The problem with Seal Clubbers
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Th3Cupc4keOfD3struction's topic in General Discussion
hmmm... lets see... Vampire, 69 battles, 71% winrate, 35k average damage, 1.57 average kills... yeah, seems to qualify... Campbeltown, 78 battles, 64% winrate, 32k average damage, 1.35 average kills... maybe this one too... Right now I rather prefer to club seals in my Yubari or Crispy Creme... or better, look for those Kamikazes and Fujins at T5 and club them -
Losing karma by getting team-killed and reported by teammates
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Praxzy's topic in Off-Topic
I could understand rage because of getting TK'ed on purpose... but because of losing Karma??? Karma??? Karma is so utterly useless in this game, I nearly wet my pants every time I manage to gather 10 pts - which usually means about every 6 months or so and never stays about that for longer than a couple days or so... -

At least tell us if he was pink or not... Met @TomBombardil in a Lyon in my "assembling of players" - as I can't call that a team... at least not those on my flank... - while overextending in my Bismarck. The allied DD in front of me suicided without need and the cruisers and other BBs behind me did their best "kemp bush" WoT imitation. Tom was busy capping the middle cap when I got sunk and left the game... don't even know if it was a win or loss... Nonetheless nice to see You -
With the problems associated with potato controlled BBs the presence of potato controlled BBs in the game had been severely reduced to the point where I only saw potato controlled BBs in maybe 9/10 games. Now I suddenly see them in 10/10 games and I'm noticing how it's severely impacting my enjoyment of the game. For me potato controlled BBs add nothing positive to the game, they do however add lost of frustration. I don't see this changing without a rework.

Which "Silver" ships you retained after finishing the grind of some ship line and reaching Tier X in it?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Considering the utterly "interesting" gameplay at T10 I probably won't ever own many T10 ships for very long. Or at least won't play them often. So many of the ships I have now will stay in my port and see the sea probably more often than any T10. -
Win Rate and High stat player attitudes
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Quazie's topic in General Discussion
I never check peoples stats before, in or after a battle. I never tell anyone to play PvE, because that wouldn't be fair to all the good players playing PvE. But when I see someone playing like an utter brainless potato, I usually tell him to go play something else instead of WoWs... something that doesn't need any tactical skills maybe... something fitting for his mental state... like... Bingo perhaps... -
Watched the video... Gameplay looked as if it would be utterly boring... flying around with a single squad of planes to find a target, then do four attacks with short pauses between them... then start the long flight back... Okay, one positive aspect - that strafe I never managed is gone... but at least for me the fun of having to multitask all over the map to be effective for the team is also gone Right now I only rarely play CVs and only at T4 when I want to club some seals... I guess that won't change after the "CV rework" but I guess we will see a lot less skilled and many more unskilled CV players in the future. Which will proabably make playing DDs even more fun, which is okay for me. Nonetheless, this rework WILL turn out horrible in the end. Remember, it's WG doing it... the one thing we can always have trust in, is that WG will f**k it up in the end

Deckeru_Maiku replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
At least for me that even wasn't what stopped me from playing CVs. Never was a great CV player, but also not an utterly bad one - solo winrates of 59 to 69% up toT7 aren't THAT bad - and it wasn't even the change in torpedo drops. For me it was the addition of strafing that killed the fun of playing CV. I just wasn't ever able to manage a single good strafing attack. Hammer & Anvil Torpedo drops were easy-peasy, but hitting that damn key at the exact time needed to do a proper strafe always evaded me... So I'm stuck to play my two left T4 CVs whenever a mission for them comes up. But only then, as using them makes me feel dirtier than using my Kamikaze with the 19pt captain to club some seals. Nonetheless I expect WG to utterly [edited]up the CV rework. And the attempts to get it working somehow... because WG just can't into CV. -
crap like this happens when they give them hamsters vodka instead of water...

Really great game... just what utterly baffles me when I watch videos like this is that sometimes none of the enemies shows the slightest interest in shotting at that ship that is again and again and again shelling them... Except for that one salvo that nearly sunk him, @wilkatis_LV wasn't really that often shot at, even when he was spotted... astonishing... don't know why, but when I'm trying to do such a display of skill usually every enemy that spots my rear end sends shells my way... Is that some kind of unknown bonus coming with being a "known name"? -
You got an answer. You don't seem to understand the answer. You seem to ask for detailed information about something, that nobody in his right mind would give here to possible opponents on the forum. Considering you have 10k+ games and quite a few of them in DDs it seems quite astonishing to me, that you pretend to be so utterly useless in cruisers against DDs. So you probably are either a troll or just an donkey's backside. Or both.

What is left to say... Booo! Hissss! Pfui!!! This is a scandal!!! Sold my St.Lucifer a while ago.. or rather Grandfathered her after 150 battles with only (!) a 55% winrate and 33k average damage and 1.47 kills/battle. I thought that was enough sealclubbing in this ship... -
If I'd see your name in the enemy team I would not hunt you in any ship you'd be around with... maybe except if it would be a CV...
-
uhm, yes? At least I use it to hunt DDs. Maybe with the small advantage, that I play also a lot of DDs and so know what to expect from the DDs... But I also go DD hunting with BBs... So... What was you problem?

