Because everyone comes to gameplay and not current update the link for today's gameplay issues - which I am facing (bugged UI etc) - I'm posting the link here: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/77014-update-063-feedback-bug-reports/page__pid__1730945__st__20 My workaround: first game is ok then it goes wrong. Suggest restart client after each game. I suspect WG are aware and very busy trying to fix.

0.6.3 micropatch issues 31st March
Admiral_noodle replied to Admiral_noodle's topic in General Discussion
Believe me I was annoyed. I had a proper strop. Then I realised being annoyed was pointless. The main page ought to have a statement on it by now It was fine yesterday now a mini patch broke it. It has better be fixed by Sunday. -

No I'm not defending WG. It's unacceptable that a release should go in - ever - that breaks the game. Even, in fact especially, "hot fixes". But there is no point in getting annoyed that's all. These things do happen, they shouldn't, but they do. I would like a day of premium back though. -

What really grinds my gears though: Let's assume the story of disappearing dd 500m away did happen. I mean we know it probably didn't but let's say it DID. What would any sane sensible reasonable person do? Probably come to the forum. Maybe screenshot the event if no replays. First read up on detection mechanics then post on the forum as "possible bug?" But no. OP immediately jumps to the conclusion it must be hax. -

Well. You aren't on NA. Remember the patch when the UI froze in battle and no one could aim at ships? -

Yes. This is what happens when you do a "minor update" and don't do a full regression test. It's easy to do "this code change can't possibly affect anything" without knowing someone else has used your code in another area. It happens a lot in IT especially when you are on tight deadlines with multiple versions being worked on at the same time usually. The other suspect is usually putting more code than you intended live and mixing versions. Not saying I know what the issue is. I don't. Not saying I think WG have done a great job here. I'm just saying that even with the best controls in the world these things still happen. -
It is annoying. Restarting after every game does prevent the issues. Hope it gets dealt with soon. http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/77120-063-micropatch-issues-31st-march/page__pid__1731384#entry1731384 WG are aware of the issues.

After each battle check your UI. If you find any faults in port you'll get problems in game. Restart client. Or wait till it's fixed. No point screaming about it. These things happen with all IT systems. I should know -
Loving the update and new 'realistic' mechanics
Admiral_noodle replied to Kastike's topic in General Discussion
Something is very wrong. But reports are coming in on the current update page. All sorts of port and UI issues. Workaround: Restart game client after every battle. -
A summary of issues: Game appears fine before first battle. After the first battle ends I get the following list: - Results screen hangs for up to 2 mins before going back to port (back to port/escape doesn't work) - Port UI Bugs: - Bottom left corner of port UI inaccessible (no response to clicks - unable to select ships - no highlighted mouseover) - "information" is inaccessible Returning to battle gives the following HUD bugs - No target circle for guns - massive timer in the centre of the screen does not go away - unable to ctrl-mouseover items in the bottom left of the screen - turrets not showing direction on compass correctly Workaround: Restart game client after every battle.

Has Wargaming lost control or interest? (arguments by developers)
Admiral_noodle replied to Bersigil's topic in General Discussion
Only WG would know the stats on what it might do. However I still favour carrot over stick. Make cruisers more fun. Make them visibly rewarding. Yesterday I did a pathetic 18k damage in myoko. We won. I died. Awful game I thought... except I came 3rd. Got a good lot of xp. Why? I damaged dds. I shot down planes. I did my job. But seeing "18,000" in the top right made me think "well that was bad". The game should feedback "good job" during the game somehow. -

Although in my experience 99% of the time there is always a cruiser or bb within 10km of the dd fight going on. Certainly early game when it matters. Probably because it's usually me... times when you would drop off detection immediately after a dd gunfight are situational. It will be more difficult post patch but not impossible to do. -

I like this but you might well end up with exponential increase of BBs in queue. Long wait times will annoy BB players. Will "BB Kevin" go play a cruiser? No. He will just quit. I understand why WG are loathed to do this to a large portion of the player base. Also you'll get those "BBs waited in queue for 5 minutes" matches which will skew everything up. Fiddle with rewards! For example what if you got 500 free xp for every cruiser first win (extreme I know) - then the first thing I would do every day is try to harvest that with every cruiser. Myoko Edinburgh Hipper New Orleans before I even bothered with my other ships. If this was reflected across the playerbase suddenly cruisers are everywhere. -

