is the north carolina just a tier 8 version of the yamato?
Admiral_noodle replied to Flukeyluke's topic in General Discussion
1-NC fires a wildly inaccurate mortar shell and hitting with her is a lottery. 2-her penetration with AP isn't that good (which actually makes her better vs. Cruisers...) 3-I'm not afraid of NC Just yesterday I got into a tier 8 match with New Mexico and ended up in a stand off (New Mexican stand off? ) with a NC behind an island. I was on cap (land of fire -C) and she was hiding. Eventually she had to come out and when sh did I citadelled her with the New Mexico. Angled. This is no Yamato- 15 replies

Captain Skill "Fire Prevention" - Redesign
Admiral_noodle replied to Spuggy's topic in General Discussion
Me too -7% additive would be far to good. The reduced damage over time would be a better implementation. As it stands it's an awful skill -
Strenghts and weaknesses of Russian cruisers
Admiral_noodle replied to MeSoFluffy's topic in General Discussion
I find them good support ships. Played the high tier ones on test. Moskva is good but not on her own. She's a great "buddy" for a Montana or Yamato and I had great success in her performing that role. On her own or in a pack of IJN cruisers she's a liability. Russian cruisers seem to be team players rather than lone wolves. Kirov is the extreme example. You have to make sure no one wants to shoot at you, then wreck a cruiser with your insane guns, then duck behind cover before anyone realises you're there. -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Admiral_noodle replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Met Loran_battle on the test server (or someone posing as him!) both in Yamato. I complained about her, the storm came in on North and we went hunting a Moskva to end the game. She appeared out of the mist and Loran engaged her. Then I appeared from behind the mountain and kill stole to win the game -
PT should be closed now.

Port music +1 though. I sat and just listened for a bit

"To Richelieu, Retreat is Not an Option!"
Admiral_noodle replied to Procrastes's topic in Age of Armour Warships
I've played vs this ship in a tabletop wargame and it's odd to say the least. I would say OP. Basically it points at you sailing slowly forwards hard to hit while you have to turn side on to get all guns in target. In the game I was playing (where side on makes you easier to hit) the ship was really annoying.- 47 replies

A closer look at the Molotov and Texas
Admiral_noodle replied to Kurbain's topic in General Discussion
Texas slower than the NY? Is it even mobile? I like low to mid tier BBs so am interested in her. -
300+ games but I'm starting to lose so much I'm not enjoying the game anymore!
Admiral_noodle replied to IanH755's topic in General Discussion
Learning the high tier is best done at tier 7. But brace yourself for feeling like a noob all over again. If you're a decent player you can certainly win more at tier IV to VI simply because you can carry. If both teams are brainless the fact you know what you're doing and are unlikely to get deleted by a good player means your impact is higher. But it depends on ship. Kirov is a team player and not a solo carry ship. Murmansk and New Mexico are my carry ships at mid tier. At high tier you need to be a team player to carry. Or be very good in your ship and know the capabilities of all the other ships as well. OP. Some good advice about not rushing. Play your low and mid tier ships more. Take your time to really get used to them. I had CBT to do that. But even I find I'm rushing a bit with new ships You will win as many as you lose in the long run. If you keep losing you're just getting unlucky with teams lately... Some tips to avoid loss fatigue. - three in a row rule. If you lose 3 in a row go take your favourite ship into coop to beat some bots. You should win, can feel like a boss and get the happy win music - focus on your own performance. So you lost. Did you play well? If you came top 3 or got confederate or high caliber. YOU won. Even if the team didn't. - try team play. Often your team doesn't want to but if YOU try to "do your job" in your class of ship - well it gives you a chance. - watch ichase, Notser. Good content on how to improve. - division with people. -
Given the feedback on the forum, and given the forum is usually negative, I think weather is a hit Overall this patch is looking very good. Things which annoy are generally being left alone this patch. DDs do seem weak on PT. but even I was given DDs to play with... Which wouldbt be a clever idea. Radar has been next to useless because most DDs on PT are sailing around fully detected firing their guns. I think the DD players may be inexperienced Has anyone checked the economy at high tier?

She could always have her citadel removed as her "thing" and behave in fact like an oversized DD, which she is. What's her HP compared to a DD?
-
Ive found its cruisers who benefit because they aren't going to get sniped so easily. Which makes DD hunting fun.
-
Um. Propellers don't work very well when the ship is upside down i get your point though. But drifting ships might be a bit much. Plus your wreck wouldn't say where you died then. It would be cool to ram even when your dead

New weather is great. It stops camping. It means cruisers have a chance not to be nuked by BBs. It's fun! Hope we get some random unpredictable weather. Like not always and at random times.
-
Changes to Atlantic are good. The mountain range map looks nice, if artificial, but seems to promote BB camping. I think it's because there's no room to manoeuvre because of the islands at both sides. It could do with one side being more open I think

I assume it's broken

It appears the server is "sleeping" this morning

Minor bug encountered. I targeted a NC which then went out of range. An Iowa came into range but when I zoomed in I noticed it now had the Iowa and the NC selected as targeted. The NC was out of range but both targets had the target icon on them.
-
Looks weird to start with but then it makes sense. "Sir there's a ship out there!" - "where all I can see is rain". Then said ship looms into view. I think it works quite well.

Oh my. Just played a game in a cyclone and it was phenomenal. Unexpected Pensacola loomed out of the mist while I was sailing my Shchors. We citadelled each other but I managed to kill him. Really really good effect and added massively to the immersion and gameplay. Out carrier did a great job of spotting. Carriers should get XP for spotting in storms. The only annoying thing was the bizarre warning of the cyclone noise. I thought "what the hell?" I really liked this. Are we going to get weather on more than one map? Would be fun on new dawn, strait and of course ocean. Hilarious on ocean actually. Snow storm on islands of ice would've been fun too. Snow!!

Agree. The loading is excellent. Everyone is playing like a loon but: AP is working 152k damage and high caliber in a Colorado Not too keen on the music. The sounds seem better but still cause pain to younger headset users.
-
Much better. I like the capsizing, which was a common way ships sank.
-
They are no worse than before I don't think. But I don't play on headset but the music. Hmmm. You changed the victory music. I love that tune!
-
Very nice. Tiny moan. If it's raining why doesn't the ship look wet...
