 43 Devastating strike 53 (wish we got a flag Confederate 29 (cmmdr xp is ok as you can use it on prem ships for training) High caliber 15 Dreadnought 13 Everything else <10 Still need: Solo warrior (virtually impossible. I did it with a St. Louis once but alas on test server) Die-hard (I don't ram!) Witherer (I don't really torpedo or HE spam with the ships I have. Got it on test once with a Murmansk) Clear sky (now this really is a CV easy award) Liquidator (again, lack of torpedoes) I've got one unsinkable but you get that for screwing up damage control. I got one double strike and one CQE - with Kongo on a Langley only one kraken so far. Confederate isn't too hard or over powered in reward. It's usually a recognition of a good game like high caliber. -
You know that feeling. When you shoot and your enemy dodges, refuses to give broadside or times a move to perfection, like they knew what you were planning. Or when that DD invisifires over and over, when torps come at you perfectly *despite* your mabouvering... That Cleveland that knows just how to fire over that island and the battleship who deliberately waited for you to turn then nails you at long range... infuriating... So you know what I've started doing? complimenting then for good play then complimenting them via the system. Sometimes you just have to sit back and recognise: other players can play well too what are your major frustrations which make you rage at the screen? Or don't you? Do you ever think after "yeah they played well". My number 1 irritation is cruisers who dodge and angle when I'm in my BB. I'll litterally shout at the screen

WARGAMING YOU NEED TO GET THIS SORTED
Admiral_noodle replied to HMS_BlindSide's topic in General Discussion
I was getting worried about this update but it installed flawlessly in 6 minutes. -
Yes. I can even play on someone else's client as "me". Though the preferences are local. Similarly you can run two accounts (2 players same house) on the same PC.
-
My stats show im worse in division. Go figure.
-
Actually thinking about it if I get confederate and high caliber, I don't actually care all that much if I lose. Whereas a roflstomp in a game where I'm in a New Mexico and get 6 hits all game feels as bad as a loss.
-
Getting stuck on islands is a trait of WG own bots, so I would be suspicious. Similarly "predictable" behaviour like sailing towards the enemy (whatever enemy) firing and not hitting much. Even then after market true bots are truly awful. Even worse than players I've seen few instances of true bot behaviour.
-
I can't hide mine. It would kind of invalidate my opinions and make me somehow dishonest. The only thing I would hide stats for us xvm in wows

Hmm. Yesterday I may have been in Dresden organising the entire team - well about 4 tier 1 cruisers - in hunting down a "far too good for tier 2" umikaze. He was undone however as I instructed said tier 1s to constantly change speed and direction and we hunted him down. Was fun actually. People listened!!
-
This makes me rage too. Fortunately not all that often. But those times when a cruiser is ignoring you sailing full broadside going (in my head) "derp derpity derp" and every shot misses by mere inches I'm like... "Wtf?? Game is trolling me!!!" I then start being sarcastic to the screen which makes my partner question my sanity. But generally when I get fed up or irritated I try to look at where I might have been outplayed. Makes me feel better somehow if I know my demise is due to opponent skill rather than "just bad luck".
