What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

It happened again... Estuary map it was, and it was a Domination battle with me in my Dropbear lobbing Perth... With three caps and only two DDs per side - and a CV - I decided to go in the general direction of the nearest cap - A cap - and check if an enemy DD would go for it. Immediately some wiseguy yelled at me in chat "Don't rush in!!!!" which never was my intent anyway. Especially as an allied DD who had been placed better to go for B went to A instead. So I stopped behind an island, waiting for the DD to spot anything, which didn't take long. Smoking up I was able to get some nice hits done and kept an enemy cruiser from going after our DD and even made an enemy DD retreat, giving us the cap. Mr. Wiseguy in his Pepsicola had gone nearly to the western map edge then, accompanied by two BBs and another cruiser. Which was where he got sunk a short time later without achieving anything (#10 spot in the battle report) Then our CV spotted an enemy DD coming for him, so I changed course to intercept that DD and managed to make him retreat, too. He found out too late that hiding from a Perth isn't that easy and torping it needs some skill... In the end we won and I had managed two sinkers and 55k damage which got me among the first 3 in the battle report (forgot which slot exactly...) I really, really, REALLY love those guys talking gibberish in chat and then getting proved wrong... -

I really can't see why people seem to give a flying eff about what any of those interweb "personalities" say... I bet if those guys were to really publish every effing game they play and would sometimes get out of their Division Comfort Zone, they would suck about as much as most non interwebz personality players. -

Ice Islands, Domination mode. My ship: Yugumo Three DDs and three radar ships per team. I started on the eastern team, near the B cap. Right from the startI set course to the A cap, as trying to compete for the B cap would have been suicide. Instantly the chat read "WTF is Yugumo doing?" - "He doesn't know what he's doing..." blah.. blah... blah.. Except that I knew exactly what I was doing. I managed to keep some enemy ships spotted at A, which helped capping it. Instantly I set course on B and managed to spot and even sink an enemy DD when I entered B. Capped B, then set course to C. Stuck some torps in a damaged enemy BB and sank that, too. The game ended with a - clear - win and me doing 55k damage, two sinkers and with a 3063 WoWs Stats&Numbers rating. Yeah, well.. seems for once I knew what I was doing, right? -

Can we get an option to opt out of Epicenter?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to M0bius_One's topic in General Discussion
One of the few, yes... And the main problem with Epeencenter Mode is the same as on all other modes: Potatoes. And as people have to play that mode either russian - all rush middle and damn the torpedoes! - or with some brains, playing it like a potato means you play it wrong. Fun fact: I hate that battlemode... but I'm quite good at it -

Deckeru_Maiku replied to M0bius_One's topic in General Discussion
I, too, do hate Epeencenter Mode, as it is just utterly dumb and makes dumb players play even dumber, but... ...even more dumb. You can't allow them to "opt out" of only one mode. And allowing them to opt out of any mode they don't like would really mean long waiting times in the MM. -
Collaborative study of MM on Eu server
Deckeru_Maiku replied to gobolino's topic in General Discussion
I guess they would change their ways quite fastif enough players would leave the game stating the MM as their reason. Especially as it's EU where they - probably - make the most money -
Collaborative study of MM on Eu server
Deckeru_Maiku replied to gobolino's topic in General Discussion
No they don't, because how the eff would we - as players on the EU server - be interested in the %s on the other servers? We don't play there, so those %s are of no value to us and neither are WGs explanations that "over all servers" the %s are okay-ish. When You're house is burning you'd still want the fire department to come and stop the fire and not hear "Ah, it's okay.. the other three houses on your street are fine, so no need for us to do anything..." -
The only question one should ask all BB drivers would be: How can you survive in day to day life without having the tiniest bit of a brain?

I'm an Iggle anyway, but I hope Dasha gets desperate enough so that even more cloth is given up to motivate players to change... In the end, all those "rewards" are kinda useless anyway... I mean, who would sail around with one of thos fugly permanent camos anyway, right? Could only be an utterly neckbearded windowlicker...

Unicum players being rude IG, what to do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Linkaex's topic in General Discussion
All that "GG, HF, GL etc." is utterly overused IMHO. A "GG" usually appears in chat when the battle wasn't a good one at all. One team of potatoes gets annihilated and one of them types "GG" in the chat... what?!?! No, it wasn't a "good game" - it was an utterly stupid and unnessecary loss... And why should I wish my opponents "Have Fun" - their fun usually means I get sunk and/or lose the game. So no, the only one supposed to have fun is me! Same goes for "Good Luck" - it just means that I hope the opponents will be more lucky in sinking all the potatoes on my team!?!? Nope... If they want to sink them, then they should not be lucky but skilled... And as I've been playing computer games since the 80's and online games soon after, I consider myself a bit of a gamer - but not a nerd. And computer games never were "for nerds" - some nerds were computer gamers though.- 167 replies

Considering that the best thing about Jingles as a commander would be his voice, there shouldn't even be a competition... And I really don't understand why anybody would want to have any other commander, just because those people post some web videos... ah well... generation smartphone I guess... -
Not only it's a "good" map. It's the BESTEST map and the only one, that should be available to all tiers in different sizes, as it shows the battlefield that was used for most naval battles. Water. Lots of it. No bushes islands to hide behind. I love this map. I enjoyed each and every single time I played on it. I want it to be the only map for Epeencenter Battlemode. Seriously...

