0.7.8 Balance changes: Black Swan. Dear WG, please no.

*thinks about it... thinks again...* naaaah... I won't give up my sealclubbing expeditions in the lower regions... Matter of fact, due to newbie protection there ain't that many new players in lowest tiers anyway... probably more of them around T3 or 4, which probably is where their protection ends... and way too many then choose BBs as their main ships... and for that alone they deserve every bit of clubbing they can get

    Campbeltown

I've got the Cameltoe and regularly use it. No, You can't use it as a trainer for the coming RN DDs, as it's modus operandi is completely different. Most people here seem to think it is a bad ship, but even potato-ish me managed stats in it, that can be called "good" - over 30k average damage and a decent 60%-ish winrate over 50+ battles. So don't get fooled... it's not a bad ship - it just is too different from the coming RN DDs to be of any use as a training ship. Gallant would do better as that, I'd say.

0.7.8 Balance changes: Black Swan. Dear WG, please no.

Sealclubbing is one of the most copetitive parts of the game... The main problem usually is to spot the sealclubber in the enemy team right when the battle begins. So you either have to look for known names or clans or - the easiest way - for the Sealclubber's Ship of Choice (SSC) like Kamikaze (and her sisters), Nikolai, Prince Albert, Gremlin, Vampire... Another problem arises, when the sealclubber isn't a known player from a known clan and sailing around in something that usually doesn't qualify as an SSC. T3 cruiser St.Louis was one of those "hidden" SSCs, as there's always lots of them around in low tier battles, and most of them are played by new players that just try to gather exp to get to the next tier. But in the hands of a sealclubber, the St.Louis can be awfully nasty... Then there are the sealclubber wannabees - like me - who don't go (always...) for SSCs - either because they don't own any (like me not owning Nikolai and Gremlin) or because they love the challenge to sealclub in official non-SSCs like Yubari (great SSC... when used properly it eats the DDs and BBs it can meet for lunch, with a full load of T4/T5 planes as dessert), Orion (yes, it has been nerfed, but it still clubs like earlier), Ishizuchi (the grandmother of BB HE spam...) or... wait for it.... the Krasny Krim! Yes, the Crispy Creme can (!) be a sealclubber, if you are lucky with battle conditions. You need islands - of course - and people hiding behind them. Some T7 BBs as targets are nice. The BaBByseals in them often ignore the rainbows of HE coming at them, as they don't do that much damage... but when the fires start. they learn how wrong that can be. KK has to stay away from cruisers and US/Russian DDs, as these can severly punish her, but most IJN DDs are nice targets. Especially the one SSC everybody knows as one - the Kamikaze. Whenever I play my daily match in my KK I rejoice when I see a Kamikaze in the enemy team, as then I have a main target for that battle: Club the Sealclubber... and it feels so sweet when I succeed... Okay, a couple hundred battles in a Kamikaze help to fight other players using it... Another hidden SSC is the Minekaze. Yes, she isn't as great as she was before being hit with The Nerfbat. But with a 10 point captain in it and a bit of knowledge about "How not to be seen" and "Why BaBByseals always sail in straight lines" you can have a great time in her. So, nobody should ever say there is no competition in sealclubbing... usually there's sealclubbers on both teams....

    Noob concentration in high tiers?

corrected that for you... Fact: it only takes time to see all potatoes gather at T10. Many skilled players don't want to be potatoed so often, so they go to low/mid tier instead. So the % of potatoes at T10 will rise and rise again... at some time in the future, there will be only potatoes left at T10... while the real fun and challenge takes place between T5 to T7

(speculation) what will ruski battleships be like?

I guess they will be a mixture between fact and fiction... Fact: they will be armoured like coastal batteries, because that was their job in the WWII... Fiction: unlike in reality, they will be able to leave the harbour. All in all I expect WG to deliver some utterly unrealistic "but we found the sicrit blueprints" overhyped ships that only potatoes will love - and continue to shoot HE with - and no halfway serious player - not even the russian ones - will ever touch. But it's ok... even those wet dreams of russian navy fetishists will sink of enough torpedoes are stuck in them... like Nikolai...

