    How to play Cruisers now

Looking at the first picture I thought: "Wow, that's a shipload of damage done in a Katori..." Then I noticed it was Kutuzov... So please come back when You did that "Take cap 1, then cap 2 and then take cap 3" in a Katori...

No need to remove anything that doesn't get implemented. And nothing to come up with needed...

    General CV related discussions.

Interesting suggestions. Too bad that WG will them completely, as spreadshiet says there can be no problem, as a problem would be a mistake in WGs design and WG doesn't do any failures in design... And as WG seems to think that getting marginally more players for CVs on T4 (mostly) is a healthy result of the CV reeework, nothing will change... So maybe You should just take another year-long break?!?

Yes, people are still talking about this potato skill... Because it will make the game worse, as lots of potatoes will use it on ships that don't benefit from it, but still camp the A line and be even more useless than they were before. And often enough these people will end on YOUR (which bothers me really...) or worse, on MY team. Yes, with most of those potatoes using this skill it will give them no raise in skill/DPM/winrate/whatever... still it has a negative influence on the game/the meta. Like CVs.
  5. I guess that depends a lot about one defines "achieving" something in this game... Exp, Creds and whatsnot? Yeah, maybe... But for me exp are optional... creds got accumulated over the years and are easy to get in medium tiers, so for they don't as an "achievement" For me it's mostly having fun in the game. Which I have when I win battles or at least have a good and interesting battle... which is the utterly opposite of camping the A line in a HE spamming BB I mean, yeas, I put a DeadEye skilled captain on my Thunderer... but I expect it still to move around on the map a bit once in a while... so it might still end up as fun...

Okay, tested new captain skill setups after getting wo of my 19 pt captains to 21 pts... But first the daily CV battle featuring Ranger... again I got the better team. Again I was able to harass/spot/damage the enemy DDs so that my team got the initiative. And again it ended with a win, even though I only did 34k damage. Still it was enough to mop up three ships and to end with 2.7k PR The Furious ended with a T8 battle and potato team (Bismarck and Cleveland sailing the Channel on Two Brothers Domination mode and of course managing not really much, except for leaving one flank outnumbered and then faltering). It didn't help that the enemy team played more coordinated, keeping close enough to support each other and restricting attack lanes for my planes... So a loss and sh*tty stats for me in that... I gave my Normandie captain a "survival" skill set and got rewarded with a nice battle in which it really helped me to survive and do 77k damage and a sinker in a win. No CVs, but probably some enemy BBs with DeadEye, which kept them out of the battle too long and then outnumbered... seems this skill will be a nice potato indicator... Of course I tried it myself... on my Thunderer. Got the "Tears of Cruisers" map with Epeencenter mode. While the DDs of both teams hurried in the middle to sink each other or get sunk from outside of the circles, the BBs started a kind of ring-around-the-rosie sailing around the circles... in the same direction... So making use of some nice islands on the way I was able to make good use of the 10% less deviation and peppered each enemy ship I got in my sights with HE. Too bad that our CV had sunk about 5 minutes into the battle... at least the enemy CV was kinda useless, so when we managed to get a bit ahead BB-wise and with two of our team - including your's truly - going more middle-ish while still being undetected and outside of the detection range, the end came fast... 154k damage and 2 sinkers was more than what I do in average in Thunderer... add the win to it and it seems the DeadEye skill stills on it *cough* On the other hand I had a 122k damage, no sinkers lost battle in my Yoshino, which was lost the moment that our BBs decided use captains with DE skill on ships that aren't made for it... As they also made the mistake to position themselves behind islands without any chance to shoot at any enemies the battle was decided early, which made me go for s bit of a yolo ride, to get atleast a bit damage done... didn't last long... Oh.. and Mikasa with the secondaries skills is nice... took a 4 minute wait in the queue to get in a battle, but I got rewarded with a win and 39k damage done (mostly secondaries..), while the sinkers were done by DDs mostly..

Shouldn't the description of DE not just say "Active unless spotted" to make it easier to understand?

    Well done, Wargaming!

Never watch any streamers - but I think I managed to show in a stream one of the last days - but I also had no problems playing the game today... did a bit CoOp for missions and tried some different captain skill options on different ships... so 12 random battles and 6 wins... 55% winrate.. so better than on average weekends... Seems I ain't that picky as those interweb heroes doing them streams...
  9. Fixed that for You... As if subs would ever get a chance to cross a whole map to go after the borderhumping BaBBies sitting on the A-Line
  10. Deckeru_Maiku

    Dead Eye

Okay, I didn't... checked the values and it was just not worth it for only about 3km bonusready distance... So I took the secondaries skills instead and had a nice 39k damage done battle with most of that coming from the secondaries I DID put DE on the Thunderer though, ended on the "Tears of Cruisers" map in Epeencenter mode... most (!) BBs of both teams (!) stayed outside the circles... and started circling around, while the DDs fought in the middle and got rekt... In the end the better circlers won - my team - and for once I got a nice battle in Thunderer (154k damage, 2 sinkers) with subjectively lessened deviation of my shells... It helps that Thunderer has ~30 klicks range, can have ~14 km visibility and ends on BFM (= Big F*cking Maps) to stay enough from enemy ships... So yea, I guess for Thunderer DE is a nice skill... and it helps to know when to stop humping the border and get close&dirty

Horrible start but it did improve

Yeah, but you're a good player anyway... I'm just a potato in the John Brath and when I tried it (DE...) I did an even worse result than usual... so no DeadEyes on JB for me... personal experience and preference might differ though
  12. Deckeru_Maiku

Horrible start but it did improve

WoWs S&N shows a Jean Bart battle with 36k damage, 0 kills and a 685 PR, which is not something that I (and most other people here) would consider a "did ok" Maybe you were talking about CoOp battles? Which, due to the way the bots storm ahead in their always same fate don't really help in deciding about how skills could work out in real battles... ^^
  13. Deckeru_Maiku

    Commanders...

