Please make sure You take a really good look at Orion, too. In my not so humble opinion it is at least as OP as the Imperator Nikolai - to stay at the same Tier - and we know what happened to that ship... Right now I guess the Orion is the Prime Choice for sealclubbers (like me...)

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
After a couple good, mediocre and bad battles in other ships, I took my Blyskawica for a ride. When the MM showed I though "OMeffingG - another T9 battle..." and (if I recall correctly) three DDs per side, T9, T8 and poor little me... Ok, I HAD the second best concealment of all ships. But really, T9? Why, oh RNGesus, why did You leave me? Right from the beginning I was RadioPositioned, so I took a course away from the cap to the map edge, but made sure I stayed ahead of the allied DD close to me, so he could get to the Cap undetected. Worked great... As soon as he was in the cap, I changed my course and sneaked closer to it again... and was able to add some nice firesupport againsttwo enemy DDs trying to push our DD out... Noticed an enemy Kutusov near the cap, trying to creep back behind an island, but failing and then smoking up. Send some torpedoes on their way and - after smoking up myself - fired some blind shots at the spot where the Kutusov was supposed to linger. Scored some hits and set it burning and soon after that there was a nice, satisfying Boom when some of my torps hit... seems the Kutusov had doused the fire immediately, because a bit of flooding later I got my first kill of the battle. For the rest of the battle I found me being one of the main targets of the enemy. But the Polish Blitz is good at shooting from a very long range, setting up fires and wiggling it's behind. And even at T7 and 8 and 9 there are a lot of straight-sailing BaBBies around. So in the end I came up with 163k damage done - 60k or so due to torpedo hits, 30k fire and 20k floodings - and four sunk ships... two of them nice, phat BBs... When trying to get the Kraken I got a bit too aggressive though and the last surviving enemy DD managed to take me down. Didn't help his team though, as we were way ahead, held two of three caps and our last three BBs weren't BaBBies but played it cool... -
Stuff like that is the reason why PT is utterly useless. 90% of the people playing on PT don't really test the changes, but play there to test out ships they have not yet reached on the live server. WG should make the test server invitational and include some sorting mechanism, like win rate and number of battles played during the last couple months or somewhat like that to make sure, that people who get on the test server really TEST new stuff.

You forgot "would love to play my Kamikaze R with that MM" -
cro, you nasty, nasty person... I see what You did there
-
hmmm... so either You are very, very, VERY old - even older than me in fact, which would mean >57 - OR you are from a technologically backward country, where stuff like that still was used while the civilised world already used CDs for data storage...

Orion is probably even more OP then then Conquerer. Just check server stats for BBs from T3 to T7 and see that it does on average (!) more damage (46k) than seven (!) T6/T7 ships. Until some real bad luck with teams * hit me, even I as an average BB player had an average damage of 70k+ over the course of 15 battles in it, which was reduced to only (!) 59k now. * "bad luck with teams" - time for some aluminium hat logics: my winrate in the Orion was at 75% and average damage at >70k over 15 battles. Since then, I got the worst weekend teams ever right in the middle of the week and my average damage and winrate dropped significantly. Is there a secret MM mechanism, that puts you into pure potatoe teams when your stats are too good?!?

Well, You are a Unicorn. So whatever You do in any ship is probably to be considered sealclubbing :P -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Ok, my current "Mission" is do somewhat around 200k damage (or so...) and shoot down 20 planes over any number of battles with a T4 ship. Nice and sleazy, I thought.. The 200k damage were easy and I had them done fast, but only one plane was shot down. So I took out my Yubari. And - hurray! - there even was a CV in the enemy team... And all I got was one... lousy... plane... not even from that CV, no, it was a scout or something. Ended up with a win, two sinkers and 84k damage though... Okay, Yubari didn't work out - lets try the ultimate skyscraper: Cleveland with AA setting... Two games and in neither was a CV. Add to that, that all enemies seemed eager to get out of my way to get shot at by others. So I managed two wins with an average damage of - tadaa - 9870 pts done. One on the Neighbours map, where I even ended in the enemy cap (with two BBs accompanying me). Gneisenau... usually THE plane magnet. And again, no CV in the battle... 62k damage and a win though, not too bad. So, as a final measure, I took my Hosho for a ride. It only has a 6 pts captain or so, so it's not REALLY sealclubbing... at least that's what I tell myself... Of course, 74k damage is a bit clubbinglike... and I only got 14 planes, so the mission wasn't done yet. Total was now 16 planes, so I needed another 4. Didn't want to play the Hosho again. I like to spread my games around all my ships, so I took the Langley instead. No, also no experienced captain. Yeah, he has 10 pts and the extra fighter/bomber skill (I think...) but hey, with a 10 pts captain in a Langley (!!!) it isn't really sealclubbing... Although, this time I ended in a two CV per side game. With two Langleys (one of them mine) against a Hosho and a Langley. And boy did we kick their a.... uhm.. donkeys. It felt, as if I was playing in a division with the other CV player. And as if we were coordinating our actions on teamspeak or whatever. As soon as an enemy bomber group showed up, both of our fighters were there to shred it. Whenever enemy fighters tried to get to our bombers, they were intercepted by one of us with the second fighter squad going in for the kill just seconds later... So, no wonder, we both got a good share of damage done and kept the enemy CVs from achieving anything. 51k damage in a Langley isn't too shabby. Only one sinker though, but that was a DD right at the start of the battle. And - wait for it - 21 planes shot down. My partner in crime shot down another 20. So in the end, both enemy CVs were completely out of planes, while we could happily hunt and scout. And the mission was finally done! (as usual, no screenshots but at wows numbers (check the details) you can see the data.) -
WG also has said, that they want to address the problem of BB overpopulation. WG has said quite a few things already, which didn't really work out as intended. Fact is, this smoke nerf does hit those classes hardest, that are a threat to BBs. Only a very small amount of BB players will be even noticing a change. But probably ALL DD and RN Cruiser players will notice it. And for them it will be a nerf. Classical example of WG saying one thing and doing whatever else...

