WG and the prices of space (and other) texture changing perma camos
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Allied_Winter's topic in General Discussion
I am not even ready to spend € 30.- for a ship of any tier. About € 20.- is the maximum I would be ready to spend for a ship that interests me. Camo would have to be a lot cheaper to interest me. Many will say, that all the boni offered need to get paid for, but I would prefer historically realistic cheap camos without any boni, that just replace the optics of any ordinary camo available by any sources. -
WG and the prices of space (and other) texture changing perma camos
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Allied_Winter's topic in General Discussion
Don't care a bit about these camos and they will get turned off for me as all the other special camos that are already in the game. Some really historical camos would be nice. -
Quite a while they sold ships... several of which I bought. Premium I never bought, though I got a couple days here and there for free or from missions or whatever. Last time WG saw money from me is a while ago, though, as I don't buy russian ships.. or T8... or ugly ones... or those that are above € 20.- or so...

What is the biggest number of enemy ships you managed to sink in single "Random " battle since you started playing WoWs?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
7 is my magical number for Leander and Campbeltown. Don't think that happened more than once or twice, and with 60 Krakens in total the 5 or 6 kills aren't happening that often either. -
Maybe I found my personal special solution for "The Weekend Desaster": Just play lowtier ships... After the first battle today in my Ibuki it was obvious, that it would be "one of those" weekends again. Played my Ibuki once more and got a win, but then decided to try out a couple of my T2 to T3 ships, that sat in my harbor for quite a while already and have not been used. And guess what... playing ships like the Emden, Prince Albert, Campbeltown, Smith, Arkansas B, Vampire, St.Louis (yes, the T3 one...) etc. against the "Weekend Bunch" was a Sh*tload of fun. And I don't even had more than 10 pts captains in most of them... Who says the St. Louis can't cope with the new ships that came after her? Hah! 65k damage and six kills say otherwise! Could this be thought of as sealclubbing? Nah, not really... it's just a proper measure to face the weekend teams and still have some fun...

WG FFS fix CV MM or lose all normal players

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Somehow the - for me - most impressive battles in the last time come when I sail my... Krispy Creme. Winrate today was terrible for me - even though I had some good battles - but when I did my final battle of the day, for which I now often use the Krispy Creme, it ended with a win. And not only that... 87k damage done... 4 ships sunk... and I didn't even get sunk! -> https://wows-numbers.com/player/527881886,Deckeru_Maiku/progress/ (check details) The best was that three enemies - two cruisers and a BB - ignored an afk BB in their view and range and all tried to take me down instead... they failed, obviously, and got sunk themselves. Krispy Creme - a great way to blow away weekend frustration by going "dakka-dakka-dakka" from the start and through all the battle. -
What is it with Battleship HE spam??!?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to darkstar73's topic in General Discussion
Fun fact: when You know when to use AP with RN BBs they do even more damage, than when using HE only. -
What is it with Battleship HE spam??!?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to darkstar73's topic in General Discussion
Everybody always says "with RN BB started this" but that's just not true. Yes, RN BBs do it best... but potatoes since beta used HE an BBs nearly exclusively, because when shooting AP you need to know where to aim at to do damage. With HE it's "aim in the general direction of the enemy and hope you hit anything..." -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, the Yubari's fat little sister is a wee bit on the slow side... but the range of her lazerguns makes up for that. I like her quite a lot and with 55% winrate and 35k average damage she's one of my successful ships. It's just a totally different playstyle than almost any other cruiser. -

Deckeru_Maiku replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Told you in chat already: It's no sealclubbing if you do it in an Itchy Suzie. But yeah, today was a sealclubbing day... after doing all those French Gold missions done, and having to play more french ships than I would usually want to, it was time to give some fun ships a go.. Katori, Yubari, Mutsu and Ishizuki among others... 11 wins from 14 battles was nice... -
#1 - How about NOPE #2 - never happened to me, as usually I'm the one not quenching the fire and giggle happily when the idiot who shot at me goes down due to this mechanic.
-
Yeah, please stop torpedo missions. It's bad enough when BaBBies sail around in BBs, but when they try to torps something in a DD they are even uselesser than usual.

Battleships are reduced to targets
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Jack_the_Stripper's topic in General Discussion
some would see that as the definition of a BB... easy to hit and too dumb to shoot back -
And it's fun, too...

