    Thank you WG

I got the khaba camo but I'm not sad she's getting a nerf. Playing her feels a bit unfair at the moment.

Who thinks up these rediculous combat missions?

Altho weren't we on about combat missions here? Which I mostly ignore then am pleasantly surprised when I complete them. This is why I like campaigns. More of these please.

Who thinks up these rediculous combat missions?

Seems fine to me. The missions are tiered. Casuals can do the first few bits and no lifers* can complete them all. What exactly is the problem with *not* completing the entire mission? More campaigns would be nice. I've done the existing ones except tasks I don't want to *i finished a complete mission a few weeks back so this term is not meant insultingly - I just had a lot of games!

    How MM is decided

I think WG like to let people believe MM is rigged The original patent for MM ideas mainly focussed on tiers. In fact it basically said if you win more you should get uptiered more while I you kept losing MM might give you a break and make you top tier. However that was a WG specific (not wows) MM patent. And patents don't mean implemented. I believe WoT is introducing a MM tweak making sure you can't be bottom tier *all the time*. Meanwhile in WoWs I'm fairly certain the only MM going on are the listed restrictions. The rest simply is random. Of course MM is doing thousands of games an hour, so even if you notice a pattern in YOUR MM it's almost certainly just luck. For example you would need many thousands of games to diagnose a Missouri unbalancing in you personally. So good luck

    How MM is decided

The one thing beyond doubt is that your brain is programmed to see patterns where there aren't any and to selectively remember to reinforce its own beliefs. That's true of all of us. If you see any "trend" in MM, start recording every game. You'll soon see that all these things are pretty much in your mind - and may find a few true ones that you didn't realise. While doing testing I maintain spreadsheets. So I've taken to doing this on some of my own ships as well to see what I find. For example "Tier 5 gets uptiered a lot" - actually in my testing the average tier for my tier 5 is "6" - which is exactly right. Similarly *overall* tier 8 ships don't see more tier X than they are too tier. However. Play at peak time in the evening and I've found I often get into tier x with my tier 8, whereas in the middle of the day I'm more often top tier. Conclusion: tier X come out at night?

How are you doing in the CotE event? Share your progress

I have spent 75 on some pretty blue camo. I have 55 currently. I expect to earn about 450 on total so I shall get the speed boost mod a couple of times. Event is ok. It's better than nothing. But I wish there were some small items in shop for like 5 coins. Individual flags for example.

    Why all the compliments?

I compliment any good play I see basically. That includes heroic failure. If I see someone doing the right thing I'll often compliment them even if they don't succeed. I like to see people trying to win the game sensibly rather than being selfish or stupid.

Why do you play BBs? A poll...

I had to think about this. I'm enjoying cruises at the moment. I'm dispelling my own misconceptions about them I seem to have picked up. - I don't actually have shorter games in cruisers. - I might lose a huge chunk of my health in one go (regularly) but I still usually hit a good score and do something useful I play BBs because I always wanted to sail a battleship! So I picked iconic. It is fun to be the biggest and real those massive salvoes. After a while tho I like to pick up cruisers again and be the plucky helper that hunts dds, defends the fleet from air attack and provides fire support for my battleships. At least that's what I think when playing cruisers - and I'm not bad in them either. Perhaps there just aren't as many players who want to fulfil that role and therefore don't get much fun out of cruisers. Edit: this also goes for my dds. I take smoke on khaba and others. Rarely for me. It's very satisfying to smoke up my team then go around spotting and firing for them.
  9. ...not knowing core game mechanics at tier 8. There really should be in game explanation of all this.

    new player abysmal winrate

Would just like to compliment op for coming here and asking for advice and not blaming the game/players/weather. YouTube worth watching: Flamu Aerroon Notser iChase Watch their guides and how they play. Aerroon is pretty good at explaining what he's doing as he goes along.

    Addicted to WoW stats

So... OP... Stats - It's a control thing. My suggestion is to BAN YOURSELF from looking at any stats site. Ignore warships today etc. You want control? Control something in the game you CAN control --> your grinds. Remember stats are your HISTORY, not where you are today. Its gone. It can never be changed. Why would you want to change your history? (Actually that might be part of it - trying to have something happen the way you want it to if things in YOUR history aren't what you want. But you can't go back and change it, you can only focus on the now and the future...) Your stats are your journey not where you are. Having a 90% WR means nothing if you potato in the next game and having a30% WR means nothing if you win the next game by your contribution. Stats are merely a useful tool in suggesting where you might improve your game. They are nothing more. Here is what I am focusing on "controlling" - my ships and captains. Insanity spreadsheet incoming...

