So after getting used to them the new sounds (while still bad) are an improvement over the old ones from a "causes pain" point of view. They still sound too digital though

Secondary Armaments In-game (with Poll)
Admiral_noodle replied to KarmaQU_EU's topic in General Discussion
I would like a key which changes your view to secondaries (4? ) you would then have to aim as usual but I would expect just hold down the left mouse button. I think there are too many guns for individual fire To make it not OP the dispersion would be bad. Would this be fun? Also rather pointless in a fast firing cruiser. -
Yes I agree with this. Accurate guns mean reliable damage. Good AP penetration too. I deleted a Nurnberg with my Koenigsberg in a duel recently bbs dispersion cuts the reliability. But on average the BB will do the job more quickly (on average)

How to stay invisible with a destroyer
Admiral_noodle replied to row72's topic in General Discussion

And Kongo (upgraded) is competitive up to tier 7 because of her speed. Angle and run from bigger BBs and sink cruisers. Also tier is nowhere near as powerful after tier V. Just yesterday I went 1v1 with a Nurnberg in my Koenigsberg. I was half health he way near full. I stayed neutral firing my front guns only while he turned broadside to try to finish me. AP + citadels for the win So in Kongo you will get tier 6 and 7 BBs happily turning broadside to you. Punish them. You also don't have to fight the higher tier BBs. Avoid them. In a Kongo you can unlike the US BBs. Play her like an oversized cruiser in the games you mention. Your biggest threat will come from higher tier carriers and DDs, but with Kongos speed and agility she can really be effective in such games. Now a St. Louis in a tier V game on ocean. That's a whole different sad story.

Smoke screens are OP [edited]
Admiral_noodle replied to The_Gleam_Eyes's topic in General Discussion
I don't play DDs. Smoke is not OP. If someone is invisivifiring from smoke: - don't charge in - if in a cruiser use hydro - if in a light cruiser spam the area with HE. Pay attention to where the shells are coming from If in a BB walk away and ignore. Go somewhere else. -
May I also recommend incoming fire alert. It's saved me countless times. If it goes off and it's not from my target, I stop look around and try to dodge the incoming shells. Before I had it I had a nasty habit of suddenly dying. I don't find demolitions worth it on Koenigsberg. Murmansk for sure Last stand is mandatory as is situational awareness and high alert. I'd even consider superintendent with the number of DDs, but you can just buy the upgraded hydro.

Nuernburg is a joke. Heck everything in the German tree suffers. Everything.
Admiral_noodle replied to ApesTogetherStronK's topic in Cruisers
I've unlocked the Yorck. Not planning on buying her soon though. Nurnberg is so much fun! And perfect for the arp haruna part 2 mission. She farms confederates too and the occasional kraken It's all about the pew pee pew! Though Koenigsberg is lovely too. Just so long as you don't get hit and blow up - incoming fire alert is a mandatory skill I feel. -
It may be that BB guns are over penning and hitting the citadel requires accuracy in this case, while plunging bb shells just have to hit the Nurnberg I also found the Nurnberg easy to citadel at close range when I beat one in a 1on1 duel with my Koenigsberg the other day

And some of the stuff about ww2 cruisers is still classified, which is amusing and typically British. Being slow and needlessly bureaucratic i want RN ships as soon as possible, but I'm kinda excited by the very pretty looking and battleship like soviet cruisers
-
Of course id like that. I'd be buying plenty of Juliet Charlie's and Zulus But why would WG do that.

Why are there so many cheaters in this game
Admiral_noodle replied to row72's topic in General Discussion
I'd say the game comes in 3 tranches. Tier 1-3,4-7,8-10 I'm good at 1-3 but it's random. I'm good now at 4-7, occasionally brilliant. 8-10... Eh... Less so. I'm a scrub who doesn't know how to play with the big boys. But I know it's not others cheating, but being better than me! -
Why are there so many cheaters in this game
Admiral_noodle replied to row72's topic in General Discussion
If so many cheaters why am I still improving? I always assume everyone is using mk1 aimbot (or their eyes and brain) and act accordingly. Weaving puts aim assist off just as much as good aim. In fact a skilled player with judgement is far more dangerous than one using a cheat. I've never seen anything in game suggesting anyone is using anything to "break" the spotting mechanics. Just learn how they work. I've been accused of cheating though -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Admiral_noodle replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Saw Tuccy in the Kirov on our team while in my Nikolai. He died pretty quick but we won anyway -
It does take forever to get information out of the RN though
-
Pensacola balanced at tier 5 (read the last paragraph)
Admiral_noodle replied to fallenmemories's topic in General Discussion
I don't think Kirov will be OP. High in the water, big, sluggish... Unlike the Furataka it's a BBs dream -
I've got used to them. At least they don't cause physical pain like the screech did.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Admiral_noodle replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Totally not seal clubbing. - funny thing is I go ten games without any medals despite having good games, then they all arrive at once. -
Suspect this will get closed. Lots of similar threads exploding. Put it in the current update feedback. I think WG might be aware they aren't popular already
-
Can I echo the critical damage sounds hatred please. It's really unpleasant. The screech noise we had before was painful enough, but somehow this is worse. Only a minor issue but it upsets my cat and partner too
-
To be fair, the patches do delete old files so you don't just add them together - and what software these days doesn't update itself every flippin' week
-
Then it's likely to be fixing something which got broken and is affecting lots of people.
-
Another patch Every time I have a free half hour this happens!

I want to see the face of the person responsible for the new sounds in 0.5.3.2
Admiral_noodle replied to WhiskeyWolf's topic in General Discussion
So I've heard it now and it is indeed horrible. However it doesn't make me jump and cause me physical pain like the old screech noise. -
This is unbearable ! (They are Soviet !)
Admiral_noodle replied to Armen_13's topic in General Discussion
Eh... As a citizen of the United Kingdom who is British and also English, such distinctions don't bother me any more. I have American colleagues who have been to Glasgow "in England".... Close enough. Yes some people use Russia and Soviet Union interchangeably. Yes they are wrong. Really there are more important things to worry about.
