which sense do premium ships like the albany make, if you have no progress for weapons or research on other ships?

So im currently playing usa and using the st caro. i just found out that the ship seriously sucks. by luck you get 1300 dmg per hit, but you reload 30 seconds which is unacceptable. comparing it to a 14 cannon st louis, the carolina is getting raped. so which tree do you guys commend? phoenix to des moines? or would you commend a jappo ship that has like 293527379 guns?

i hit with barely every shot. i only had it once in a battle i hit another caro for 5k dmg but i didnt understand where i have to shoot at

why you dont consider it as good? does it not penetrate or do damage that isnt sufficient

cruiser = many cannons? Which is a comparable good ship to the st louis? when it comes to cannons? any other ship with so many?

i assume the higher tiers will be bad too cuz long reload, torpedo targets cuz slow, so balanced and strong artillery is the best way. i love many cannons and high damage like the louis
