isn't that exactly what CV players do? Playing planes instead of ships?

I would say, if an even just okay-ish and realistically balanced Navy Game would hit the market WoWs would go the way of WoP(lanes).

No. Give back pre CV reeework CVs and AA and everything is okay... Teams aren't "balanced" when one CV player is a brainless potato and the other one is a skilled CV player... the skilled player outdamages the potato and even manages to help his team by spotting, while the potato wastes his planes and spots nothing... The skill difference between CV players was one of the main reasons for the retarded CV reeework, which was supposed to keep skilled CV players from geeking the enemy - potato - CV right at the start of the battle to then take out the enemy surface ships unopposed... at least then there was working AA available... So asking for CV buffs does clearly show that the player asking for them is a effing potato...

At least for once you manage to keep a post short and simple. And that answer of your's... well.. let the people in this thread decide on my tldr: about it...

yes, exactly the answer I expected.

    USS Illinois BB-65...with 3x4 203mm??

An effing air-soft triple gun with a range lower than the secondary guns of the Mikasa... priceless...

    USS Illinois BB-65...with 3x4 203mm??

Nah.. we need some fixed mount firing only forward... at least a 16" or so... and to make it against other DDs let the HE be shrapnell / cluster ammo... When we go weird, we need to go totally weird!
  9. They usually said they would, but stat pages showed they didn't... and weren't any good anyway.

Nice to see that @Figment hasn't changed a bit, still dodges arguments with his "but in MY world..." attitude and tldr: posts. Subs are bad for the game. It doesn't matter, that slightly better than average players usually can sink subs. There's usually 10 players per team in a battle that can't. Subs are bad for the game, as they make BaBBies hug islands even harder than before they got implemented. Subs are bad for the game, as they put a further strain on DDs. Subs are bad for the game, as unless one has a certain mentality they are not to play with. And usually they aren't fun to play against for anyone. Subs are bad for the game.

yeah.. those strike planes are utterly OP...

Yeah, send me more potato T4 CV players to have fun with in Yubari/Orion... Especially seems to act as a potato controlled planes magnet, considering I recently downed 28 planes in a battle without getting sunk by those two (!) CVs going after me exclusively until I sunk one of them and watched the other getting sunk a minute later by a teammate... So.. maybe playing T4 in something else than in a CV might be a better advise?!? You mean they "should have DCs", right? As there's a couple ships right now that don't have DC or anti sub planes. Like Leone.

isn't asking for CV buffs not obvious enough as proof for a subpar player?
  15. Deckeru_Maiku

Tier VI submarines in ranked battles are not OP .

Exactly... but WG in their wisdom to make it different and gave subs to Ping controlled torps... ...which was on the other hand nerfed for sub vs. sub combat, but still is a pita when surface ships can get pinged. Which leads to the result (which is proclaimed by many players here) that subs don't belong in the game in the current way or at least only in dedicated game modes like convoy hunting... which WG decided to ignore.

What Kind off mm is this

T5/6 is the area where you get most CVs and subs, so playing there is globally not recommended. And you seem to be bothered by facing Superships. And it seems you have also problems dodging T4 CV attacks. Doesn't allow for much random battles, it seems... I do what many players seem to do right now: go full T4 for randoms and use other ships only in battles where there's no human subs around (CoOp, Missions etc.) so I can keep my limited sanity. And from my experiences, the tons of wannabe sealclubbing CVs at T4 are usually quite below considering their skill. I rarely have any problems facing them, unless I get caught in a 2 CV per side battle in my Arkansas B. But of course people are different... we're all special little snowflakes in the end.

probably T10 MM I guess? Maybe you should just play lower tier battles, where no superships can be too nasty to you? And CVs are mostly potatoe-captained?

Fine... and now give us examples (several...) of subs other subs under water during WWII

Quoting only the portion of the post that fits your agenda is the style of "discussion" that Sunleader and other's of their ilk prefer... didn't expect you to do it. So here is it again, the part in which I stated that it is not impossible to sink subs in random battles:

    Sub counters

Two options: play random battles at T4 exclusively and by that dodging all subs to 100% play higher tiers in CoOp or other non-pvp modes and get confronted with bot subs only, that are even worse programmed than CV bots.

Sub game mechanics are bad for the game. Bad surface ship players consider subs OP and play accordingly (= too defensively, which hurts the meta even more than having 6 BaBBies in the battle anyway). Skilled players in subs can use the flawed mechanics to farm surface ships, which then proves to bad surface ship players that subs are OP. In the end, it's the same procedure that lead WG to come out with the utterly retarded CV reeework. Except that CVs at least were able to really combat each other... Even though I am on the side in this discussion that would love to see subs getting removed from the game, I have to say that this claim is false. I managed to sink quite a few subs with cruiser dropped ASW depth charges. Very often in CoOp battles... Bot subs are even more harmless than bot CVs. Which makes me cringe whenever I end up in a CoOp battles with Bot CVs and/or subs on the human team... A couple times in random battles ~T6 (so with T5/6 Cruisers vs. T6 subs) when the sub player proved himself a totally braindead potato and the circumstances were on my side. I can't speak about fighting against human controlled subs of T8 or higher, as the result of adding them to the game make me totally abandon the tiers in which I would face them.
  22. Neither for the subs nor the surface ships... which is kida funny in itself
  23. I still wait for the day when people finally stop trying to get a proper discussion with @ColonelPete

Yeah, as can be seen in the game. Right now I see quite a few subs in the queue as soon as I play T5 or higher. And about 90% of the subs I meet in battles are about as skilled as the average BaBBy, which is probably because they are that type of players, that always jump to the "new sheet", in the hope to get their <40% winrate raised by the new OP class... we had this all the time already, ever since the game left Beta. It would also be interesting to see where exactly that silent majority asked for subs... would be a bit problematic, when they are a really SILENT majority... probably the same silent majorities we see in some parts of the world voting for stuff that the vocal majority seems never to ask about... For me (!) they are neither. They are utterly boring to play. And killing them involves no fun, as it not really also not involves a lot of skill. You mostly have to be lucky with your anti sub measures... OTOH they eff up the meta, as the usual suspects are even more afraid to play actively and hide their sorry behinds behind islands even more, making the game as a whole a lot more boring. The only good thing coming from implementing subs into the game is, getting fast T4 battles has become a lot easier, as there seem to be quite a few refugees who don't like to play with CVs and subs in their battles and therefor go to the "T4 safe zone" where they see no subs and only wannabe sealclubber CVs, who usually lack the skill to be proper sealclubbers. So... Yeah, it turned out exactly as I expected it to as soon as the idea of implementing into the game was first mentioned. One of the most mentioned thing in battles I've seen was the wish to implement an "pay to play" option allowing to choose to play with CVs and/or subs or without them... So much for "silent majority"
  25. It's called "Revenge for Tsushima design" and is an everyday experience in this game, whose designers are still mentally russian, even when their passports might classify them differently. The Revenge of Tsushima doctrine calls for German ships being at least one level of functionality below russian ships, while japanese ships are supposed to be at the lowest step of the ladder, excluding a few alibi "quite good" ships, which perform well in the hand of experienced players. The reason for the Revenge for Tsushima doctrin is the hope that players forget the historical events and except the russian fleet as something what it was supposed to be, but never (not even at current time, as recent happenings show) really was: effective. Of course the human mind doesn't work like this on normal (aka non-russian) people. Contrary to the planned result, most people do not blank out historical facts and do not replace them with some imagined patriotic alternate history.
