There'sno need to do anything. I've got a rate of 4% draws - doesn't seem too much to me. People who have a higher % of draws might want to check their playstyle.

Das mag der Punkt sein... ich seh i.d.R. immer nur ein paar Schiffe des Nord-Ost Teams dort auftauchen.. zwei-drei Kreuzer, ein-zwei BBs.. wenn man die dann gut auffängt und zurückdrängt, kann man fein über B nach Norden fahren. -

Also ich würde zu gerne mal ein Gefecht von 12 vs. 12 CVs erleben -
Heute gabs auch wieder ein Klasse Beispiel von Hirnriss... Karte: Brothers, Standardgefecht. Unser Team startet ohne CV, die anderen haben einen... Trotzdem sehen sich zwei von drei DDs und drei unserer fünf Kreuzer genötigt einen Rush durch die Mitte zu versuchen... also, gleich zu Beginn.. Ich war mit meiner Aoba zur rechten Flanke aufgebrochen und konnte mir Kommentare nicht verkneifen... Zuerst, als die Kolonne in die Schlucht einfuhr, schrieb ich "Bye, bye DDs, bye bye cruiser" in den Chat. Und kurz danach noch die Frage, ob eine Gehirnamputation eigentlich wehtut... Wie erwartet endete der Ausflug in die Schlucht für die meisten Schiffe ziemlich abrupt und unter Wasser. Ein Kuma konnte sich retten, machte sich dann die Mühe in meine Richtung zu fahren und mich im Chat anzuschreiben - aber nur mit einem "Hey, Deckeru..." bevor er eine Salve Torpedos knapp an mir vorbeischoß... also kurz vor den Bug. Ob er mich nun aus Absicht oder Unvermögen verfehlt hat, kann ich nicht sagen. Auch bei der zweiten Salve nicht, die knapp hinter mir vorbeiging. Jedenfalls hat er noch was von "blah..blah..blah... Warnung" geschrieben. Hat mich aber nur Peripher tangiert, da ich schon damit beschäftigt war die Gegner abzuwehren, die jetzt durch die Schlucht unseren Cap angriffen... Merke: Kasperköppe und Gehirnamputierte trifft man unter den tollsten Umständen...

Had that one, too, while driving around in battles and once right after game start when the harbour was loaded. Support told me to reinstall. Wrote a bug report and got told, that "there's quite a high difference in the ping data shown in the python.log you send us. Please run a ping test for at least 10 minutes at the time when the game crashes." Considering that the crash also crashes the graphic card driver, so only a full system reboot lets me play on, and the fact, that I'm not sure what the bolded part of the error message has to do with my system - no S:\ on my system, no sir - I don't expect the internet connection to be the troublemaker here.

Consider this: in the Independence I've even magically got 100% WR And yes, I'm about equally bad in all other classes. But at least I do play ALL classes. And I play other classes more than I play CV.- 90 replies

...says the player with 0 (zero) matches in a CV. I got my shiny new Independence today. Did seven battles with her. One battle - I was only CV. Won, but sunk only one ship, as I was low tier and there were T7 and 8 BBs and Cruisers sticking together... One battle - I stood against another Independence. Won and did some nice exp on the way. FIVE battles - I stood alone vs. a Tier 6 CV and a second CV of Tier 5. Won all those battles. Survived four of them. Got nice exp most of the time. Of those seven matches only one was what could be called "easy" - all the others took quite a lot effort to win/survive... much more, than in most battles I do with all the other classes.- 90 replies

First real rage-quit! How to overcome carrier abuse?

Hosho is ill suited to handle two opposing CVs. It gets better with the Zuiho. But I prefer US CVs when against multiple CVs, because of the fighters. Even in basic setup - 1 fighter squad, 1 torpedo squad - Langley and Bogue can shoot down quite a few planes and still have the power to sink a ship or two. With my brand new Independence - 1/1/1 setup - I had FIVE games today, in which I stood against two enemy CVs alone. Independence & Bogue, Independence and Zuiho, two Bogues, Ryujo and Zuiho (that one was TOUGH!) and Ryujo and Langley... I managed to win all of those (with sometimes A LOT of help from the teams I was with!) although sometimes I didn't deal as much damage as I would have wanted to. One thing, when you are alone against two CVs is, that you have to move... move with the major part of the team, use them as your shield, so that enemy planes have to pass them to get to you and so you always have a spot were to get in a favourable air combat. And you have to go for targets of opportunity. DDs, Cruisers and BBs - anything that is easy and fast to reach is a potential target. Cruisers and DDs can of course be tricky to hit with TBs - but you still can help your team, by making them drive in a straight line, when they try to evade the torpedoes you dropped behind them... -

Ah... that's the reason my stats with BBs are so bad, especially with the Kongo. Ah well, I will continue to one-shot cruisers if they are careless enough to show me their broadside at <15 km range -

