What does this website say about you?

You know there's already a thread for this -
The misery, the frustration, the contempt

...team play in random battles still better than Beatty + Evan-Thomas at Jutland* Sympathy - bad games happen just do what YOU can and at least die gloriously. I lost with Bogatyr in style today. 4 kills, high caliber, confederate. Hitting things with BBs - try to remember the good shots. They do happen, but when things are going badly everything seems bad! *(battle) cruisers run off ahead leaving the BBs behind who camp at the back till it's too late. (Battle) cruisers get citadelled and detonated...or what about Dogger Bank? Entire team focusses on one low HP enemy and let's the rest of the enemy team get away? -
Well I won with Yorck today. Close battle domination. Ended up hiding on less than 1k HP so as not to give the enemy points. So fleeing does indeed make sense at times.

Wargaming are trying to tell me something.
Admiral_noodle replied to Nergigante's topic in General Discussion
They kind of are. And I think it's down to the players not entirely WG - shimas aren't actually OP. But why is everyone playing them? Because they are devious? The play style? I've seen plenty of YouTube videos where Des Moines, carriers and such do brilliantly, but still few people play them. I ought to just get on with grinding my New Orleans and become a us cruiser destroyer hunter. But. New Orleans -
Yeah the mission is ok but tier 7 and up? I'm not really in a tier 7+ mood so. Oh well.
-
Mixed opinions. Well I like her. I think it's play style and personal preference.

Not sure there is one - fire HE. Or AP at the superstructure. Clearly it's not punchy enough to go through the main belt. Still more fun than the St. Louis.

Said this before. Agree and more are coming. -
Why does everyone call it the green team but I see it as blue. Or turquoise.

Best / Worst time of the day to win and carry games
Admiral_noodle replied to Spruty's topic in General Discussion
Mornings and weekdays - anytime "off peak" is best for team play, technical games and games where skill counts. You might not win though as for every winner there's a loser. Weekend evenings especially when an event is on result in the most roflstomps and team fails where it's up to the gods to decide the result. But you can still have good games at any time. Just try not to be too amazed by the randomness at peak times I've had epic games filled with potatoes on both sides when the enemy refuses to shoot at me. Those are fun. -
Because torpedoes. And dodging fire. And getting places. Depends on your game play style if you like the bigger or smaller guns. I like the smaller ones. I'm sure others will find success with the bigger ones.

i don't understand North Carolina: Need Advice
Admiral_noodle replied to anonym_gxxGX7KaxQVa's topic in General Discussion
I hated her and even the Iowa doesn't make me smile. My experience of NC was potato firing mortars. Very frustrating ship - though great armour side bow on. -
Right. WG will look st stats and assess using quantitative analysis whether radar is OP or needs tweaking. I expect that it may be slightly underpowered to start as WG won't want it to instantly wreck games then have to nerf it. What has been posted is a "first impression" and should be taken as such. No need to go off the deep end. I actually expect radar to be a bit weak (once DDs get used to it) and incrementally buffed.

I've had recent experience in Kuma and I just don't like her. The Svietlana (and possibly the rest of the Soviet ships) suit my play style. Which is "don't be first" All the guns on the ship and dps with BFT and EM. And she really deals with DDs. Once I've learnt that no, I can't dodge torps like I'm a Phoenix.
-
Yep. Great guns are no good if they won't track while under full rudder. You end up sailing in straight lines and dying.
-
Don't see the radar as a slap in the face to any nation. It could be argued that since the high tier Russian cruisers are clearly *post war* this represents modern tather than WW2 radar. Anyway. It seems pretty balanced from videos I've seen on YouTube. Used right - in conjunction with team mates it's just long enough to do real damage but not so unfair as to make DDs unplayable. The cool down is massive but high tier games tend to go to 20 mins...

The Svietlana is pretty good. Lots of guns, torpedoes and can take enough damage to not be useless. It does suffer from a sluggish rudder and everything breaks on it but thats easily manageable. Laat game 80k damage on big race. Mostly thanks to some compliant battleships.
-
Played her fully upgraded with last stand and really like her. Beware she's no agile Murmansk so you have to think about what you're doing. But lots and lots of guns. Good for DD killing with hydro up. Acceptable fire chance, decent arcs and able to citadel Karls Probably my favourite tier 4 cruiser.

I was waiting long for this example on bad MM.
Admiral_noodle replied to Sir_Grzegorz's topic in General Discussion
I detect that MM is taking a really long time today. I wonder if it's having issues with the new ships + nation balancing new code... Which might perform exponentially worse each time you add a new line -
What is with MM? Every game tier VI. Not fun.
-
It's funny that WG put good ships at tiers 3,5/6 and 9/10 but awful ones are tiers 4,7/8 It seems like there are 3 "sets" of players/play areas. Tier 3 for lols, tiers 5/6 for most casual gamers and tiers 9/10 for the hardcore. The ones In between seem transitional and difficult/less fun to play. Perhaps deliberate so you have to transition between the three play styles. And to tempt you to free XP of course bogatyr is definitely fun.

Happens with Dresden too though. It's a low tier thing.

The hilarity of this game which is RNG
Admiral_noodle replied to killer999death's topic in General Discussion
ESport. Hahahahaha. With no RNG it wouldn't feel like naval combat. So I'd probably go play something else.