After a day with 62% winrate - five of eight, but two battles were won after I got sunk in the first five minutes of the battle - I managed even 83.33% - five out of six, and surviving four of six, which is rare for me - with a 2514 WoWs S&N rating and an average damage of 79k... and I played Minekaze and Krasny Krim today! started the day with the last battle in the Amagi. She's grandfathered now after 85 battles (52% winrate) and did okay-ish in her last fight. only 37k damage and only one sinker, as I chose the wrong flank at the start and the enemy evaporated too fast all over the map... next came a battle in the Musashi with the former 15 point Amagi captain. As I got +1 karma'd, I guess doing 156k damage, sinking three enemy ships and going down in a blaze of glory, thereby helpting to win the battle, was the right thing to do. The best thing I did in this battle was probably taking out an enemy radar cruiser right afte a couple minutes into the battle... so after these T8/T9 battles I had a desire to club some BaBByseals. So it was time for my Kamikaze. While some of my team were whining about the Julius Cesar in the enemy team - OP ship that is... - I did not much exept sinking two enemy DDs fighting for the B cap (New Dawn map). The first made the mistake to sit still in smoke.. even after spotting me... not a good idea... and the other stayed in the cap, after they had managed to take it, then moved out when I tried to retake it and managed to get visible long enough to allow me the killing shot with my guns. Next was the OP Julius Cesar, that valiantly - a d stupidly - charged into a cap held by a Kamikaze...I mean, really??? Okay, I needrd two torp salvos to sink him, but sunk he got... My final victim was a New York that already was engaged by an allied BB. So I just sneaked near, then - as we were getting closer to the 1000 points- just started to give him some hot HE love... he managed to dodge the torps, but some fire I started - and some shells from the allied BB - finished him off... that also ended the battle... So I came up with four sinkers, 66k damage and a cap taken and defended. Deserved 3829 Unicorn WoW S&N rating, I think... I had another sealclubbing attempt. This time in my 12 point captain controlled Minekaze. Instead of doing a lot myself, I just went ahead spotting on Two Brothers Domination mode. Even though I didn't manage to take a cap or sink an enemy, I got 65k damage done and added around 59k spotting damage to that. Made me the #2 spot on the winning team. To go a bit up again, I took my Fiji for a ride. Again a domination battle, but on Estuary map. First I went to C cap assisting our DD taking it. Then I sneaked back and to the B cap, helping in taking that cap, too. And all along I annoyed the hell out of the enemy team, using islands and smoke and whatever to keep as hidden as possible, while sending AP shells in the soft spots of some Tirpitzes and Bismarcks... In the end the battle was won, I had survived and managed to gather 104k damage, a torped Gneisenau (coming around an island to face a torpedo spread and eating three of them...) and another unicum rating. 2873 WoWs S&N. Well deserved again... Last battle of the day was a loss in my Krasny Krim. Our team had a useless CV, that lost all his planes fast and didn't manage to spot anything, while the enemy CV played a great game. I managed some 45k damage and a sinker, but that CV wore me down in the end, but successfully sticking a torp in me twice and also getting some bombs in target... Sooo... yeah, was a good day -
DDs... by using brains and hydro, not just pressing the "clear view of the map" button.

It's You. Emerald isn't a great ship, but "it works". You just need a totally different playstyle than for any other cruiser. For me it worked good enough to get a 69% winrate over36 battles, with 6k more average damage than you - even with only the same gun hit-% and a way lesser torp hit-% (probably you risk to much trying to get them torps working...) - and twice the amount of average kills per battle. And looking at your other stats... yes, it's you...

why do soo many very experienced players feel the need to be a tier 1 seal clubber?
Deckeru_Maiku replied to Honda_NSX_R's topic in General Discussion
If he's really only there for Mikasa, then that is an utter waste... You lose the automatic secondary fire from the other broadside if you do that, just for a marginal increase in hit-% -
Yep... usually when there's lots of people with a sub-53% global winrate in it. Oh wait... uhm...

Deckeru_Maiku replied to Honda_NSX_R's topic in General Discussion
As mentioned there's newbie protection in place for new players. Usually they lose that when they enter T3 to T4 or so, which is where the real sealclubbing starts... like when they meet a Kamikaze for the first time... -

What? It was a SCRUB/5CRUB???? Or are there any other Windowlickers around? Somehow the world seems to be out of order for some days now... I suddenly have good games in my Benson..... I only use that horrible little wreck for those "needs at least a T8 ship" missions and usually I wasn't really good with it - or any other US DD... but ever since the radars came, I suddenly seem to have more success with them then with my usual favourites from Japan... Like today, when I managed a 77k damage, one kill, two caps, 3587 WoWs S&N rating. There were some horrible games today too, though, in which I did as bad as the rest of my "teams" - though calling them so would be unfair to any real teams - or some where I did okay-ish, but nothing I could do could keep the other players from YOLO-ing like they never played this game before... Other than that, I had also some nice sealclubbing matches. One obvious in my Vampire with 57k damage done. but no sinker and still 2913 WoWs S&N rating. Another one in my Yubari, with 36k damage, two sinkers and 2707 WoWs S&N rating. And in the "hidden sealclubber" Minekaze with only 29k damage, but two sinkers and only a 2041 rating. Fun fact: Yesterday Ihad a really nice battle in my Musashi, doing 221k damage (personal record for the Musashi for me) and sinking three enemy ships and even managing a cap assist... while all the rest of the team did was... zero... nada... nix... one of the moments where I really had problems to keep myself from smashing things in my reach... -

Isn't that a usual greeting to any team? "Hello you shitters, hope you don't suck too much for once?" At least that's about what I usually think when a battle starts, though I usually don't write it... -

Wait... he was not raging in chat right from the start about his teammembers? And he really did something useful in battle? In a DD? Well, either he really sold that account or maybe he finally overcame some serious addiction problems... -
Smoking up BBs in the times of changed spotting mechanics
Deckeru_Maiku replied to FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor's topic in General Discussion
No. Not that it ever made much sense with mostly potatoes controlling those BBs... As it is now, only for those BBs with extreme secondaries would it be helpful to get smoked up, but only if the player is bright enough to stop using his main guns. Which 95% of the players aren't... So every smoke used to smoke up a BB is wasted. -