The argument for longer vs shorter games
Deckeru_Maiku replied to KarmaQU_EU's topic in General Discussion
A long, long, LONG time ago, there was this battleground in the other WoW game. Alterac Balley. Two strongholds, lots of sidequests and many players on each side... nowadays* teams just rush past each other and slaughter the NPCs guarding the strongholes and the faster slaughterer wins... usually takes less then ten minutes... sometimes less than five. But in the beginning, when WoW - the other one.. - still was fun and people played to have fun, not to gain virtual items, there were these battles that only ended because the server went down for a patch.. or maintenance.. The fights were fierce, and whenever a player had to drop out after a couple of hours, a new one entered the massacre... even during the night - the real night, not ingame night - the fighting never stopped. Geeks from all over europe slaughtered each other happily all day and night long. So... would something like this work in WoWs? A large, really, really large battlefield. With several bases to attack and conquer. As long as one side still owns at least one base, every player whose ship was sunk would be replaced by a new player (and the one who got sunk could join the queue again..). Ships would have to go to a base to repair and replenish their consumables. At random times small groups of NPC ships will arrive, to attack a base. Technically they'd belong to one of the teams, so only one side would have any reason to shoot at them. The battle would only end, when one side has conquered all bases and the last enemy ship has been sunk or when 5 minutes have passed after conquering the last base. Or when the server has to go down for an update or maintenance... I think this could be fun. -
More Battleship citadels - Wargamings "Intriguing Adjustment"
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Admiral_H_Nelson's topic in General Discussion
To sum it up: BBs take more citadels. Why should there be any reason whatsoever to change that? Even if BBs could be citadelled by 2 tier lower DD using HE that would be okay with me... -
I use the wide spread rarely. Sometimes when torping into smoke or when trying to do area denial.

Aigle marathon, how's your progress been so far?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Thanks... that comes from always having my AA disabled on DDs except when playing my Sims. -
Maybe a different approach is needed? As an experienced player, you expect the target to do some evasive maneuvers when he knows he is targeted and unconsciously you automatically adjust your aim to the spot where he probably will evade to. But the potato just sails on straight ahead and your salvo misses... The experienced player will of course evade and probably eat a lot of shells because of your aim being flawlessly on the point he evaded to. So, just face it, @MortenTardo, you are just too skilled for your own good.

Well, at least she HAS a rating of 8 at T6. Compared to many other DDs at that tier that is much, right? -
Battleships are reduced to targets
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Jack_the_Stripper's topic in General Discussion
On a map with three caps two DD per side would be optimal imho (as a DD player). My personal wishlist for how many ships per type should be in a battle: 3 BB max. 2 DD, maximum of 3 but same number on both sides 5 to 7 Cruisers, depending if there are (1 to 2 CV) Too bad that this will never happen, due to WG finding so interesting ways to fight the BB flood... -
Game complexity grows, game quality degrades?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
The problem with the playerbase getting worse comes not from the game having got more complex. It didn't. In fact, some parts of the game were made way too easy. The main problem with the playerbase is, that way too many players don't have the tinyest bit of knowledge of tactics. Zero... nil... none whatsoever. Even if they would know ship stats in and out, they would still be sheeples who just follow the herd, so they don't have to think for themselves. Because thinking might hurt. -
Proposal for increasing quality of gameplay
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Boris_MNE's topic in General Discussion
Interesting idea, but the only people that would really benefit from it would be those, who already play in a way that can be considered as "quality gamplay". All the others won't bother with some extra rewards, as it would mean they would have to do some reading on the forum and then some thinking about how to change their playstyle and then deciding that changing the playstyle would be stupid, as they might get shot at in game and they do good already anyway and who is WG to tell them how they should play.... And they don't even have the time to read all the info, because they are way to busy whining at the forum or at reddit or wherever because they get farmed by DDs/CVs/cruisers/BBs/aliens... There is no real way to change or educate a playerbase, that doesn't want to be educated and/or changed. -
Aigle marathon, how's your progress been so far?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Managed to finish it today. The part with the 4 torpedo hits and a win proved to be a bit complicated, as I managed only either four torp hits OR a win for about eight games. Until I managed a 15 torpedo hit, 120 damage done win in my Minekaze. The it was a couple more battles for the other mission, which I finished today. So.. over all... might be a bit hard for players who only play a couple battles every day... Edit: Oh yeah... impressions of the Aigle... Well... It's not really a DD, is it? Turns like a BB, good AA, fast guns... seems to me more like a british cruiser without a citadel. Not too bad, but probably hard to play for some players not used to the british cruiser playstyle. I wouldn't try to cap in it, even if I got paid for it though.
