I believe you but no amount of refreshing will move it past 8,880,000

what is your biggest flaw in wows?
Admiral_noodle replied to Dippypiece's topic in General Discussion
i tend to underestimate lead on certain ships I don't know how to play "fault line" I'm too concerned with my stats I really don't know what to do with torpedoes I can't DD. I'm truly bad. -
Mine is at 8,800,000. Er. (?)

Does your ship deserve it's tier status
Admiral_noodle replied to anonym_EFwxJOPWzlER's topic in General Discussion
The Karl should just be better. St. Louis can't compete vs. Tier V though. It really isn't a tier IV because of its speed and range. Granted it's a tier III beast -
Hmm. Interesting. I tend to "gg" when: - we are about to win a roflstomp (to my own team) - a close game (to all) Usually I type gg when a close game has just tipped in favour of an enemy. It's like a concession of defeat. I rarely gg all a win.

I still have weekly missions (play 10, win 5). It's not my fault if I complete them! But I did have a break today
-
Perhaps the noobs could learn to play rather than accuse people of cheating. Like I did. Like we all did.
-
Player is average or "ok". Which means it's very hard to stop random win/loss based on the rest of the team. Therefore OP is stuck on rank 15. Any questions?
-
Yea I've had floating mountains too. No mods.

This is getting beyond a joke now.

I really don't like the sentiment/attitude around "coop people are playing random and ruining my games". Or basically "I don't want to play with bad players". Anyway team battles are coming, which should please people. A chance for all the "purples" to play together (No idea what colour I am. I'll hopefully team up with friends. Maybe a forum team ) -
Well in this case turn your secondaries off. Does p do that? For consistency s rework would be better. AA doesn't shoot friendlies does it?

It's because there are more people in hunting for pearls in a frenzy. I even made mistakes in a couple of games because I was over focussed on getting missions done quickly. Over 30k online and my friends were on too getting those pearls. Event like this was always going to end in a frenzy. I should get the kamikazee now. With no idea how to play her. Much coop will happen

Troll whinge thread as this is, I've noticed done very odd games the last 24 hours. Well I played 8 and they were all odd. Two (a win and a loss) were great games. I came close to kraken in both. In the win I got high caliber in the loss I got confederate. The other 6 games. Eh. Not so much... A game in my tirpitz where we were 6 ships down within 5 mins (how?). A New Mexico tier 8 game (boo) with five ships who barely left the spawn. A warspite game where three DDs refused to cap and suicided. And the other win was a complete roflstomp. But this happens. It's not particularly unusual. -
Well I struggled over 260 pearls last night with the weekly missions. Safely made it to 273. The games I had were strange, with only 3 wins in 8. It felt like a lot of people were panic playing to get their pearls, but I could be wrong.

Well said. Had a good and fun game yesterday in Nagato that the enemy team won by being better than our team. We even played like a team (well some of us) and worked together. It was close but the enemy had an annoying Fujin who stopped me winning (Babykim) also the wrongness of "the MM decides your WR" vs. "Skill decides your WR" is giving me s headache. Simplistically MM decides most of your WR and skill decides the rest which is why Unicums have 65% not 100%. Over time "MM screws me every time" becomes less and less of an excuse for a poor WR. By 500 battles it's unlikely a good player will be below 50%. By 1000 it's very unlikely. By 1500 it's very very unlikely...

My latest was in Nagato in a tier 9 game on shatter. I sat at the back defending the base when a half health Yorck saiked through the middle broadside to me. First shot full salvo killed him. "Nice hacks" pops up in chat. I still don't know if he was saying if I was cheating, so I always reply "thank you"

Team battles mode: better alternative to Random mode & ranked battles?
Admiral_noodle replied to daki's topic in General Discussion
= clique battles i I think a forum team (or six) would be good! -
It sounds like the thing which happens to me sometimes but frantically wiggling the mouse and mouse wheel seems to fix it.

Then why play a game? Why play anything? Of course I feel better about myself from improving at wows. At anything. It's about testing yourself and achievement. It doesn't matter *what in*. You are a troll or have some pretty serious self esteem issues. And I don't think you're a troll. I do agree some people take the game waaaay too seriously, but a little bit of "trying" does yield positive results.

Yea I would like the minimap mod in the base game as something obvious. -

Thing is... I run "modless" because 1- I don't want to have any unfair advantage and for me that means "vanilla". 2-I have enough issues with mods messing up my game in cities skylines looking at your UI - especially/mainly the map mod - would make me perform better. Last known position and what ship it is is *unbelievably* helpful. But I don't have that. So I am at a disadvantage. Is that "fair"? But where is the line? WG need to set it. They have with aim assist. It's a cheat. The others. Fair game or unfair advantage. You decide. -

Also abusable - I can team up with my worst friend to go seal clubbing I'm not afraid of competition at all in fact that's how I got better. But I want to face *better* players so I can learn. Ranked frustrated me because I started late and despite trying hard and regularly coming top of the team I couldn't get to the "good" ranks thanks to mostly tomato teams (win loss win loss). I'd have got there eventually but it took too long and I had missions to do. Also only facing players on your level teaches you bad habits which are actually harder to eradicate later. Going "seal clubbing" at low tiers allows me to teach newer players - on my team and the enemy (if i sunk someone because they made a mistake I tell them, with a smile. Sometimes they will rage but most times they will learn from it). Also you'd end up with "cliquey" games and players who would decide they were "elite" - and abuse any "noobs" just joining their tier. Plus all the "good player" games would be toxic as hell. I can just see it . I get where you're coming from but I don't think it would turn out the way even you would like...- 306 replies

You do all realise that saying "I don't take the game seriously" and "I play for "fun"" (don't we all? Being good and winning is fun) and "I don't play to win" is simply saying: I'm bad. I don't try to improve because I fear failure. I fear finding out that I'm not very good. I can't face that so I shall deliberately say I'm not trying to be good so I don't have to admit to trying and failing... It's disappointing people get into this mind set because they might actually find if they try they will improve and actually have more fun - and feel better about themselves. Think on that OP and good luck no one will judge you for failing if you TRY.

Well we aren't going to agree. I don't play wows to have some kind of league going on. I play for enjoyment. I division with friends who have different skill levels. I like helping out players who aren't as experienced. I like the randomness even when it ends in defeat. So long as I play as well as I can. I wouldn't mind MM trying to "balance" teams on skill (equal tomato count both sides) but I don't want a game where you only ever face people "your level". Far too serious- 306 replies