I have a massive ship and captain spreadsheet and a list of goals and how far I am along them.

Well. At least OP isn't alone. We all seem to have some issues in this game!

Have you used "set as primary ship" function? If you can cope with the remaining ships going off screen you could double your number of ships.

    Spawns

Don't put BBs at the front. They will just not move at all then. To OP. Keeps happening to me of late too. But I quickly state where I'm going and get moving to the fleet.

    Invisi fire

Check Notser or Aerroon on YouTube. If you watch games other people are playing while they narrate what they are doing it all becomes clear. It's what I did anyway

It's clearly a spectrum. I know it's "in me". I tell myself not to look but then I have to. Why? No idea. If I don't check them after a bad game or two I'll get the idiotic fear my stats are slumping and I'm therefore worse at the game, not actually any good and people will criticise me for being inferior. It's deep seated and irrational. It's worse for OP. However he's not a loser. He just needs to find his own answers. Like OP I think I need to just "let go". But how? And I am supposedly analytical intelligent and evenly balanced. But *even I* can see I have a (very small but existing none the less) issue over performance stats.

    IFHE Conspiracy Theory

So I'm off to go look at armour models of all ships tier 8-10 right now So it's situationally good vs us BBs decks. Given that includes Alabama and Missouri - which there are a lot of - saying it's "worthless" isn't true. Maybe works on NA better. And Atago, a tiny piece of Edinburgh Otherwise I've not found much between the magic numbers 33-43. But useful if you need to melt USBBs...

No I don't actually need therapy about this but I find it interesting that despite knowing so much about how stats work, how unimportant they are overall and how letting stats affect your enjoyment of the game is crazy... I still have issues simply *dismissing* the immediate "fear of failure" I get when loading into the game. On the other hand it does mean I want to play well and win. Which is at least better than some To OP. Stop looking at stats. You don't need a new account. Just focus on recent periods and be happy when you see improvement.

It's a psychological problem though. I don't have it as bad as op but I have issues such as: - if I have a great game I don't want to play more in case it "ruins" my daily stats - if I have a run of bad games I feel the need to "fix it" This is insane behaviour. I see the stats as a judgement. I think I need therapy.

I have this problem. I display my stats in my signature not to brag, but so people don't have to check up on me when I have an opinion to brand me a noob. I was also proud of my WR. Not so much the arbitrary WTR but WR. But now that WR is going down. I was proud of getting to 60% after starting from such a poor position - 45% after 400 games when I can looking for help. Playing became fun as all the numbers rose and I thought "I'm really getting somewhere!" Now though I play and after each session - generally - I see the slide. I feel like I'm losing something. I had a 61% WR but now I'm about to go through the 60% barrier - the wrong way. I even know why. Every other stat is going up. But this includes my average tier. As I stop seal clubbing at low tiers and try to learn high tier and new ships - that WR of 60% - especially solo - is pretty much impossible to maintain. It's too high already because of games in imperator and spamming Murmansk - becoming an expert at one ship What I need to do is realise that for me a 55-57% solo WR is "my level" currently for tiers 7-10, and stop beating myself up over the 60%. WR doesn't win you anything. Neither do stats in general. It doesn't make me a "worse player" because I'm learning to play new ships against better players... Now I need to read this and believe it... I think "stats worry" also gives an insight into the person. Lack of confidence. Internal insecurity and a need to be "proven" to be good...

Plea to Wargaming; high tier camping must go.

There are things you can do to dissuade camping. For players - cruisers offer to escort BBs. Which BB wants escort to cap B? I ask. Usually a German BB will be the one to answer affirmative so I stick by him. Often this results in a push. Just today my New Orleans nearly did a full circuit escorting a FDG. - dds ask for support *before* you get there - BBs - who will come with me to B? Sometimes all that's needed is a leader. - when targets are sighted call target priority. It focussed minds. If dds and torps are likely call out hydro and radar. It reduces fear. - coax don't whine. Saying to a BB "I need your big guns closer please" is more likely to result in action - thank good play. Don't YOLO. Stick at the speed of the slower ships and coax them along. Some will camp anyway. But at least most of the team won't and the battles are more fun (not always wins though things can still go horribly wrong) For WG - look at your maps and keep tweaking them. Tears of the desert. Do something about it. Also neighbours is becoming a camp fest because it's too open in the middle. Same for Okinawa. Fix them.
  25. Well it is more enjoyable so they aren't wrong. Obviously it's because of the new mechanic. They could have just lowered her concealment. This way is funnier though. And it makes the ship very good.