Iggles... Dasha just has the better... arguments.... *cough* and I hope she opens another button on that blouse next time to do some heavier recruiting... And of course, sharks are pussies... the real beasts of the sea are Orcas!

I'm a smurf then it seems... 'cause a while ago - 2 years or so? - I made me a second account - Deckero_Maiko - to see how starting tier gameplay was then, as my starting tier phase was in and right after beta. Wasn't that successful though.. only 60% winrate over 460 battles... not that much better than what I have in my other 10k+ battles.

No, a good player should beat an average player in a GC. An average player should be able to beat a bad player in a GC. Considering the amount of potatoes in the game of course means that a good player in a GC (or most other BBs) will have a fun time slapping potatoes, even when they come in higher tier ships... Sooooo.... as an clearly near unicornish level player, in which BBs do You HAVE problems with higher tier ships? And how often have You been dominated by a GC controlled by a potato? -

Lets see... what ships do I regularly play at T4/T5/T6/T7 that can meet the Caesar Salad... diverse DDs... (Kamikaze, Minekaze, Gallant, Aigle etc. etc don't really give a flying eff about a GC in the battle setup. Torp it and it sinks... diverse Cruisers.... (Yubari, Graf Spee, Königsberg, Perth) try to follow Monty Python on about How not to be seen.. not worse than hiding from other BBs... some other Cruisers (Southern Dragon, Fiji, Yorck) try not to be seen, but not as hard as the lower tiers... and finally the mighty Crispy Creme - find a rock and kill the GC with fire! BBs... execute Brain.exe. If brain.exe not found = get sunk. Else repeat until GC is sunk (by you, a DD, a CV, some cruisers or other BBs...) I really love these "OMG, this ship is soooooo OP.... nerfbat needed!!!" posts. In most cases it's not the ship, but the players that use it, which makes it's stats go up into the sky. -

Okay... due to some other things - RL things... - I only had time for three battles today... First was in Itchy Suzie... with Yamamoto on the wheel *coughsealclubbingcough* and it was a Standart battle on Pig Race... Did work quite nice at first... molested a St.Louis on long range with HE... got a BB burning also at long range... and annihilated a DD that got to cheeky... of course I have the fireworks turned off, so nobody really noticed the "First Blood" I got. Going through "Torpedo Alley" in direction of the enemy cap I managed to do a bit more damage and three more kills before I got sunk to a combination of flooding damage due to TB torps and HE spam by a DD... Nonetheless our team won shortly after that.. Four sinkers, 71k damage.. yeah, sealclubbing... Tried to go on with it in my Orion, but had to face a sealclubber division - Itchy Suzie, Arkansas B and a V 170 DD - and of course ran right into them... had to do a fighting retreat while those two BBs concentrated on me... the rest of "my team" - in lack of more fitting terms - managed to potate as only real potatoes can... I wasn't able to do too much myself, but I annoyed the sealclubbers some more before I went down... 54k damage, one sinker (poor little cruiser sticking it's nose out too far...) and a loss... Tried some more sealclubbing. So out went the Vampire.... One sinker, 51k damage and a 2335 pts WoWs S&N PR... but still a loss when I got sunk as the next to last survivor of our team... For once I didn't want to play the last game of the day in the Krasny Krim... probably would have been a horrible battle, too... like losing with a kraken and 100+ k damage in a T7 battle or so.. -

