Looks like total bull to me... Soooo... if I would decide to start a thread, stating that I intend to not play anything else than DDs until I have sunk at least 1500 ships would that also have to be considered as griefing? Or if I would use a BB... or - gods beware - a cruiser? Why should stating the intent to sink 1500 other ships in any way could be considered griefing? We're sinking other ships all day long anyway... Oh, I understand... it's because he was planning to do it in a CV, right? Of course, that makes it different... not!

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Just met @Ysterpyp in battle and had the honor to deliver the killing blow to this former clanmate from way back, when I was UNICS myself. And in the end it even resulted in a win of my (stated PotatoAlert) 48% average winrate over his 51% winrate team... Soo... nice to meet You.. hope to see You on my team next time :) Edit: A battle later - this time in my fresh Andrea Doria - I had the honor to meet and sink @allufewig in his Yahagi. This time my team proved too full of potatoes for me to carry it, even though I managed to sink two opponents and do ~70k damage.. -
Costs you a lot more, as paying with really money just shows WG that they "are doing a good job"... :P

There's endless ways for losing a battle... I continue my quest for the ultimate wisdom from now on in my Furious - up to now (from battles done only after winning with Ryujo AND Ranger, and after I had 100 battles in Ryujo, Furious got into battle only after I first had a win in the Ranger) 56 battles and only 46% winrate *cough* with damage and kills still quite horrible... Again only my personal (!) impression: after getting a T6 battle for the Ranger and a win, the Furious gets a T8 battle thrown at it. So maybe it gets better without the Ranger battles first... maybe I'll only get T8 battles only 30% or so instead kinda like 50% of the time as now

Lot unused XP in premium ships solution add option that we can excange it for free XP at rate of 5%
Deckeru_Maiku replied to VedranSeaWolf359's topic in General Discussion
Only one does bother about fexp... Just imagine how many exp I got accumulated on all those ships that I've been playing since the Beta ended.. I never bothered to pay a single € to buy Dubloons (except for a few that came in some ship deals) as I got some for free in game, and still I wouldn't use any to transform exp to fexp... it's just not worth it... unless one is a whale... -
Sooo... with all those verdicts out... could it be... just a thought... It the Leone the italian DD version of the Krispy Kreme? I mean.. slow... yep... rainbow shell arcs.... yep... medioce reload for the class.... yep... not that powerful but sometimes surprising useful torpedoes... yeah, seems so... The only thing that keeps me from getting it immediately is: Dubloons... As I don't intend to spend any real money on the game any longer my Dubloons are a kind of limited resource, except for the small amounts that can be got in game for free sometimes. On the other hand I sit on about 200k coal with nothing - for me - interesting to spend on... So.. what are the chances that the Leone will get blacked go coal in the sooner (or maybe later?) future?

Yep.. I just today finished Part 2 of my research in the field "How to Potate in a CV more or less successfully" featuring the Ranger. Did 100 battles in her, to achieve a comparable base, even though it probably got a bit influenced by the captain skills reework compared to the 100 non-reeskilled battles in the Ryujo Facts: Ryujo - 100 battles - 59% winrate - average damage 45k - average kills 0.99 - av. plane kills 3.06 Ranger - 100 battles - 50% winrate - av. damage 45k - av. kills 1.25 - av plane kills 3.81 From my personal impression (!) I achieved better results with more damage and kills in the Ranger, but also suffered a lot more from getting a) uptiered to T8 more often and b) getting teamed with utterly useless potatoes and c) both at the same time... which then lead to horrible battle results, bringing the average do that shown. See above. Even better CV players than me will sometimes (or often...) get burdened with an uncarryable amount of potatoes in their battles. And as @BLUB__BLUB stated, even when outplaying the enemy CV is no guarantee for a win. It just takes enough potatoes on your team, and - bingo - you're in for a loss... Well, check my stats above (okay, for T6 CVs, but I get if only facing T8 teams I'd probably at least would manage a 50% winrate, too) and the stats of many other CV players and You will find quite a few CV players who will not be able to sink a single enemy ship unless facing a potato like themselves or getting really, really, REALLY lucky. Add to that, that there are a few ships which sport decent AA which will making said ship(s) able to at least make it costly for the potato CV to attack them to achieve sometimes neglectable damage - potatoes often miss with torpedoes and bombs and even more often miss dodging DDs with rockets - which result in brawls being not much different than the last version we had.. potatoes will potate and whine... better players will play better, farm potatoes and get farmed by unicorns and sometimes whine a bit... unicorns will farm all non-unicorns, enjoy competitive battles, unless when faced with a unicum CV, in which case they might get farmed themselves, unless when being in the proper ship and lucky... or being in a CV themselves... which it's back to competetive battles...