    WoWs realism

Did that with my Itchy Suzie today on Solomon Islands, Domination mode. I went straight to A Cap on the south side with an allied DD going with me north of me,and stumbled into about a third of the enemy team. Turning away would have meant a fiery horrible death, so I just pointed my bow at the enemy and started trading shots. There were two Cruisers - a Kolberg and another - and a Kaiser waiting for me. I stuck a salvo into the Kaiser, then focussed it for secondaries while I went close to and then past it, while my main guns were on the cruisers... While I burned and turned and burned some more, some allies had arrived and concentrated their fire on the Kaiser, which - luckily for me - decided to shoot with HE at my Suzie... I managed to get "First Blood" - which, with Yamamoto as captain meant another heal, yay! - by sinking the Kaiser with my secondaries. A bit later the Kolberg fell to my guns and I had managed to survive a YOLO run in a Suzie, that probably would have been pulverised if the Kaiser had used AP... Not in a BB, but also fun and somehow fitting for this thread, as it was kinda extrem realistic... In my Vampire I sailed straight ahead at an enemy Bellorophon - which probably was controlled by some poor new player - and when very - very, very - close, I fired the one 3-tube launcher the Vampire has, managing only two hits. Not enough to sink the Bello, so while firing my guns I did a full 360° around the Bello, while the torpedo launcher reloaded. I expected to face a quick death, but instead managed to survive 'til the torps were ready again and managed to finally sink the Bello and even got away alive... I can't even imagine the horror that poor - probably new - player must have felt, seeing all his shots missing, the secondaries doing nearly no damage, just to get torped from stone-throwing range in the end.... ...but it was fun

Wish List for World of Warship

Wishlist for WoWs: - Lets have a "Year of the CV" - lets fight the BB flood by implementing a working system to restrict BBs to three per side per battle ( except in PVE, so all the BaBBies have a place where they still can happily shoot away without doing anything usefull) - more radars... every ship should have radar. Especially all DDs. But make it show ships show like a real radar would, so no spotting through islands and smaller ships have a lesser chance to get picked up than big ones... and ships behind larger ships also can't be seen by radar...

    DD problem

And that's the reason why there have to be three DDs in every battle - to punish the BaBByseals right from the start. Yeah... smoking up immediately when entering the cap even though one's not even spotted yet is a sure sign of a potato DD waiting to get rekt - usually by the torpedoes from an enemy DD that hasn't smoked up - as those potatoes usually also stay on one spot in the smoke because "invisible". That's a mental illness that also extended to Belfast players for quite a while... Belfast sitting in smoke using radar and feeling invisible while forgetting about active time of radar and DDs sneaking in to torp after radar is down... And about DD being OP in low tier: It's not DDs per se that are OP. It's just that quite a few dirty sealclubbers like me go out in some of them to punish all those BaBByseals as long as they still are small and have the chance to rethink their possible way, so they chose DDs or cruisers instead of turning to the Dark BaBBy side... oh... and to punish potatoes in the hope that they quit before they become potatoes on higher tiers...
  9. I know what You mean... every time I enter a battle with my Vampire I feel dirty... Would probably feel even more dirty, if it had the historical (I think..) 2x3 torpedo tubes... or even the later 2x4 tubes... As it is I just have to use guns and speed and agility to go for all those poor little BaBByseals at T3/T4 Instead of taking a bath after all of my daily sealclubbing I do the last battle of the day always in my Krasny Krim. Shooting lots of HE rainbows in the air feels terribly cleaning...

    Lack of camouflages in standard

That's not a nice comment. Don't discriminate really handicapped people by comparing them to those no camo / no skill / only want to have fun going boom boom boom type of people. These people actively CHOOSE to be handicapped.

My hopes for the new cv ui

Can't be the real reason... many players are unhappy about the BB flood... still there's nothing done to make BBs less attractive to BaBBies, but instead more BBs are implemented in the game with even more absurd abilities... So no, unhappy players are sure no reason for WG todo anything... unless it's unhappy BaBBies of course... or rather unhappy BaBBies with money to spend

    Slow BB Power Creep?

Play more DDs - then anything below 35 knots feels slow to you (like it does for me... so for BBs it's only slow, slower and slowerest...)
  13. Had the honor to meet an internet celery in battle today, as @Flambass / flamu was in the same team as I. He in Missouri and division with two friends and me solo as usual... right when he was greeted I stated that I would probably f*ck up as usual, when I'm around celeries, and I kinda did, but not before I managed 1 1/2 caps... Game ended with a win.

Deep Water Torps - surprising find

Deepwater torps still not working on russian DDs has way more need to be changed. RU DDs = Cruisers and should be treated as such
  15. Deckeru_Maiku

Can we get an option to opt out of Epicenter?

As long as there's no CV to take my Crispy Creme out of the game, I *LOVE* finding me a nice little island and spam HE at all the people I can see and target... Crispy Creme is extremely underrated.

Should I stop playing tier X?

Can't say I bother much about HOW you play, but everybody asking if he should stop playing T10 will get the same answer from me: Yes, stop immediately! The fewer people play T10, the higher the chances for me playing T8 and T9 to be toptier get.
  17. Deckeru_Maiku

Helpful hint for those short on ingame credits

Even easier to make enough credits: don't rush to T10 like if it was the sacred land... keep some T5 / T6 ships as moneymakers.

