Then you will be dragged down by the "morons" and have nothing to show for it. So have fun with that. Stupid people will exist whether you like it or not. And team killing them won't magically make them learn. Oh well.

Infestation of destroyers is becoming somewhat very frustrating!.

Thankyou i actually dont think its fear of losing credits. It's actually the alpha strike ability of high tier torpedo DDs and high tier ships in general. If you're first, you're dead. at low tiers you can probably get away of have an amusing fight, but higher up you'll just be food. So most players just "namble" around at the back hoping the enemy comes to attack. I'm not sure what the answer is though. It ought to be team play but.. Well that doesn't go so well in randoms. -

Fair enough. Although at lower tiers the gameplay is fun sometimes i get in My Bogatyr or St. Louis just for some pee pew pew. -
...I rarely snipe in a BB. I'm rubbish at aiming at long range and hate missing.

Thats just frustration talking. You know you're better than that. Don't sulk. Go and have fun. Just be more patient and judge when to push. And accept that some players are not very good and never will be. It's only a game. I was bad. But then I thought if others can be good, what are they doing I'm not? How do they win solo with potato team mates. So I watch, learn, and try to copy. Notser is probably my favourite on YouTube. He gets potatoes on his team and tries to make the most of it.

Carriers are OP, Battleships are OP, Cruisers are OP, Destroyers are OP

Regarding "invisifiring" DDs. Read the introduction to spotting mechanics. This isn't a bug. It's deliberate. As for your other points while powerful TBs are visible a long time before they drop. You can take steps to avoid them. I've not been nuked in my bb by air dropped torps for a very long time. Damaged yes. But not outright one shot. -

I've played enough now to *make* team work happen. I analyse what people are doing and try to fill in the gaps (what they aren't doing and should be). F3 works well as if you ping a target it often gets focussed. Capping is an endless frustration as I don't play DDs so rely usually on DDs capping. Rather than complaining "we need caps!" Which is usually obvious, select one which could be possible to cap and hit F3 to focus minds. The odd "affirmative" tells me which people might listen and can be made into a team. I also try to make sure I don't die early on. It isn't arrogance - but I'm better than a lot of players at tier 4-7 and have lots of games played. So I try to sit back a little early on,see how things play out, then try to win. At high tiers, where I am less good, this isn't so true and the games are more frustrating as I have less influence over them. I will get there eventually though (although Russian cruisers have distracted me) -

If high tier meta is annoying don't play it. I'm quite happy at tier 4-7. Above that it gets mighty dull. Usually. -
Yes you get campers at high tiers but don't yolo of alone. Try to follow and support those on your team who *are* pushing forward. Anyway you seem to be frustrated as not doing too well. We all have the same issues in random battles though and I still (usually) do decent damage and get good results. If you like pushing in BB I would recommend the US BBs. With New Mexico you really do need to push - somewhere sensible where you're not totally exposed. But you die waaaay too much. Try to push *when needed* and when it makes sense. Looks like your charging off and dying too early when by surviving you could get more done overall. today I had a game in imperator where I ended up in the enemy cap. Also in New Mexico I capped B on hotspot with my team and a Colorado ended up near the northern islands (we started south). So pushing in BBs does happen! In fact I had to request people not run off in the New Mexico game as I was getting left behind. It's more annoying when DDs don't cap or scout even though it's safe for them to do so.

