What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Stupid? No. Just way too salty -
Situation might differ, but rule #1 always stands: don't torp from 2nd row. Everybody not following that rule should be punished by having to play at least 100 WoT T10 battles in a T5 tank before he is allowed to play WoWs again.

And You think that would help? Seen too many BBs getting killed when angled by AP shots at the right places -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

So You would be less salty, if he had sunk You with AP? I tried to get the Tag der Deutschen Einheit (Day of German Reunification) missions done today... 15k basic Exp for some camos... so I only played german ships today... Two battles with the V-170 netted two wins with an average of 44k damage and a total of 7 sinkers (no Kraken) 15 battles total (most ~T4/5/6 - weren't enough for those 15k base Exp, but there's another day for it tomorrow. And without weekendpotatoes the last ~5k should be done easily. -

Wir fordern endlich Personalisiertes Gameplay
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Krustenkaese2012's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

met @22cm in a battle today. Forgot to ask him if his nick is because of caliber or chamber length. Forgot to +1 him. Try to forget the battle, too. -

All action in Kamikaze Sisters (Kamikaze, Kamikaze R and Fujin) counts as automatic sealclubbing, even when you are the only lowtier in a T7 battle. Itchy Suzi is a really nice firestarter, but her AP is also quite nice. She's a bit more squishy than a MOO (Master Of Orion) and the MOO's heal is better (IMHO). But experienced players facing off in those two ships would make for an interesting duel. And yes, I also use quite a lot AP in the Orion... as soon as an enemy BB shows me Broadside at ~10 km or when I see a mentally challenged Cruiser showing me broadside. HE is more to... warm the opponent up a bit and make him burn his repairs.

When one cap is phat with radar and planes there's usually two others that aren't. Go there. Let the radar cruisers be the problem of your allied cruisers and/or BBs... Patience and a more tactical approach to the game help a lot...
-
*cough* with enough experience you WILL know how the battle probably ends right after the first two or three minutes of the battle... long before the opponent is visible.

The thread title should be changed to "manual drop is not needed for sealclubbing" on T4 and 5 the lack of strafing makes for a much more less stressful gameplay. Not having to observe every single drop and guess the proper torpedo activation ranges and bomb drop ellipsoids makes playing the game more enjoyable when sealclubbing.

The only way to be "bottom tier" in the CV matchup is when there is two CVs on each team. So let the other - T5 - CV in your team busy himself with the enemy T5 planes. Try to help him in fighter/fighter combat. Move your bombers more passively and retreat, if the enemies T5 fighters go after your planes. Play intelligent. That usually helps a bit. Oh and the "sweet spot" for BBs isn't Bellorophon... it's The Orion.

A-poi-calypse Now II: the death of torpedo boats
Deckeru_Maiku replied to dasCKD's topic in Destroyers
so... only about 70% of the BB population of all tiers, right? And 40% of the Cruisers... and at least 10% of DD players... (source: personal experience)- 107 replies

nah.. the Gn should be pronounced like the Gn in Gnarf! And yeah, some might pronounce it with the rather hard german version of the english "Tee-aitch", which usually gives a german away as a german... "Zat is ze way to do it! We haf wayz to make you talk" like in the old Hollywood movies

& Had my first Nikolai 1 today as an opponent. My first salvo from ~12 km set up some nice fires. In return I took a AP salvo, which reduced my HP by around 30% but half of that could be repaired. And the Nikolai doused the fires and repaired just for my second salvo setting it aflame again. It then turned away from me - as expected, so I had readied AP for the next salvo - but at that moment an alled DD interfered and stuck two tropedoes into the Nikolai. So my next - AP - salvo did sink it. The player of the Nikolai had written in chat that he hadn't played for a while and that it was the first time he faced RN BBs. I guess an experienced player (in this case: experienced when facing RN BBs) probably would do a lot better. But in my not so humble opinion the MOO has good chances to take down a Nikolai in a 1-on-1 After 22 battles - and a couple of really bad games with a combination of potatoes as team and me adapting to their low level and playing like a noob - my winrate in the MOO is at 68% with an average damage of 60k (only 1k less than in my Bismarck) and 1.45 kills/battle (which is 50% more than in any other of my BBs from Tier 4 to 8) In two won battles today I did 125k damage total and sank 5 ships. Add to that some severely crippled Cruisers and DDs... So, yes, the MOO gets the Sealclubber's Seal Of Approval - Ship Of Choice - Award from me.

Please, it's not Gnesi... the ship's name isn't Gnesenau or Gnesinau... it's Gneisenau. So it has to be Gneisi. For all those englishers it is pronounced Gneye_the_now

For me russian BBs are as vital for the game as belgian CVs

This exactly... the good thing about radar is, that it has a lot lower runtime than hydro for example. So if you can manage to have the enemy "burn" his use of radar, then you are free to move where you want for a while.

Just think of the old saying: "If you can't beat them, join them!" and get Yourself an Orion, too. Then You can feel utterly unbeatable just to get shot into smithereens by either another Orion with a more experienced player on the wheel or about all other T4 BBs with more experienced players on the wheel or by cruisers with more experienced players at the wheel... at least DDs will only take You down with torpedoes... as will experienced CV players... Thing is, as already said, 900 battles isn't that much. And Your BB stats show, that You do below average damage while surviving more than the average number of battles. Check Youtube for some nice "How to sail a BB" videos and learn... learn... and learn some more. Then even the Orion will lose a bit of the fear it imposes on You right now... And as long as the Orion is dumb enough to not use any islands to break Your targetting. A GOOD player in a Phoenix has a chance to take on an Orion. Until he gets hit. Phoenix can't take many hits from an Orion, when the first salvo already damages/destroys some torpedo tubes, damages the engine and/or steering and puts it on fire. Press repair button and pray that in 30 seconds you're far away enough to evade at least the next salvo... Orion + Experienced Player = Finestkind Sealclubbing...

A good battle in the Leander did it for me. 150 main gun hits, two cruiser kills...

Do you use "Adrenaline Rush" Captain skill on your BBs?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Seems I'm one of the "special snowflakes" again, as I consider the skill as quite useless (for my playstyle) even though I do like to get close and nasty with my BBs. Thing is, it gives the most advantage when You're close to getting sunk and I rather have a skill, that gives me an advantage over the whole course of a battle. Not using this skill probably is the reason why I'm only a mediocre BB player and not a Unicorn