And this drives wrong learning. BB Kevin has been carried. He doesn't realise he was being a handicap because he didn't die. He will still end up with a poor WR overall. -

I can fully understand if WG staff are getting frustrated. Just as much as the community. My opinion: They know there are too many BBs. They are watching the situation. They believe (as I do) that BBs aren't op but just popular (I have my thoughts on why in another thread). They don't want to nerf them into the ground because they aren't actually op... instead lots of BBs put cruisers off playing - which is a feedback loop. If there were fewer BBs there would be no problem. Cruisers would play and it would fix itself. What's the next line? *French cruisers* I wouldn't be surprised if WG actually wanted RNBB next but swapped in more cruisers instead. If lots of players take up French cruiser grinding then the problem might fix itself. Other methods of "BB control" could be looked at. Personally I'd nerf bb economy. Supply and demand. If you make BBs more credit expensive to play and cruisers "money makers" that might encourage the desired distribution. -

When I said "alright" games I of course didn't mean "being any use". If you derp as a cruiser you'll get a 45% WR If you derp as a bb you'll get a 45% WR The difference is that in a cruiser your game will be about 7 minutes long and you'll do 10k damage before an unfortunate spectacular death . In a BB you'll do maybe 40k damage, maybe citadel something and get a 15 minute game - probably ending up the last one dead whinging about noob teams... It's not about easy vs hard to play. It's about learned incorrect perceptions. To an unfortunate potato all he sees is "BBs are easier I survive longer and do more damage. I'll play those". Because the UI actually makes it look like damage is the thing you need to do. Team work ribbons and other counters would alleviate this somewhat as well. -

Admiral_noodle replied to thewildgam3r's topic in General Discussion
The problem as you say isn't BBs are op but BBs are too popular. This is unlikely to change much because battleships are 1) iconic and 2) generally can give you an "alright" game without too much effort. Dds are popular because they are fun. Lots of fun. Even with nerfs. The problem I see is cruisers aren't popular because they are high risk low reward. Especially us ones. With no planes to shoot down they lack a proper role. They can't easily nuke things yet are at risk of being nuked themselves. You can have amazing games in cruisers but they are difficult and unattractive to play. I seriously think that if WG fiddled with the economy to make cruisers "money makers" at the expense of BBs you'd see people play them "for cash". Which would pretty much solve the problem of too many BBs/dds IMO. In the meantime CVs could get a rework. -

You do? What tier and what dd/bb? My experience has been that as a bb only sometimes do I get good results vs dds. It's very RNG dependent and situational. Dodging dds who are watching you are very hard. This isn't the case in my GK. that ship just seems to wreck everything. Similarly in my Russian dds it's Donskoi etc at range I really hate - but at medium range Izumi and GK are terrifying. -

Admiral_noodle replied to thewildgam3r's topic in General Discussion
But it's still cruisers that will devastate Dds. Especially with the changes on dispersion. Unless you have a bb close to the cap early game (lol) then it's the dd with the best *cruiser* support who will prevail. I'm actually looking forward to playing cruisers again because I feel they will be really useful support ships post patch. I can be dd buddy and bb support. This is what I loved about the cruiser game in cbt. Now all we need is more CVs and I'll be happy. BBs alone are still easily nuked by carriers. -
Im not bothered with more RNG. It is what it is and I can't hit dds at range with BBs anyway so I usually don't bother unless there's nothing better to shoot at. First I don't think a faster return to stealth of 5s would create any issue at all. Nothing like stealth fire abuse. Ships already appear and disappear because islands. More likely it's effort and devs want to see if it can work without extra fiddles to code. Which I can sympathise with. The new concealment rules are playable I think, but the meta is reversed. Now dds will need backup and teamplay. You can't just expect your dds to "go cap". In a way this is good. For the same reason it's bad... teamplay required.

Admiral_noodle replied to thewildgam3r's topic in General Discussion
Post patch it's clear to me that domination mode will change. The new meta will probably be go to cap. Ask for guns on cap. Get detected. Try to bait the other dd into firing. Pop your smoke. Let your team kill him. Positives of this: the dd with more friends will win the cap. This means teamplay is more important post 0.6.3 as cruisers will need to support their dds and BBs will have to kill the enemy cruisers (or scare them off) to give their dds a break. Negatives: requires team play.