The funniest part is, that posting a screenshot with a battle result screen with the account names or the statistics from a different player with his name would considered as "name calling" or "stat shaming" or whatever, even even any derogatory phrases are uttered... On the other hand, using phrases like "You are a perfect exsample of what being a human sapiens means.." often lead to interesting responses...

Had to quote myself for this one... as only one day after me writing that, I notice that WG released a nice and promising italian T6 DD - Leone - which, when offered for coal, would probably would immediately find it's way into my harbour. Too bad it's offered for dubloons... Ah well, I still got some dubloons I gathered over the years, for which I hadn't even pay any real money. The advantages of playing a lot for quite a long time, I guess...

Why are Co_Op games becoming so cretinously cretinous?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to ThePopesHolyFinger's topic in General Discussion
It's been happening since the Beta ended.. I was there to witness it... & Basic medieval female garb. The muslim version usually looks either more fancy (non tradional/non conservative/modern versions at least) or even hides the face or at least the lower face. So no problem using that meme.. Wow... any chance to get that bot in my team in future CoOp battles? Doesn't a bit like the bots I usually meet there, either as allies or opponents -

Then my T10 BBs must be kaput.. I don't get that much damage with only one or two sinkers... and usually I end up in battles with 3-4 DDs that manage to farm most kills by suicidal torpedo rushes... -

Deckeru_Maiku replied to ThePopesHolyFinger's topic in General Discussion
Ah, come on... it is above average... To achieve such a result You need to have either tons of bots or quite suicidal human players on your team, so that you even get the chance to farm all that damage... -
No deal for me here, because T9... I'd like some non russian, non US, non BB Coal Ships ~T5 or 6 pls...

Fixed that for You. Although I noticed Your irony...

I think that might be Your problem here... I mean, get sunk by bots? Chose the wrong tactics, right? Maybe next time You know to have them bots sort themselves out first and then go after the survivors? -
A short guide on how to play ranked if your WR is below 50%

Probably time for WG to put some warning markings into the game, to give potato CVs a hint which ships still have some AA left that might be able to shoot down a plane or five if they try to attack them. I mean, come on, can't have those poor little flying potatoes - insert mental picture of Mr. Potatohead with angel wings here - have their battle ruined due to some nasty AA ships... that might lead to the number of CVs go down... Nerf AA! Nao!

Remove bot CVs from COOP
Deckeru_Maiku replied to RenamedUser_92906789's topic in General Discussion
Mostly random battle player here. Please re-implement the the intelligent we had quite a while ago... y'know, the ones that started most "only CoOp players" to whine about them bots being OP... Even now CoOp bots are more skilled than a large portion of the playerbase, but enjoyed it quite a lot to play against bots that at least offered a minimum of a challenge... Oh, and please remove bot CVs on human teams in CoOp. They are not needed a bit. If CoOp only players want to do the plane kill missions they can just division with a friend who plays CVs using an AA specced ship themselves... -
Lack of skill is destroying the game
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Camperdown's topic in General Discussion
How exactly would tutorials help the part of the playing community that has utterly no interest in finding ways to get better, which is proved by their <40% average winrate over the course of 15k battles? Do yourself a favour and install the PotatoAlert app and check for a week or so for every battle you do the assembled skill averages and number of battles played. Then come back and ask for tutorials... -
Just in the last three days I had players torp allies on two different occasions in random battles. At #1 I was the poor "target" in a cruiser, while getting in position to send my own torps at an advancing enemy BB that was sailing through a passage between two islands, which kept it from firing at me. While I was still for my torp launcher get to the needed launch angle, I suddenly see a torp warning plop up and an allied Acasta pass me on the opposite from where the BB was... and dang, those torps were nicely aimed - they all hit me... somehow I survived, but I was distracted enough that I missed the proper moment to launch my own torps, missed the BB and got blapped by it as a reward. And about one main gund reload it also blapped the - now pink - Acasta... PotatoAlert told me, that player had a glorious 42% over 1200 or so battles, with 20 or so in the Acasta for a stunning 34% winrate... Occasion #2 happened and this time a poor BB, sailing doing BB things.... no.. sorry.. I was advancing towards the enemy, guns blazing, with two enemy DDs to it's left, a enemy BB to it's right and an allied Nicholas also to his left... I was in my Krispy Kreme and still a bit more to his left, trying to take the DDs from 10+ klicks. Suddenly the Nicholas, while nearly side-by-side with our BB decides to launch torpedoes... not the enemy DD.. if he had chose them, they would just uselessly evaporated five km before they could have done any harm... nope, he targeted the enemy BB - about 8 klicks away.. *cough* and managed to totally ignore the allied BB in his sight.. it must have been fully blocke his sight to the enemy BB, so close he was to it.. and still managed to launch his torps and scored glorious 3 hits or so on our BB, which managed to survive, but sunk a bit later by enemy torpedoes.. Two examples of the kind of players one meets regularly in battles... So, yeah, it seems the bots got downgraded to play like the average human WoWs player...