Well deserved penalty for not sailing straight at the enemy, ignoring all the shells, logic and reality, like a real window-licker should! Second day of the weekend saw me only doing six battles and winning four of them. First came a win in the Orion. Not too well played by me - 26k damage and a sinker - but a win... next followed two losses in Yubari and Kamikaze... Having to defend a whole flank solo in the Yubari against five enemies in a T5 battle isn't really going to work... And in a T7 battle even the Kamikaze can't do it all alone... Just to show that giving up is no option, I immediately took the Yubari for another ride. This time I fared a bit better - T5 battle again, but with a Langley on the enemy team which, when it saw me rushing in it's general direction, wasted eight divebombers in two attacks, scoring a single bomb hit... I already had sunk an enemy cruiser and now had that Langley in my range, but after several hits and setting it aflame three times our CV thought it necessary to torp it... instead of going for the cruiser and BB going after him without anyone being able to intercept them... well, it seems brains are really optional in this game... So with both CVs out and both teams down a couple more ships, I sailed full speed ahead to the only cap the enemies had managed to take (in this domination battle). There was a BB defending it (assisted by a DD with about 50hp left...) which kindly ignored me coming (and firing...) at it. The DD managed to get spotted and was my second sinker in the battle... and still the BB ignored me, shooting at a fatter target, still getting set aflame by me time after time... When it decided to give me some attention I was able to slip behind an island... and even could continue to spam HE.. shortly later that poor BB was torped by our DD and the game ended before I could a) cap or b) get another target in my sights... Yubari: 46k average damage (most of it in the second battle) and two sinkers (in the second battle... zero in the first, where I had to run, run, run, run away... oh oh oh ohhhh... Next battle was a Domination match on Solomon Islands map, starting in the north with my Itchy Suzie... I first went east towards C, but as both our DDs decided to go for B I just circled the island, went in and out of the cap doing so, and fired at two enemy ships - cruiser and BB - getting in my range without taking any damage myself, leaving the cap to two allied cruisers and a BB behind me... So while going past B I managed to annoy some enemy DD, Cruiser and BB by lobbing shots at them, while our DDs and a cruiser managed the cap and the sinkers... Heading straight west I faced two Caledons who thought it a good idea to engage me... one I did sink myself, the other - damaged one - was finished by an allied cruiser. Back towards the west I went, with a Courbet trying to block my way now, but ignoring me as a target and instead shooting at the poor little cruiser that assisted me... So I managed to rack up a bit of damage and finally was able to sink the Courbet, leaving the way to the A cap now open, with the last three enemy ships - all BBs - already getting attacked by some allies. When I finally got into B I also was in range for those three enemies.. but again I got ignored, so the cap - assisted by two cruisers - got through fast, which allowed me only two more broadsides at the enemy before the points reached the1000 mark... meh... so only two sinkers and 58k damage done... Last battle: Krasny Krim in a T7 battle - Domination on New Dawn , Southside - with only two DDs per side. So I immediately went to cap C... probably not the best idea, even though the enemy DDs went to A and B - like ours... - but still I managed to stumble into a Königsberg and an Emerald, both trying to give me some AP-lovin' Their problem turned out to be the rear-wiggling ability of the Krim and the fact, that I wasn't exactly without support... so while I did a looooooong U-turn, the two cruisers took a beating by those four ships that also had set sail to C, just a bit later than I had... In the end, I didn't cap, but after turning in the direction of the B cap I managed to annoy some more enemy ships and kept them from capping B... and again our team reached the 1000 pts before I could do some more nastiness... no sinker and only *cough* 32k damage but alive 'til the end and a win... okay for me... Seems not playing my few high tier ships on the weekend was - again - a good choice -

Weekend, lovely weekend... Somehow I managed to play like an utter potato - once again - always chosing the wrong flank to push with my BBs - Mutsu and Orion - or the wrong point to spot from - Kamikaze and Minekaze - or the wrong direction to retreat - Yubari... Nonetheless I somehow had teams that managed to win four out of seven... one loss, then a win in my Kamikaze... the first battle saw me playing dumb and getting sunk quite early. In the second I managed to make good for my mistake in the first one... In Minekaze I went spotting, only to bump into another sealclubber like me in a Minekaze... his support was more numerous than mine - about five to two.. - which turned out bad for me... A loss was the result.. one battle each in Orion and Mutsu... and both worked out about the same: I decided to go for one flank, had unexpected support and managed to break through, only to see all the action go on on the other flank, with my team annihilating the enemies there.. two wins, but not good results... In my Yubari I ended in a T5 battle without CVs, so I tried to hunt DDs.. managed to get one while also taking a cap, but got sunk when after taking a torpedo on my retreat I was left with only 38 hp.. and stumbled into the last surviving enemy DD. Nonetheless we were far ahead and it was another win. Best battle of the day was - once more - the last one in my Krasny Krim.. T6 battle... I managed to dodge a lot what was thrown at me, other than the rest of my team... in the end, the measly Crispy Creme had sunk two enemy ships and done 48k damage... while the rest of the team also sank two ships... total... No wonder when I went down as the next to last survivor the enemy had assembled enough points to win. Still only ended up as #2 on my losing team... So.. normal weekend again, I think... -
For me it looks as if playing a different ship breaks this rule... I'm quite positive I ended up in more than three T10 battles in a row when playing my different T8/T9 ship one after the other (often jumping to the next ship as soon as I got sunk...)