Which makes it fitting to a large portion of reeworks/updates, which also work out in ways that only people who don't play the game couldn't possibly can't expect. Praise mighty russian engineering principles. To achieve the desired result that remove everything that stands in the way... worked for Soviet Union with everything: navy, peasants, dissidents...

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Sooo... with all them skill changes and whatnots I did most of my games in CoOp today... Still had some time for my usual suspects: Ranger (with some new skills to test) of course in a T8 battle... so, had a slow start, trying to the DDs and waited for those T8 ships to get a bit roasted before I would go after them. Luckily that didn't take that long, as my team was a lot better then our helpless opponents. So I managed 59k damage, two sinkers (1 DD and 1 BB) and a 3.1k PR in the win... didn't notice much difference to battles before the "skill update" Got a horrible team when doing the battle in the Furious and didn't play that good either... loss... But Krispy Kreme - even with the extremely nerfed range - still can rock it... okay, I got torped by a Yahagi... but only after I sank a Normandie, taking a cap, and gathered 56k damage... Got a 3k PR and a win...

    Dead Eye

Yeah, it's easier done on BBs than on DDs... (that RTS AA clicking..) But as DDs ain't got any secondaries and Cruiser Secondary builds have been removed, there's only BBs left to click on enemy ships for the secondary extra hit%, for which it's easiest to manage it... I mean, I'm a manually challenged 60 years old man and I DO manage to click at them ships I want to get rekt by my secondaries... so at least 90% of humankind and probably all properly trained chimpanzees should manage it, too...

    General CV related discussions.

#1 - WG decided that it was not very funny for the potato "controlling" the attacking planes to suddenly lose them to flak/AA, so losses are not taken from the attacking planes, but from those circling above and please f*ck reality... #2 - WG decided in it's infallible wisdom (gained by consuming the proper amount of vodka) that CV players shouldn't be bothered having to press some buttons to stop stuff like fires, flooding or whatnots, so they made that part automatic. And to not have CV potatoes have interest in their ships, WG made sure that fires that can't doused immediately don't burn really long, because sicrit russian blueprints of all CVs ever been built showed them clearly being supposed to be made of asbestos and reality is to get f*cked a bit more, but WG can't keep the CV potatoes playing CVs if they aren't at least a bit OP... #3 - they can. If there's a really, really, REALLY potatoish potato on it's helm that plays the funny game of "gotta catch all those nice black clouds appearing in front of my planes". Then he will run out of planes after about half the battle.. And come to the forum to whine about all that nasty AA...

Must be one of those "Alligator in the sewers" urban legend... Mikasa has an 11.8 km main gun range... and a base detectability of 11.5 km... not exactly a lot of space to act in to keep DE working... But I'll give it a try tomorrow... for the lulz.. Did a bit of testing with a couple Premium BBs I've got and some of the 19pts captains I've got. The only ship I would maybe run a DE setup would really be Thunderer. Not even sure if I would use it in anything but CoOp though... it's so utterly not my playstyle, that isn't even fun(ny). I don't have those chaingun russians, so I can't say anything about them.... It would also probably work on a Fuso, if not for the often really, really, really small T5 maps one ends up, which leads to enemy ships getting in the detectability range in an iffy... For me (!) the need to stay outside the detectability range to gain 10% more accuracy, while giving either the advantages of secondaries and/or more repairs and less fire just don't work out. And yes, it's mostly potatoes that will choose this skill for even the unfittingest BBs to camp the A line... those who wouldn't hit a barn from the inside, even with 20% more accurancy... so, yeah, I guess we have to gather a shipload of cheese for all the whine coming here at the forum in a month or so... and crackers... it's cheese and crackers always... never go for cheese without crackers... not worth it...

Yubari AA nerf due reeeeework Blysckawhatever invisible kiting nerf all premium DDs got nerfed with the "visible when firing from smoke" global nerf All premiums EVER got nerfed by global changes in the mechanics. Not that it like it, but that how it always was and will be...

I like the new Commander Skills GUI..so far

Don't know about YOUR captains... But I know that I have just don't have any captains left in reserve... well, except for two or three... as all others got dismissed for credits to get their exp...

I feel exactly like You, mate... Even though Smolensk was (and still is) a pita... But nasty WG nerfed my poor little Krispy Kreme! From glorious (nearly) 17 klicks range down to measly 14 km... no more rainbows of fiery love raining down on the enemies... *sobsob*

    Dead Eye

Didn't try the new skill yet, but that "Ctrl-click" mechanic was in the game before - for assigning AA at certain attacking plane squads at RTS times and for "focussing" secondary guns on a target for a small hit % bonus - so it's just something one has to get used to... I mean, on a BB you only have to check the targetting of your main guns only every about 30 seconds, right

That's what WG stated as the reason... Can't tell the players that it's all about finding new and interesting ways to make more money (for reskills, captain exp etc) for vodka and females of negotiable virtue.