[Co-op] New bot behaviour? Smoke hiding BB with team damage

Lack of skill is destroying the game
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Camperdown's topic in General Discussion
I play quite a lot CoOp. For missions... For "real" playing it's just not challenging enough.... okay, except for the time when my CoOp winrate got ruined by all the new potato CV players we got in the teams, which was really a handicap right after the start of the CV reeework, which made me drop nearly 0.5% or so from 99.8 to ~99.3 or so... but apart from that I see CoOp as only a challenge about "who sinks the needed ships for the mission first".. So for my day to day playing I still prefer random battles, although I notice recently that all the potatoness makes it through my defenses and the "Ah well, with a team like that we will lose the battle anyway, so why bother to try - I'll just yolo like a good little potato, too..." -
So... that guy managed to achieve what he wanted, right? On the other hand: one post by OP in this thread. Tons of other people discussing nonetheless. If I would be that successfull when attempting to troll, I'd be happy...

Are the tokens for the Italian campaign rather generous?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Camperdown's topic in General Discussion
I don't care about the pretty *cough* and utterly historically *cough* camos. As it looks, a lot of the grind can be done in CoOp, so I just see how far I get and use the token for whatever I can get for them except the italian camos... So.. Yeah, doesn't look that much different than the previous "new line release" grinds -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
The day when I proved that there is russian bias in the game... Really, I made it... Played 11 battles today. Six in russian ships. All were won, even I played abysmal in some of those battles.... Played five battles in other nations ships and only managed to win three of them, and I had to play at least slightly better than average to achieve that... So proof!!! Russian Bias at work!!! Slightly serious though: I managed to win a Ranger battle while doing more than 100k damage (106k in fact...) which rarely happens to me usually. I mean, on the rare occasions when I manage to break that 100k barrier, I usually get rewarded with the brain-dead team that manages to throw the game faster than I can sink ships or/and do damage... This time the battle (T7 battle btw) ran the full 20 minutes. The lead changed a couple times. About five minutes before the end my poor little Ranger was slowly sunk by the surviving two enemy ships (two BBs). A minute later the enemy CV was blapped by one of the two surviving ships (BBs) of "my" team, putting the enemy team behind about 50 points or so. To win the battle, they had to enter out cap (Standard battle) which brought them before the guns of a 30% (or so) Cavour. Which needed three salvos to sink the enemy BB... which luckily had HE loaded for it's first return salvo... sooo enemy BB goes BOOM... 10 seconds later the battle ends.. cheering and a wild clapping of hands everywhere... Yeah, I did my part. 106k damage, 2 enemy ships sunk, enemy BBs harassed when the wanted to cap, so they decided to rather leave the cap and go after that CV annoying them... 4.6k PR as the reward... I had more fun playing my Gnevny though, even I got thrown into a T8 battle - but sans CV luckily - in which I even managed to outspot (!!!) some US DD and was able to use an island to make a nice torpedo run against an enemy Nagato... even got me a Devstrike Award for that one... it was my only sinker though, but 51k damage and 3.5k PR in this win... Another funny battle came in my Comte de Cavour has high tier BB (among others) on Strait Standard Battle, in which I frustrated an enemy Minkaze by blapping it from about 5km about 2 seconds before it could have been able to fire some torps at me - which would probably sunk me, due to previous damage - only to face an FurryTaco on the other side of my ship a load delay later, and managing to blap it before was able to turn enough to launch the second torp spread, after the first had missed me, due to me being a sneaky basterd who uses the wasd hack.. Didn't help against a BB that managed to sink me a bit later, but still I got away with a win, 2 sinkers, 33k damage and 1.9k PR. Guess tomorrow I will get the usual potato teams and a <50% winrate day again...