    T10 battles minimum 53% winrate

Sounds ok to me... so nobody with a winrate below 53% will ever get in a T10 battle, right?
  19. hmmm... maybe he has done WoWs a favour and sold his account?
  20. Sorreee... didn't notice You... was to busy trying to confuse those three (other) windowlickers to keep them from being effective... had enough time for that, as I managed to run into half the enemy team with my Lyon only toget sunk within the first couple minutes of the battle... And yes, that Nelson secured the win for us...
  21. Deckeru_Maiku

    Invisi-fire

Invisifire never left the game... you just have to know how to do it.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

It's also very nice for making DDs disappear from the map if they manage to find themselves coming out from behind an island ready to torp the big, nasty Lyon, just to see a full broadside pointing in their direction and then seeing lots of FBS (Effing Big Shells) coming their direction... Today started bad with three battles in Amagi to get one win, and two each in Inuki and Benson for their wins. Only played one game in the Bismarck and it was a loss... But then WoWs seemed to have decided thatI had been punished enough. All eleven battles I fought then ended with wins. Not always glorious ones, but wins... Nice was the battle in the Shininome, in which I managed to sink three enemy ships while doing only 19k damage... one even was a BB... and to defend a cap for 12 minutes before I finally went down (right after sinking that BB and then sinking a cruiser with some torps at 8 km range... straightsailing... tsk...) Also nice was a standard battle on Big Race with two enemy CVs vs. my Yubari. Got 9 planes and sunk both enemy CVs in the end - had some support with that - before I want down. The battle ended as a win. Then I had the intention to do some sealclubbing, so I took out my Minekaze for a ride... and it even only has a 10 pt captain. Big Race again, but with Epeencenter mode... I went straight into the middle at full speed and did my worst... and in the end there were 53k damage done and one enemy sunk, but 2689 WoWs S&N Unicorn Points for the win. In my Lyon I also managed a win, with 62k damage done and two ships sunk... one of them a DD that tried what I described above... too bad that I knew he was coming and have at least an idea of how to play DDs... so even before that DD could launch torps he went BOOOOOM! So for the day, there was a 73% winrate... and some battles where I did my share to secure the win. Feels good man!

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Had a couple good and bad games today... two bad games in the Musashi, of which one ended a loss and the other a win, both with me already sunk... nothing worth mentioning apart from that two bad games in Yugumo... a loss and a win... see above one nice battle in my Fletcher, 97k damage, three sinkers, two caps taken and a win... 5190 unicornish WoW S&N points and it also was enough to finally get me the... Shinonome. Put in my 19 pt DD captain and managed a loss and a win with an average 46k damage and a sinker in each game. Seems like a nice ship... In my Benson I managed a win with a sinker and 74k damage. WoW S&N says it was unicornish with 3446 points... a bad game in the Amagi, which to my surprise was won by the lemming train that first got stuck at A cap. But it seems the other team managed to pull defeat from the jaws of victory And the final battle of the day in the Crispy Creme... detailed below. T5 Battle on Strait map, Domination mode, with me starting at the north-west starting point. Right from the start I set course to the small island near B, which is my favourite camping spot when I end up with the Krim on this map. And it proved to be a great spot again. Even before I reached it, I had lots of opportunities to go "Dakka-Dakka-Dakka" like crazy... Got some hits on a DD and on a couple Cruisers, and finally managed to get into position behind the island to rain fire on everything that managed to get into range. The enemy CV tried to keep me spotted, but lost too many planes doing so and trying to attack me wasn't successful either. When the battle already was decided I went into B, sinking a DD there and then spamming HE at the enemy Nikolai that attempted to take the C cap, getting a couple saves from it. A Karlsruhe entered the B cap through the slot between the easten island, just to face me and some planes fromour CV, which ended the capping attempt before it really had begun. Then only one enemy ship remained - the CV. I went east at full speed and - of course - had that CV in my range. Some "Dakka-Dakka-Dakka" later the CV was downed, giving me a kraken... So in the end the stats said: a win, five sinkers, 56k damage done, 4865 unicornish WoWs S&N points in a very fun game... The Crispy Creme has become one of my - if not THE - favourite ship(s). My stats are only mediocre in it, as I'm not really able to carry a game in it and sometimes manage to play way too risky and get deleted earlyin the battle... Still in 150 battles and with only a 20% main guns hitrate *cough* I managed to sink 75 ships with them. And I still want a spotter plane for the Crispy Creme!

    New ways to balance

    Ships without gimmicks
  25. For once I saw some names in the battle setup that I know... so a hello to @BeauNidl3 and fellow 5CRUB @PseudoMi, who was unfortunate enough to end on the other team and therefor the losing side... Beau ended at the #1 spot - deserved - and me in the midfield, as I didn't do that much except from taking the A cap on Sleeping Giant Domination and pi**ing off enemy ships trying to take it away... Nice to see y'all and karma was given (as I finally didn't forget it for once ^^)
