Totally my fault, no way it was the team, right? RIGHT?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
Totally your fault because of playing a T9. That's advanced masochism at work. Compared to that playing T4 to T6 only today gave me a 83.33% SOLO winrate. -
Did that mission three times now. One loss, a 2 star win and last a 4 star win. First battle (yesterday) with the DD was a chaos and a loss, with a BB camping at the portal and all others getting taken out one after another... Today I tried the cruiser with a AA spec and it didn't work too bad. I didn't survive 'til the end of the battle, but it was a win, alas a close one... For the next battle I took the BB and pressed it into a secondary build, but with the modul for longer main gun range. In this battle a 3 man division showed up and everything went kinda smooth... I sailed around at the edge of The Dirt and let my secondaries do most of the work with the small ships, while my main guns and torps were used against BBs and the Ra-ra-rasputin... The only thing we didn't manage was to sink the Gorgon... So in the end I managed to get a total of 4 containers up to now... Camo for Kagero and Nassau (one I don't own yet, one I don't own anymore and probably won't rebuy, due to having Prince Albert in the port...) and some flags and normal camos...

Well, the Kami R was available from a event. No need to buy it... And as a funny fact: on my second account - the one rarely but only used for clubbing babyseals - I was offered to buy a Kamikaze (not R) even after it was officially withdrawn from the shop in the form of a "after battle special offer" in the game. Which, of course, I immediately accepted, as I didn't have the Kamikaze or Fujin on that account already.

Wouldn't work, as there are probably quite a few players - like me - who don't give a flying eff about any "social media" versions and neither have Failbook, Tweeter or any other of those social personal advertisement applications. Fun fact: everyone with at least half a working braincell would be able to guess my real name from my account name and be able to google it

upcoming smoke change for british cruisers, why?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to elblancogringo's topic in General Discussion
I think I'm not too shabby in RN Cruisers (at T6) but even I sometimes manage to slip out of my smoke by a slight miscalculation (or panic reaction...) so for me it's QoL improvement -
Super Container Loot Thread [ topics merged ]
Deckeru_Maiku replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
First and only time ever I got a ship from a supercontainer, it also was the Crusty Creme... Not that there would have been nearly a dozen other ships I don't have yet... Felt so super... not! -
upcoming smoke change for british cruisers, why?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to elblancogringo's topic in General Discussion
It might be a help in panic situations. Getting spotted when going full speed you... press smoke button set speed to full reverse set rudder to "away from enemy" start praying to RNGesus that the first enemy salvo misses... (& sacrifice a virgin when one is available...) In the end it's just a "Quality of life" change, nothing really needed, but it makes smoking up as a RN cruiser a lot easier (and noobfriendly...) -
Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
I bet that was just a misunderstanding... It was supposed to be: CV players should better take a(nother) year off. -
It's a cunning plan - as cunning as one of Baldrick's plans - by WG to reduce the BB overpopulation. It's like fighting a forest fire by setting other parts of the forest on fire... only in this case, it's the BBs that are burning
-
No, it's a potato thing... especially if You start firing HE with Warspite. RN BBs have nasty HE, that's right... but they are even more effective if the player knows when not to use HE but AP. Especially with the MOO (Master of Orion) I taught quite a few other Orion players a nasty lesson, by stuffing some nice phat AP shells in their broadsides...

From The Devs Blog: ST Ship Stats Changes
Deckeru_Maiku replied to iJoby's topic in General Discussion
And that right after I got it from a supercontainer... yay! Now I might even be tempted to really do battles with that wreck it. -
I see what you did there...