Best game today? With my new - near stock, basic setup - Independence vs. a Zuiho and a Ryujo. I sunk only one ship. The Ryujo. We were the last two ships on the map. He had two TB and one or two DB squads left. I had a squad of four fighters and a squad with 4 DB left. Time was running out fast. I had managed to move to the enemy cap, but I could see it would be a very close one. Any damage and it would end as a draw, or a loss when he'd sunk me. My fighters were halfway between us, waiting for his attack, My DBs were attacking him. He had just killed our last BB, that even had managed some shots at him. Bombers attack... HIT... one fire broke out... his Bombers were flying right beside mine on the way back... set my fighters on them... then... "You destroyed an enemy aircraft carrier" He burned down. Had used his repair when the BB had shot at him. And with that, my series of wins - 7 in the first 7 games with the Independence! - was kept alive. In ONE of those seven games my CV was the only CV in the battle. In another ONE of those games, there were two CVs on each side. In the other FIVE games, it was me against TWO CVs, with one of them being the same tier, the other one tier lower... -

If there's a chance to still win - I'll try my best. If not, but there's a chance to cause a draw, I'll try to cause a draw. If there's no chance to win or draw, I try to not get sunk - I'm a miser, so I don't like to pay more for repairs than I absolutely have to. -

Jepp... Ansagen wie "Alle nach xx" oder "Hey, Kreuzer xyz fahr mit dem Schlachtschiff" führen eher zu Unmut... Wenn man sowas mehr als Vorschlag formuliert - "Vielleicht sollten wir nach xx fahren.." oder "Wäre es sinnvoll, wenn sich Kreuzer zu Schlachtschiffen gesellen? Xyz zu Zyx vielleicht?" - fühlen sich die Leute nicht "herumkommandiert" sondern denken, sie könnten selbst entscheiden, wenn ihnen in Wirklichkeit die Entscheidung quasi vorgegeben wird.. Ist das wieder so eine "Metagame" Sache? Die kapiere ich nämlich nicht... Hab auf der Karte z.B. als "Süd-West" Team schon recht oft gewonnen... oder als "Nord-Ost" Team verloren... Sieg und Niederlage entscheidet sich m.E. eher anhand der beteiligten Spieler, nicht der Karte selbst... -
Ich hab von mittags bis zum Nachmittag auch überwiegend gute Erfahrungen mit Teamplay gemacht. Klar, gibt immer Ausnahmen, aber die Totalversagerteams kommen so 1 auf 10 Gefechte. Auch der Chat ist - in der Regel - recht gesittet. Naja, um die Uhrzeit ist vermutlich weniger Alkohol im Spiel als Abends...

Naja, Leute sind unterschiedlich... Wenn Du mal eine Warspite oder Kongo schnurstracks gerade auf Dein BB zulaufen siehst, dann stellst Du eventuell fest, das Upgrades und Kapitänsskills durchaus einen Unterschied machen. Wenn die Sekundärbewaffnung statt bei fünf schon bei sieben km loslegt, dazu mit erhöhter Treffgenauigkeit, sind das einige zusätzliche Treffer, die das Ziel einstecken muß... Dazu dann vielleicht noch der Standardfehler des ZIels: Breitseite zeigen (weil man dann ja mehr Geschütze einsetzen kann ) und zu dem "Feuerhagel" aus den Sekundärgeschützen kommen dann noch die Zitadellentreffer durch die Hauptgeschütze.. Ich würde zu gern mal die Gesichter der Spieler sehen, deren BBs ich auf die Weise schon versenkt habe -
Jepp, echt übel, daß da nur eine Seite einen DD hat. Da MUSS doch irgendwann mal was getan werden...

Yeah, the underlined... should have read "..I play CV, too..." 'cause I play ALL classes more or less equally and fail to see the OP'ness of CVs. In the Arkansas Beta I still play I yet have to be sunk by one torpedo attack by the two Hosho TB squads. But probably I do something that keeps me from experiencing it... like.. not driving ahead in straight line for 20 minutes or so...- 90 replies

Add to that the different length of targets. Most US BBs are rather short compared to the IJN BBs. So we get this situation (releasing torpedoes at 90° at broadside, target driving straight ahead and not evading (standard situation *cough*)): Single IJN TB squad releasing it's FOUR torpedoes against an IJN BB will hit it with TWO torpedoes mostly. Single IJN TB squad releasing it's FOUR torpedoes against an US BB will hit it with ONE torpedo, unless the BB is lucky and get's into the slot between two torpedoes, so they pass it bow and stern. Single US TB squad releasing it's SIX topedoes against an IJN BB will hit it with FIVE torpedoes mostly, but even six is possible. Single US TB squad releasing it's SIX torpedoes against an US BB will hit it with THREE to FOUR torpedoes mostly. -
What's the second common denominator in that scenario... I mean, apart from the map being Brothers.... Oh, yeah... it's YOU...

Maybe... WG should just get some defensive setupa for ALL ship classes? So all players could freely choose to either do damage or play for the team... I bet MANY BB players would love to have to chance to trade off their ability to one shot cruisers for something more usefull for their team, right? I mean, RIGHT???