An idea on how to increase cruiser survivability
Admiral_noodle replied to Penguin_mafia's topic in General Discussion
I think people forget the reason cruisers get deleted at high tiers is because they are facing BBs etc who now know what to expect and how to aim. Cruisers have to up their game and be annoying at tier 7+. But when they do they are brutal. best way to find out is to become the hunter and play BBs. Take bit of the cruisers you *just can't kill* and play your cruiser like that. Sailing bow on to a BB then stopping while he reloads is usually fun as the next salvo falls short -

The best ways to avoid being "balanced" in a cruiser without being useless are also difficult, but can be done. 1 - don't be the most inviting target. In a Pepsi this means constantly changing direction AND speed. People seem to forget you don't have to go full speed all the time. 3/4 speed is particularly annoying. 2 - know who is looking/firing at you. Try to be in positions where only a few ships can fire on you. Pay attention to the situation. Who is dodging torps? Who is running? Who is engaged with someone else. 3 - if you know (2) then you can keep an eye on who is going to fire on you. Then when they do, change your heading and speed. Pepsi can dodge even medium range shots completely. 4 - use cover to block line of sight Won't work all the time and Russian cruisers are bad at dodging. But if you're in Pepsi then weaving and dodging will soon make enemies look elsewhere. If cruisers were made more survivable even I would be seriously OP in them. Lord knows what the really good players would do in a cruiser that won't die. Wreck everything I imagine. -
I am hating the Kirov. Playing it on my other halfs account (he had one game and then decided he didn't like it...!) So far I do a few decent hits then get destroyed instantly in one or two bb salvoes. This thing can't take a single hit from a bb. Short of just straight out hiding I've no idea how to play her. With sluggish rudder incoming fire alert wouldn't be any use either. Unless you want to know a few seconds before you die that you may as well get up and make a cuppa. Can't see how to carry in her either. She's just too fragile. Mind you I keep getting into tier VII games. But I feel like a hindrance to the team! then top tier. 3 kills,80k damage, confederate, 8 citadels... This is going to be a frustrating ship.
-
Just get last stand and accept her top speed is 18kts Svietlana was fun even before I decided to be mean and put a high skilled captain in her she doesn't need range though this causes problems when she gets into high tier games. Mostly then she just has to lurk around and hope something comes into range. The Kirov though.... A support ship. Can't go alone. Can't be first. Has to dance around at the back. I can see that being frustrating.

This really is a tier 8+ problem though. Lower down there are CVs. And when there are lots of DDs they are easy to kill. Radar might have an impact on high tiers. The problem is the mechanic of the longer torpedoes. Low tier DDs are exciting ambushers and often the torps will run out if you're not the target. High tier "walls" of torpedoes basically just curtail movement and close off areas of the map. This isn't OP per se... But the gameplay is boring for a bb or ca. So I'm avoiding tier 8 with my BBs and CAs...
-
...on the other hand you're just as likely to face fail divisions, so overall it will balance out.

1 game in Kirov. Got hit at range by Kongo. Lost half HP. Got hit again. Lost the other half. Angling is futile against plunging shots. I'm not pleased so far with her.

Have been deliberately team killed once in 1000+ games. In a ranked battle So yeah I don't know where you find them all either!

There are noobs at tier 9 and 10. Trust me! Playing with the "big boys" is just frustrating usually. Good players are there but team play still doesn't happen very often. And the rage is greater. And the costs. And the length of games... -
It's very funny... If I remember not to translate the German in my head fortunately im not a good evough German speaker to translate in real time. Which can be a pain in conversations as I have to tell people to slow down.

I suspect a good deal of the forum population have a "better" WTR than you. The WTR isn't brilliant, but it's not terrible. A "green" rating isn't bad. But a green at tier 7 is probably a blue at tier 5, so it's not a great system. its also skewed to damage and can't include capping and decapping. also the population will be very skewed with a big bump of "mediocre" casual players (WTR around 900). Most forum goers are fanatics with >1200 ratings. -
The flawed concept of "kill stealing"
Admiral_noodle replied to DaWyrm's topic in General Discussion
I get what you mean. Damage missions are just dull. But it would be good if the damage could be split by class. Or something to achieve "in game" like do 30,000hp of damage to destroyers in one game. Something different anyway. -

...which is why I try to use F3 on my cool downs to highlight low HP targets trying to escape And also rage when people try to finish me off when I have low HP. Oh my own hypocrisy -
A warning before hitting battle would be an idea. Maybe.
