Yep. Although I had some good games today in the end. Not great for damage but some entertainment. Which is what counts. But the teams. Very random and not a lot of team work. Got together in a division and had some fun though. And solo... Just have to find those players willing to play the game and try not to focus on the complete morons.

Are Team Battles really the only way to enjoy this game anymore now?
Admiral_noodle replied to T3ddyBear's topic in General Discussion
Don't forget the event requiring tier 7 ships and higher. And it's a weekend. Games really are weirder at weekends. On the plus side the randomness is on both sides. But I get extreme games. Roflstomps or complete fails. Division up. It's less painful -
Well at least you had a good game. I've had an awful day with games of like 20k damage then being randomly sunk. Very frustrating. Three games (two in Amagi mostly missing while my team die) in a row ending in shameful defeat. Time to walk away for a bit.

So... Win RATE means something. Given a big enough sample size. Individual games "mean nothing". Most people play to win and have fun. However that doesn't mean taking it massively seriously. I play to have fun and to win! But unwind? Games can be quite adrenaline fuelled Today's achievement. Losing two games and thoroughly enjoying them. Especially as the last man standing in Kongo. The balance is - as I think OP was pointing out - not to care too much about a single stat and certainly not over like an evening! But if you have a sub 50% WR then just be aware that if you want it to go up you can do something about it. It's not "all luck". Over time.

I fly my CBT flag and even my rank flag just in case someone might think "hey he's been around he might know what he's doing". It can be useful. Since team work helps win games. As an aside games seem... Weirder when I play at this time of night or when the server population is high. Weekend peak times are the strangest. I actually think playing "off peak" leads to better more team oriented games. I have no idea why.

ARP commanders & lack of stat points

Me when I get a new ship or completely untrained captain! -
Come to tier IV to VI. It's infested

I want both, more and at the same time. I'm hopeful WG will find the right balance - and probably have separate resources working in different things.

Winning isn't everything. Point is you can play well, try to win, give it your all and still lose. No point beating yourself up over it. Just keep trying and the wins will come. That's very different to "just mess about and don't try to win". Not trying to win = not playing the game.

To further clarify. Win rate is a good stat but over hundreds of games. Losing 10 in a row doesn't mean you're a bad player. I like WTR because I can have a "purple" game and lose. Makes me feel like I did the best I could. Sometimes it's flawed. In a run of 8/9 wins in a session I "only" managed green 1000, and the loss was my "best performance". But in 3 of the wins it was me getting focussed and taking all the attention while my team won the other flank and capped to win. I certainly helped win by stating put and lasting as long as possible. I wasn't able to do much damage because I was busy angling and dodging torps. And wasting the carriers time In another win we win because I hid my Murmansk on 1k HP with 2 mins to go just because I knew it was close and rather than farm a bit of damage on a bb I chose to hide and win. Stats are only meaningful over a lot of games. If you lose but come top then congratulate yourself. But always think - was that a fake I could have turned into a win? If no, then it's one of the 40% of games you're going to lose anyway.
-
I have a big evough sample size now to confidently say the 46% WR I had in CBT was down to my not being very good since learning the game my WR has climbed. This seems unlikely to be luck. So I was that guy...
-
Again... Over a long enough period win rate isn't all luck. If you win 10 games because of luck, lose 10 because of luck but win 2 games *because you actively carried the game* you will get >50% WR overall. Dont worry about the 80% of games you couldn't swing. Concentrate on those 20% where you can make a real difference. Win Rate means something. Winning *one game* or even ten in a row means nothing. So OP is right in a sense.

Would extend. 10pm is just a bit early in the UK to end.

PROPOSAL: Fire damages inside citadel.
Admiral_noodle replied to OOAndreasOO's topic in General Discussion
OP is right. The ship shouldn't SINK from fire. It should be a floating burned out abandoned hulk Same impact in game. Ship is "out of action". -
Yea just compare my CBT with stats now. The handicap argument is valid. But so is "people". Some people simply won't learn. Some people think they're awesome when they are terrible. Some people genuinely think the world is flat. Fortunately it's not many people in the grand scheme of things. You can also take comfort that you're as likely to meet such people on the enemy team as your own.
-
Pretty sure there isn't any such "rigging" and that you're looking for something every time you just have bad luck. But I can't give you any "proof" obviously. So have fun with the theories. If you get some quantitative evidence, with a nice correlation graph, I'll be the first to agree and go mental at WG Until then...

Do you know what wows xvm works based on? My win rate is 58% for the first time and I was pleased until now Also I can't handle the pressure of expectation if I'm labelled as good. I'm really not. Please don't all look to me!!
-
I'm a naturally defensive player who concentrates on not dying first. As a priority I learn how to avoid damage not dish it out. The focussing I had in my last ten games or so has reduced my damage output but increased my win rate. It seems while the evemy focus me my team have an easier time winning. Only tier V and VI though so i wonder if it's just luck/chance. I doubt many people at that tier use XVM do they?

You're earning ships with pretty colours. What's the problem

Bottom of sea impassable for wrecks may be nice
Admiral_noodle replied to Cpt_Roberto_jr's topic in General Discussion
I actually agree with OP. A "nice to have" but not essential addition. - burning floating hulks would be nice for burned down ships - wrecks sticking out of shallow water - more sinking animations. - enormous explosions for detonation On the last one I'm sure I saw a ship capsize yesterday. I don't think I've seen that before. -
ARP commanders & lack of stat points
Admiral_noodle replied to fighting_lady_tatiyana's topic in General Discussion
Because 3 games in coop is too much effort? -
Is XVM broken now? I just turned "blue" on warships today and now I seem to be attracting more than my fair share of attention. Like getting carrier dropped in my Murmansk it being shot at when I'm definitely *not* the best target. Generally it means I have less fun games... But stil 7 out of 8 wins. I'm a difficult target and don't die easily. So please shoot at someone else. It won't help you win to focus me... Apparently

Usage of "Premium Consumables" - do you guys use it on all your ships/tiers or use it selectively?
Admiral_noodle replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Always use premium damage control and heal on BBs. Premium damage control and hydro on German cruisers. Always go in with cammo. Means I live longer and can do more ---> more XP more credits more wins. They pay for themselves. -
How much ammunition would a ship carry?
Admiral_noodle replied to moggy242's topic in General Discussion
Add in realistic speeds, realistic hit rates and ranges, and most maps on ocean. A naval simulation is better for turn based strategy games, not games like this This is a first person shooter with a naval flavour. For me it's very close to the right balance of gameplay vs. Realism. -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Admiral_noodle replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Who are these fake noodles! I've not met anyone of here lately, probably because I'm messing about at tier V and VI, and don't play at peak times (which leads to better games IMO). I need to division up more - though that does make my stats go down