I can assure You that at least up to T8 this is not the fact. Potatoes are potatoes, no matter what tier they play. If one wants fun play with a lot of action going on, using a T5 DD (which will get you into T7 battles with many tasty T7 BaBByseals) is the way to go. The "endgame" at T10 is full of Pussywagons and way too static to be fun... And at T5 to 7 the Minekaze is the ship to use. 3x2 spread and reload is better than 2x3 on the Mutsuki. Four guns are better than two. And that 1 km more torp range and the speed don't really make that much of a difference when you know what to do.

Not a french cruiser and no furniture, but the Perth has a Dropbear on board.

That is just utterly amazing! Reminds me of a story I once read by a guy working as a sys admin in the Good Old Days tm, when Harddiscs were the size of nowadays washing machines. He wrote they regularly had competitions about who could write the best program to do read/write actions on the HD to make it build up momentum - by speeding up and stopping in a certain rhythm - so that the whole apparatus would start to slide over the ground. Once they even had a competion - with bets going on and stuff - with two HDs sliding to a goal line, betting on which one would reach it first. They had to stop that fun when one HD managed to get stuck in a doorframe though...

Well, Katori is the fat little sister of the slim beautiful Yubari... Katori just hobbles along and Yubari has to dance and wiggle her slim behind a bit to not suffer unwanted penetrations. I noticed, that when sailing around in the Katori you often get ignored as a target... seems some people don't see her as a threat until it is too late. I even managed torpedo "runs" - well, rather "torpedo slow walks..." - twice during the last two days, sinking two BBs which had me in plain sight, but rather shot at other targets (in one case even a DD that was several km further away from the BB than my Katori was). Result was a 74k damage done battle today. Might be that the amount of babyseals has grown...
-
They should just make them like they were in reality. AFAIK they served great as stationary harbour defenses. Would fit the current BB meta - Borderhumping and missing shots at maximum range - perfectly.

Not even a real floppy disc, but the novel way to adhere it to the fridge deserves over 9000 internets!

Floppy Disc? Noob! I was there when one had to store data on those magnetic tapes... The famous C64 Datasette See, I knew that before you posted it

No discussion needed. No "Handicap Mode" needed. MM does that already by randomly assigning potatoes to the teams. That's enough handicap already.

Kamikaze R: what is all fhe fuzz about?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in Destroyers
I consider everything ABOVE T8 as boring crap, because of the utterly static meta. Even when I end up with one of my T8 ships in a T10 battle I usually make it to the top 5 scorers just because of even the cruisers acting like pussywagons at T10 And yes, I can't understand the hype about the Kamikaze either. My stats are just marginally better in her than in my Minekaze, even though I usually have my 19 pts captain in it, when I take it out to club some T7 BaBByseals... -
My Katori Experience today: Played my Katori once. Met tons of nice suicidal babyseals. Clubbed happily along. Game was won. Got a Kraken. Did 110k damage. And I even assisted in a cap. Played Orion later. Had two Katori on enemy team - at least one freshly bought one - and ended up sinking one of them. It nearly broke my heart, when the mass of high caliber HE penetrated that little fellow..

Obtain Oil and Build Structures!
Deckeru_Maiku replied to ThePopesHolyFinger's topic in General Discussion
My problem with this Oil Resource is, that all the oil I theoretically earned NOW probably will not be there when I get into a clan LATER. -
I guess all the BBs around your ship have the same problem. There is an easy solution though: you just have to uses the WASD keys to move your ship closer to the position where the enemy ships start. Sooner or later you will see lots of ships then.

110 k damage done Kraken done did assist a cap in a Katori. No screenshot, just check my wow numbers recent data (click details) -
134 battles done in it. And loving each and every one of them. Finestkind sealclubbing!