The Red October is quite ugly and in my opinion not really worth to put too much effort in it. So don't be too sad if You don't get it. And yes, all these "get xxx exp in a mission" missions are easier the higher the tier you can play. I think (!) I did that 1600 exp mission in a T6 (Leander or Perth.. not sure anymore) after not getting it done in a Bismarck, Mogami, Benson (all T8) and several T7 ships. For me getting the last mission of that current weekly mission thingy done - "get 1800 base exp in a single mission with a T6+ ship" - was a real pita. Finally managed it today (last chance I think...) with a 120k damage done battle in my T7 Akatsuki, in which I also managed to get two caps or so and made 1900 exp... After failing for three days and about 40 battles in all my T6 to T8 ships. So work on your skills, get higher tier ships and wait for the next ships that can be reached by doing a mission chain - probably they are more worth it than the Red October

smoke "changes" are a lie @ 0.6.12
Deckeru_Maiku replied to _Graf___Zahl_'s topic in General Discussion
As this change hits BBs the most - like suddenly being attackable even as there is smoke 10 klicks ahead of them and them not even being in it derserving a penalty because of smoke camping and suchlike - WG will surely do it's utmost to revert these negative aspects of the change in the near or very near future to make BaBBies happy campers again. -
You are wrong, WG did it right, as a historical picture shown in a different part of the forum has shown. I support this! And please give us an option to sort our captains by certain criteria, like skill points or ship class assigned to. Whenever I want to put my 19 pts captain from one DD to a premium DD I always have to scroll to the end of the list to find him.

0.6.12 Update 0.6.12 Feedback - Smoke mechanic change - Overall
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Kandly's topic in Archive
The new mechanic makes ships outside of the smoke for ships inside the smoke as soon as they fire and are within their "smoke gun bloom" range. Which is utterly stupid. Example: BB with smoke gun bloom of 15 km, DD in smoke BB (not shooting) <-10 km -> { DD in smoke } = result is that BB is invisible for DD BB (shooting) <- 10 km -> { DD in smoke } = result is, that the BB is visible for the DD, even if there is not other ship with LOS to the BB BB (shooting) <- 10 km -> { same team DD in smoke } <- 3 km -> { opposite team DD in smoke } <- 10 km -> opposite Team BB (not shooting) = result (I guess...) the shooting BB is visible to the opposite team DD, as it's smoke gun bloom reaches out to the opposite team's DD. Therefor it is also visible to the opposite team's BB although that one is outside of the 15 smoke gun bloom due to spotting mechanics?!? I'm enjoying playing DDs and RN Cruisers, but the above example looks extremely stupid to me... -
smoke "changes" are a lie @ 0.6.12
Deckeru_Maiku replied to _Graf___Zahl_'s topic in General Discussion
For me it proves that WG is not really testing their changes under "clinical conditions" (= training room) but probably just check them from the programmer's point of view (= soo.. we change this variable and it will turn out this result and all will be well...) I hope - although it is a very, very slim hope - that they acknowledge they effed up and return to the old mechanic, which also wasn't fully logical, but at least didn't penalise ships outside of the smoke for firing their guns... -
Well, there has to be a reason why she is called FU-buki

Proposal: Very simple idea how to help improve the WG WoWs for high tiers and indirectly help the MM!

utter ox feces. Just imagine all the pround T10 players that would fall through the sieve right now. -
smoke "changes" are a lie @ 0.6.12
Deckeru_Maiku replied to _Graf___Zahl_'s topic in General Discussion
The smoke mechanic wasn't very logical right from the start of the game, but this change utterly changes the whole intent of the smoke mechanic change. One of the main problems with this game: many players seem to understand the mechanics and the effect of changes better than WG themselves, it seems. During the discussion about possible effects of the mechanic change the above anomaly came up as a possibility quite fast. And nonetheless it made it into the game. As it effects BBs the most, I can't say I'm too sad about it. Nonetheless it is utterly stupid. -

Deckeru_Maiku replied to _Graf___Zahl_'s topic in General Discussion
Uhm... working as intended, I'd say. That was one of the things a couple people mentioned about being an utterly stupid mechanic, as soon as the "new smoke rules" discussion started when the new mechanic was announced. Just proves that the new mechanic has not really been thought through properly.... as was to be expected.
